I don't think the original reserve crew of Muk, Kingler, Snorlax, and the Taurous here will ever fade away. The sight gags they have whenever Ash visits Oak's lab have become ingrained in the series. We might only see Tarous and Snorlax get pulled into battles, but Muk will always have a place in the series.
I adore Muk I really hope Ash uses a lot more of his old Pokemon in Journey's which would make sense for the world tournament I'm also happy Muk clearly still loves Ash and it's 100% of one his most loveable Pokemon

I'd highly suggest checking out Pokemon Adventures. It's been going on for 20+ years and is in many ways a lot better than the anime.
I think Ash's Muk made me appreciate the Pokemon more. I also love the Alolan form. I love how affectionate Ash's Muk was lol I'm glad it still shows up in the anime every now and then. (:

Ash's Muk made my young self never judge a book by its cover. Who knew the scary dangerous sewer pokemon would really be a hug obsessed happy-go-lucky gentle giant? I am kinda glad he never joined Ash's regular team though. His Chikorita was similar in character, and during the episodes when she was freshly evolved i felt so bad for her. She couldn't show affection without being yelled at because of she wasn't a small Pokémon anymore and would tackle Ash when trying to land on his hug T_T

Muk is definitely a Pokemon of Ash's that could have benefited from getting to battle more often. For being considered to be one of his more powerful Pokemon in Johto, it didn't really get much screen time when it wasn't being used for comic relief.

If you didn't know in the current Arc we did see Muk save Ash by catching him as his Tauros send Ash fly. It made me happy when I saw Muk again and show he care for Ash and how strong it is able to catch a human too.

If Ash did have muk return and train, then muk could have a better move set. Learning dark pulse to combat psychic types and an ice type move to handle ground types.
It's interesting how Muk was at first a "bully" with his army of Grimers and then became a loveable Pokémon who always hugs Professor Oak & Ash when he returns. Though perhaps if Ash did choose to keep Muk on his team there would be the possibility of Muk becoming stronger and having a wider attack arsenal i.e., sludge bomb and body slam.

As far as "Pokemon attacks Professor Oak" running gags go in the series, Muk is SO MUCH better than Rotom. Muk hugging Professor Oak because it loves him? Funny and cute. Rotom zapping Professor Oak for fun and giving him a stupid-looking afro? (I don't have anything against afros on characters that normally have afros, but giving afros to characters that don't normally have them is not the comedy genius some Pokemon writer thinks it is.) Not funny nor cute. (If they didn't make his hair so stupid-looking, like maybe just make it messier with sparks running through it instead of an afro, Rotom would be more tolerable but still nowhere near as good as Muk.) I can't wait for him to release Rotom back into the wild, surely he's got to be done with that forme change research by now!
They should have had him fight Miltank in Ash's rematch with Whitney. Its thick body would have been good against Miltank's rollout. It would have been a more fair and entertaining battle, too

I think his battle with Ritchie would've been better if he chose Muk instead of his disobedient Charizard at the time. Well here's what Ash should of chose for his battle against Ritchie. Butterfree vs. Pikachu, Pikachu brings down Butterfree with thundershock and gets defeated by Charmander who brings out Squirtle to battle Charmander defeats it with type disadvantage sends out Sparkey who defeats Squirtle, and instead of Charizard sends out his Bulbasuar to battle Sparky and have the possibility of winning. I understand Ash was an inexperienced trainer during the time but I think If he chose those three Pokemon and strategized better and avoid the embarrassment of Charizard disobeying him until Charizard was better trained to respect Ash better he probably would've ended up further. He basically was playing with fire when he did choose Charizard during that time. But I don't write the anime. Oh well, at least he became world champion in his final season. P.S. I wished he kept his Primeape. He would've been strong during this competitions especially with his rage attack.
I'd be interested in a Video about Saturn from Team Galactic's Toxicroak, it appears multiple times so it could be enough there for a video. I always thought it looked like its shiny version when you compare how it looks to the game sprites but I don't really see that mentioned anywhere. and if you have already made a video on Toxicroak well then whoops never mind
