  • If you appliance is operating and the control panel is getting power, but your switch won't do anything, you probably have a bad switch that needs to be replaced. This video shows how I replaced a switch on a dish washer.
This dishwasher is old (like 15 years) but I hated it to take up space in the land fill and was trying to keep it alive as long as I can. I found that the START switch (the most often used switch) went bad, so I previously swapped it with the "FINE CHINA" switch which we never used. This worked for about 2 years, but the switch died again so I was just going to replace all the switches with new ones. The Tactile Switch usually resides behind a membrane, and when you push in the area of the membrane, you feel a tactile "click" of the switch. The replacement "switch board" was about $200 in the after market (and no longer available) but the tactile switch is like $2 plus your free labor if you DIY.
This video was shot over a year ago, but since then this dish washer kicked the bucket (multiple other parts failed) and ended up in the land fill....
