Was late once but not left behind. Fortunately, was on a dinner excursion through the cruise line in Puerto Vallarta. I think we were about 20 minutes behind schedule getting back. Any activity that might return less than an hour before departure I will only book through the cruise line.
Many years ago, on a Danube River cruise, we docked at Bratislava, which was the home of our excursion guide. We were told that the ship absolutely had to leave by 4:00. Our guide wanted to show us so many things about her city, and when we pointed out the time she just told us not to worry. Well, the ship was gone when we got back to the dock. This was before the era of cell phones, but she led us on a hike to a marshy riverside lot with a rickety wooden dock that extended out into the water, and there was our ship. The dock was on the verge of collapse, but we managed to reach the ship without incident!

Child is not ‘sacrificed’. The child is on the pier. Mom gets ahead to boat staff then says ‘I’m here! My child is right there…’. Plus you can see cruise ship staff on pier. They got walkie talkies
@@PJL7095responsible parents would never have run ahead of their kid, leaving their kid lagging behind. They would stay with the child and run with the child. Imagine what the child was thinking when the mother was running ahead?
Responsible parents - run WITH their child. Irresponsible parents - run AHEAD of the child. Imagine what this poor child was thinking when she sees her mum running ahead and not waiting for her? Life lessons there for the child (don’t count on mother).
Responsible parents are not late getting back to the ship. Running with child or running ahead of child are both irresponsible and also shows a lack of consideration for fellow passengers.
Did it dawn on you that once the mother got there, then she would tell them her child is on her way? Yes, it's stupid what she did, but it's extremely doubtful she would leave the kid behind.
Naw. I think what the guy in the video said is right. Mom knew that if she could set foot on the ship there was no way that they were going to leave the kid behind. But if she's peer running at the speed of her child they could've been both left. I've definitely run up ahead a few paces to flag down a bus when running with kids. Although I wouldn't get on until the kids had caught up, it's enough to make eye contact with the bus driver who's stopped and opened his doors to ensure that he'll wait a few more seconds for the kids who are a bus length behind. Otherwise the bus would've likely left before everyone reached the stop.
How disgusting. I imagine this poor little girl has major abandonment issues. What a selfish parent to run and leave her little girl behind to run for her life thinking her mother was gonna leave her. Sad.
It's certainly dangerous and not a best practice, it only takes seconds for disaster to strike. Not the worst thing in the world but we can do much better.
Ok. Ummm You've obviously never been on a cruise. When they say 4³⁰ they actually MEAN 4²⁹. You notice the lady that captured the video stated it was 4³² & they'd already started to pull in the gangway. Cruise lines DO NOT wait for anybody. NOBODY. They adhere to a very tight schedule. And will not HESITATE to leave yo' behind, behind. Get to a commercial cruise liner 30min late & see if it's still there. You will be on for a rude awakening. Idk where you got that 30min grace period from, but you are sadly mistaken. Ijs 🤷🏾♀️.
I've been on 1 cruise. We were docked in Puerto Vallarta and there was an announcement from the captain stating we were waiting for some passengers. There was audible frustration from everyone. It turned out there was an elderly couple that went missing during an excursion. They were found almost an hour later and we left almost 2 hours late.
I DID , EVEN THOUGH I THINK IT WAS JUST A BAD DREAM , I STILL REMEMBER IT TO THIS DAY AND I'M 70 YEARS OLD ! THAT IS A SORRY WOMAN , THE CHILD COULD ONLY SEE HER MOTHER RUNNING AWAY FROM HER IN A STRANGE PLACE !
Sometimes, depending on the port, the cruiseline has no leeway. We did a sailing of a British Isles cruise and when we stopped in Liverpool they stressed the on board time. The Liverpool dock is on a river so they were dependent on the tides to push the boat out into the ocean. They had to leave on time or risk being stranded until the next appropriate tide. Just be on time.
I don't care if this was a "strategy" by the mom.. this is child neglect plain and simple! She needs to have a stern talking to when she returns home..😒 Anyone who does that when the ship is about to pull the walkway should be shoved off the walkway and be made to suffer for their selfish behavior. "You left your baby and expect us to wait? Nah you can wait on the pier for your kid then figure out how to get back on this ship at the next port or back home on your own."
Lol, we visit cozumel every year. We stay at a place close to the cruise ships. The horn blasts before they go, is very loud. But people spread out so far and fast. Clear to the other side of the island is a popular area. Travel takes longer than one thinks. And to drive in the main area is crazy busy... at least on scooters. And yes, the drinking... oh boy.
I was on that cruise right there next to the person recording on the Jubilee at Roatan. There was a big family of nearly 20 people who were late and they kept running out of the shop to the pier😂😂
I think that if the cruise lines imposed a fine like $50 a minute the problem would be solved. And I agree that the little girl is a athlete in the making!
I think it was a good strategy too. Run like heck and inform the crew that her child is on her way. No one, in their right mind, would leave a child behind, and the mom knew it.
Yeah, maybe for the mom it was great. For the child, seeing her mom running away and leaving her behind I'm sure a lot less so. That can leave a scar on her little soul for life.
@SuzetteG316 you could be right, but I imagined a different scenario, one where the mom knows her child is mature enough, secure enough in her mother’s love and attachment, emotionally able to comprehend the urgency of the situation, and is confident her mother would never abandon her.
I’m so sorry for the precious little one. I live on the island of Roatan, and most tour operators know to get their customers back on board on time. Because time difference can mess you up sometimes with ship time and island time. And you’re right, they should be back on board way before the time, at least one hour, to avoid a stressful situation. Again, sorry for the little one. She must have been so scared. But I am so happy that she got back. ❤❤❤
I’ve seen these horrible parents leave their children a city block behind on a regular street. I don’t have enough ugly things to say about this woman. Frankly if I had been videotaping the events I’d have to bleep myself out cause I’d be calling her every thing in the book. Poor baby to be stuck with such a careless person. 😢
While I certainly done necessarily condone what happened, the child is in a secured area. All the kidnappers are on one of the ships on that pier. They don’t have much of a way to run with her.
Well that little girl has been left with a trauma memory of seeing her mum running away from her, not even a glance over her shoulder to check she is ok. She could have tripped and fallen into the water and mum would be clueless. That will live in the girl's memory after mum is long gone.
That baby was rolling. I’m sure she wasn’t going to just leave the baby. 😳😳😳 Maybe just hold the ship up. I pray I never have to experience running to the ship.
Sensational Headline. That mother knew if she ran AHEAD and made the ship, the ship would not have left her little girl. Granted the mother was definitely negligent in being late, but in no way did she “leave” her child. She simply ran ahead.
I’m a mother and I could see me having a talk with my son.. and telling him buddy mom’s going to run.. I need you to run too.. I promise I won’t leave you.. just run buddy.. because if I make it.. they wouldn’t leave him behind.. and neither would I.. do i as a single mother want to get left in a country I don’t know with my young child?? Absolutely not.. nobody knows what they were talking about or the conversation they had while they were running.. mom could have been hollering come on baby you’re doing great.. I promise I won’t leave you.. nobody knows
I’m going to give the mother the benefit of the doubt; I think that she ran ahead to the gangway to tell the crew that her child was just behind and that she wouldn’t board until her child had caught up to her.
There’s NEVER an excuse to leave 6our child behind, unless you’re dead! Considering how that little Princess could run something tells me it’s not the first time. If you’re on a cruise and leave the ship to go shopping or whatever, YOU keep an eye on the time, that’s YOUR responsibility NOT the ships crew! YOU make sure to let the crew know if there’s a hang up for YOU to get back in time, it’s NOT their responsibility to keep track on where or what YOU do!
She either told the child to run or she felt carrying the child would hold her back from being able to stop the ship from leaving them so she took a chance on trying to stop the ship but she certainly wasn’t going to leave her child behind.
It’s not about leaving the child behind for the ship sailing. That baby could have been snatched. She doesn’t know those men standing on that doc. That baby could have fallen off the dock. Pick that baby up and miss the ship together if need be.
@@pigalottafattenton5003she couldn’t have been snatched, they were ships crew, and not only is half the ships passengers watching, there are cameras and security at ports. There is no other exit but to go back through the main port to get to the street. Unless you think that a kidnapper had a boat and they just happened to see the kid running and they jumped up onto the wharf and snatched the kid, lept back on their speed boat and took off into oblivion.
@ who’s said ships crew won’t snatch a child. They are assaulting them people on the ship. Who’s says they are ships crew. She stopped running when that guy raised his hand. He had to motion her to get her to keep running. Those 2 men on the actual deck weren’t crew. People are crazy and try to snatch kids out of people hands in public on crowded streets. Witnesses and people recording don’t mean anything. And she still could have fallen off the ramp. My point is keep your hand on your child or at least in arms reach.
Baby girl can run, she was stretching those little legs. She's hecka fast and she also has good form. That mother better do everything she can, to make it up to that baby, for doing her like that.
I CRUISED last month with carnival in the Jubliee. The port at cozumel the time to be on board was 4:30 announced by the ship. We all had excursions, the excursion we booked was TULUM and had to take a ferry and bus drive there. The excursion did not give enough time for transportation. When we got back to the ferry to the port we were all late and we all had to run. This was nerve wrecking they should know that or factor in the the time I felt like we had to run for no reason. One group bus load of passengers not back on time, I am sure they are aware of this. They need to change the itinerary or change their time on aboard. I heard lots of people missed this cruise ship because of time. The bus ride was almost 40 minutes back and forth the ferry is around 30 minutes back and forth. The tour was 1.5 hour, only 30 minutes to shop and 20 minutes to eat. My thoughts don't take the ferry on the port.
Dude I think I was on the same cruise as you since I myself was on the jubilee just last month and the final port was Cozumel. The cruise left Galveston on the ninth of November, so yep pretty sure we were on the same cruise. Sorry that you had to run back though, but at least you guys made it back on time. By the way, did you ride the Cruise's rollercoaster? I didn't. Too expensive ($15 a ride) and I hate heights. If you did ride it what was it like? Also what excursion did you take? Just curious is all. The cruise was a blast! Had a lot of fun!
@@TonySnow-rf6xz They can, but it’s in extraordinary circumstances. One tour had a land slide on the train tracks in Panama. To even get to them was going to be several hours. And at that port most tours were late because of the locks, but not that late.
I feel so bad for children because they have to rely on these people that do not honor them at all. I pray for every child that has to endure unloving caretakers.
Somehow I feel compelled to watch the entire videos of some of the most sickening people who take cruises. It's similar to picking up a tabloid paper in a grocery store check out lane.
The mother should have slowed down a bit and not leave child so far back. This kid has a un-sympathtic woman as an excuse for a mother. She shows zero feelings for child’s feelings , that poor kid.
The mother needs to be banned for life from cruising on any cruise line💯Darn shame she left her baby behind her and not holding her hand or carrying that baby girl🤬
First: the crew knew the child (not 'toddler' as the news reporter said or 'baby') was there. It was just a few minutes late and they wait for AGES for full grown drunken adults to come back, they'll wait for a kid (again, not a toddler or a baby). Then, hopefully the mother's idea was to get to the gang plank and then tell them the child was coming. Kick to the arse of the mother who didn't consider the time but I think the news reporter is a bit dramatic.
@@richmercedes True, she was not going to leave her daughter behind she was going to make sure she got on and then wait for daughter to catch up (her daughter knew mamma was commandeering that ship 😂😂😂).

@@JoyHatcherthis is not an emergency. The cruise line will always have a representative to help you get transportation to the next port. This is just reckless and irresponsible and the mother’s own fault. I would NEVER leave my toddler daughter just to tell a ship to stop. Absolutely disgusting
I don’t think she was to let the child get left behind. She probably told the child I’m going to catch the ship and try to hold the boat until the child catch up. However with a small child, you should definitely get back early.
Yes! I doubt she was going to leave the kid! She ran ahead so she could tell them they were there, and hopefully they would wait! I'm sure she said something to the child first.
Just keep track of time and give yourself an extra 45 minutes to avoid missing the ship.I have been on many cruises and have never came close to missing the ship.Great video as always ✊💎
She could've and should've been carrying that baby. I'm not even a mother and if I were with a child that small, they would be in my arms for every boarding and unboarding. If she can sprint like that, nothing is wrong physically to prevent her from carrying that baby
@@lanedaw811he’s making excuses? Okay let’s look at the choices. Option A: She’s a horrible mother and basically just said “good luck” to her daughter as she’s running away to start her new life. Or Option B: the mother was running with her child and then decided to run ahead to stop the ship while her child was literally running behind her. Is that he’s making excuses or you’re just over reacting.😂 bruh it ain’t that serious.
I didn't see a baby. I saw a CHILD who was capable of running, the one that everyone, including the crew saw running up. What I wouldn't have believed is if the ship pulled away after 2 minutes when the crew saw the child (not baby) running behind her.
@MsCarringtonsRUclips so when my ex-wife left me and our kids, she was just running ahead? NOW I understand. She will be waiting for us to catch up with her.
I dont care if it was a strategy or not for the mom, get your ass back on that ship before time is up then you wouldn't need a strategy.. 😒 its NOT that hard .
As a person employed in the child welfare industry, I can guarantee all you guys that this would not interest CPS whatsoever. She’s running to ahead to ask them to wait for the both of them. It’s not a toddler. That’s a 7-8 year old girl.
That's what I was also thinking. The little girl looked way too big to be a toddler. Plus she could run really well. Toddlers typically cannot run all that well as they are generally clumsy and tend to fall. Not sure why everybody is calling her a toddler. If she were an actual toddler then I'm sure the mom would have been able to carry her, but seven year olds are heavy. Too many people in the comments are being way too judgemental about this.
Mahogany Bay is just a very small part of the entire island of Roatan. It’s very likely that she went off into the rest of the island or had a excursion outside of Mahogany Bay and that is why she was late.
4:30 means 4:30 plan accordingly no matter what is going on. I’m glad the little girl made it back safely. Has anyone spoken to the mother on why she chose to leave her toddler behind?
Yow! That baby became Elaine Thompson-Herah and ShellyAnn Fraser Price all in one!!!!!!she ran her little heart out!! She went 1st gear to 3rd in a minute!!!!!!! I’m happy they made it

She can run! But damn, that poor kid! She booked it!!!! But also, this had to be extremely stressful.
Responsible parents - run WITH their child. Irresponsible parents - run AHEAD of the child. Imagine what this poor child was thinking when she sees her mum running ahead and not waiting for her? Life lessons there for the child (don’t count on mother).
All I can think is that SHES USED TO IT. So sad. There’s probably a good reason why she was such a good runner.
So you've never been late to anything before? @@michelleweintraub945
How disgusting. I imagine this poor little girl has major abandonment issues. What a selfish parent to run and leave her little girl behind to run for her life thinking her mother was gonna leave her. Sad.
The most desisting part is she did not even look back to check on her child. Or even hold the child’s hand. Selfish.
Because she already had a plan.
That plan could have backfired if that child fall
It's certainly dangerous and not a best practice, it only takes seconds for disaster to strike. Not the worst thing in the world but we can do much better.
Someone needs to send this little girl a gold medal for her kicking them feet so fast!!! Go baby girl! Glad you made it ❤❤
Bless her little heart. 😢
that poor child is going to have nightmares seeing her mothers back drawing further and further away in front!
So many excuses. Sorry for the child. Hope she is ok
Wow, just wow! People sink to a new low everyday! 😱🤯
agree
👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Ijs 🤷🏾♀️.
@Momuv5 Yep, they will leave you in a New York minute.
@beingmarilyngail8470 I know that's rite 😆😆
Wow that's crazy
They will only wait for someone if they were on an Excursion put together by the cruise ship.
How traumatic for that little kid.😢
That’s so traumatic for that child. Her mom is disgusting. She didn’t even look back
I would have had nightmares about that as a child!!!
Until I was dead, the feeling of abandonment never leaves you
I DID , EVEN THOUGH I THINK IT WAS JUST A BAD DREAM , I STILL REMEMBER IT TO THIS DAY AND I'M 70 YEARS OLD !
She needs to have a stern talking to when she returns home..😒
Anyone who does that when the ship is about to pull the walkway should be shoved off the walkway and be made to suffer for their selfish behavior. "You left your baby and expect us to wait? Nah you can wait on the pier for your kid then figure out how to get back on this ship at the next port or back home on your own."
Too much paperwork to leave someone behind that’s basic right there.
Y'all are so exaggerative
Lol, we visit cozumel every year. We stay at a place close to the cruise ships. The horn blasts before they go, is very loud. But people spread out so far and fast. Clear to the other side of the island is a popular area. Travel takes longer than one thinks. And to drive in the main area is crazy busy... at least on scooters. And yes, the drinking... oh boy.
Trauma for her child
And Mom does not care one bit.
Y'all are so extra
How does the child have trauma from running on a cruise ? Y'all are so dramatic 😂😂😂😂
@@MsCarringtonsRUclips clueless
Just got home 2 days ago from a Haiti and Jamaica cruise. We didn't take any chances of being left behind. Just get back early to be safe.
I was on that cruise right there next to the person recording on the Jubilee at Roatan. There was a big family of nearly 20 people who were late and they kept running out of the shop to the pier😂😂
If Screw that child was a person😂
Baby was so scared adrenaline kicked in
Always Always set your watches, phones and any others to SHIP time!
That baby can run like a champ.
I think that if the cruise lines imposed a fine like $50 a minute the problem would be solved.
And I agree that the little girl is a athlete in the making!
That wouldn't work, they need to keep their schedule
Some people have deep pockets and don't care, so it might even increase the number of people being late.
I think it was a good strategy too. Run like heck and inform the crew that her child is on her way. No one, in their right mind, would leave a child behind, and the mom knew it.
Me: we have don’t turn back for anyone
Yeah, maybe for the mom it was great. For the child, seeing her mom running away and leaving her behind I'm sure a lot less so. That can leave a scar on her little soul for life.
In this instance, what if someone snatched the baby?
@SuzetteG316 you could be right, but I imagined a different scenario, one where the mom knows her child is mature enough, secure enough in her mother’s love and attachment, emotionally able to comprehend the urgency of the situation, and is confident her mother would never abandon her.
Oh so you're also a horrible human being. Good to know.
They don’t have much of a way to run with her.
i completely agree with you
Poor baby😢 glad they made it!
In addition to knowing what time all-aboard is, be sure to double-check local time and ship's time which may or may not be the same.
With my bad knees and feet, I will just stay on the boat. The ports seem to be long. 7:05 The boat is were I will have the most fun.
Well that little girl has been left with a trauma memory of seeing her mum running away from her, not even a glance over her shoulder to check she is ok. She could have tripped and fallen into the water and mum would be clueless. That will live in the girl's memory after mum is long gone.
And getting left overseas as the ship sails away. That's a recurring nightmare on the way.
For one the mom is faster than the child of course she was going to have them wait for her daughter to catch up
I’m going to give the mother the benefit of the doubt; I think that she ran ahead to the gangway to tell the crew that her child was just behind and that she wouldn’t board until her child had caught up to her.
I came here to say this. So many judgmental people smh!
EXACTLY!
I feel this may be the reason as well
Yes so true, that's the first thing that came to my mind
I just hope she explained all that to the child.
Never mention CPS. Totally unnecessary. People make mistakes. That doesn't warrant a threat of their child being removed from the home
Awe.😢 They won’t leave a child! Thank God for that!
Should have, shed be in better hands than with her sorry excuse of a mother whod leave theyr child in a forigne country 🤮
Horribly sad, child neglect. Little girl is a track star in the making.
I’ve seen cats who were better mothers!!! 🤬
Give your child abandonment issues because you are unable to follow directions. Got it.
This woman is clearly an example of an unfit parent… There is no excuse whatsoever of any kind on this earth to do what she did
I CRUISED last month with carnival in the Jubliee.
If you take an excursion through the cruise line they cant leave if its late getting back!
That's awful That's child abuse
What about the mother???!!!!!! Why did she leave her running like that!!!!???? Regardless !!!! Don’t leave your child!!!!😬😬😤😤😤😤
She knew they would all get left behind but they wouldn’t leave a minor. Trash mother.
You know it’s now worth leaving my baby . Me and my child would have been left behind. That’s a memory that child would never forget. Be on time Damn.
I totally agree.
You people are gross. You think that child isn’t traumatized ? God , I hope you don’t have kids
Yeah, this is really making a big deal out of nothing. I highly doubt the mom’s intent was to leave the child behind.
@@richmercedes True, she was not going to leave her daughter behind she was going to make sure she got on and then wait for daughter to catch up (her daughter knew mamma was commandeering that ship 😂😂😂).
@@richmercedes I don't know about 'nothing' - it could have been something but 'leaving a child behind' and the news reporter calling her a 'toddler'...
Really? You left your child behind to fend for herself?? Makes you wonder what else this child has endured.🤔
They should have left them both. If the mother left the child behind, the woman should be charged with child abandonment.
It's irresponsible of the mother not to be there on time.
Irregardless.
You have to make room and time for, "stuff happens."
She wasn't going to leave her baby she ran ahead just so she can hold them up I'm sure
That’s what I thought immediately
Using the child as a "pawn" Shame on you.....and with parents like this, its no wonder why children of divorced parents are so messed up.....they are always used as 'pawns'
That baby was like you're not getting rid of me that easily Mom 🏃💨
Shame on her!! This is unacceptable and irresponsible of the mother.
In case of emergency take care of yourself first and then your child. So this is irresponsible?
@@JoyHatcherthis is not an emergency. The cruise line will always have a representative to help you get transportation to the next port. This is just reckless and irresponsible and the mother’s own fault. I would NEVER leave my toddler daughter just to tell a ship to stop. Absolutely disgusting
I don’t think she was to let the child get left behind. She probably told the child I’m going to catch the ship and try to hold the boat until the child catch up. However with a small child, you should definitely get back early.
Exactly
She’s not leaving her child behind. I see her trying to get to the door before they close and leave them both behind
You are making excuses and you would be part of the problem, get a grip.
True she’s clearly not leaving her child behind
@@lanedaw811he’s making excuses? Okay let’s look at the choices.
Option A: She’s a horrible mother and basically just said “good luck” to her daughter as she’s running away to start her new life.
Or
Option B: the mother was running with her child and then decided to run ahead to stop the ship while her child was literally running behind her.
Is that he’s making excuses or you’re just over reacting.😂 bruh it ain’t that serious.
First of all keep up the good work,
I love your videos.
Unbelievable😮
Thank you! I’m glad you like my videos 😊
Omgoodness, that is awful 😞 I can’t believe she left her baby
I can believe it.
I didn't see a baby. I saw a CHILD who was capable of running, the one that everyone, including the crew saw running up. What I wouldn't have believed is if the ship pulled away after 2 minutes when the crew saw the child (not baby) running behind her.
Where did shes leave the baby ? I saw the child running behind her not crawling or left behind when the ship sailed wow talk about over dramatic
She didn't leave her she just ran ahead
@MsCarringtonsRUclips so when my ex-wife left me and our kids, she was just running ahead? NOW I understand. She will be waiting for us to catch up with her.
That kid has excellent running form.
I dont care if it was a strategy or not for the mom, get your ass back on that ship before time is up then you wouldn't need a strategy.. 😒 its NOT that hard .
As soon as I saw this, that is what i thought - she knows they won't leave the kid if she gets them to delay for her. But still pitiful
Thats what I'm thinking.
The mother may or may not have had a plan, but either way she put the child through a terrifying situation. I think that's the real point.
Well this is horrible....
That is not cool. The poor child will never forget that feeling of being left behind by her own mother.
Nope, she should have taken her child by the hand and run with her. I must say though, that little girl is an amazing runner!
How could you leave that baby like that?
The mother left a child behind. We can only imagine what she does to that child when home...
I agree that she may have used her child so the ship wouldn’t leave without her. I live my life by: early is on time, on time is late.
As a person employed in the child welfare industry, I can guarantee all you guys that this would not interest CPS whatsoever. She’s running to ahead to ask them to wait for the both of them. It’s not a toddler. That’s a 7-8 year old girl.
Reality has entered the chat....we thank you.
💯
@ Agreed 💯
Exactly, people are acting like the mother just abandoned her child.
Tired of children going on cruises and being left in danger by their own parents!! 🤬🤬
I’m happy they made it
Mother of the year!!
I made it a rule to be back 2 hours before. It's not worth all the stress.
Aaaw the baby 🥺oh gosh; she was running for it! I would have to hold my babies hand. My group and I had to run once; it wasn’t fun ( like almost missing a plane). My kids weren’t with me, and it was still tough lol. The ship will leave you!
As a mother this was heartbreaking to watch. Ain't nowway, I'm leaving my baby
.
If I got off the ship and knew that I had to be back at a certain time, I’m not going far. I’m gonna start heading back at least fifteen, twenty minutes before the time.🚢 Poor baby. She made it. Mom ain’t right. I didn’t see her look back not one time… smh!😇
