Most people use them in a real job, so if you can get anything out of college ...learn how to use instrumentation....power supplies, oscilloscopes, multi meters, etc....
I'm 16, studying this thing on a catholic technical highschool and you have to choose a career, so it's kinda like a university, and it even has a sort of draft at the end where companies choose you depending on your abilities and the career you chose, I decided to study electronics after I got rejected from software development, I love electronics but I'm really struggling with all the theory, I know that naturally I'll end up becoming an engineer and this kind of videos help you having perspective.
Despite me thinking I was gonna learn more about E. engineering, I just wanna say nice job on the video, your life seems like it was worth 4 years of studying in college.
I graduated this summer with my EE degree and am stoked to be starting a new engineering job this week! I'll be working on analog power electronics circuits. Cheers!
Funny. I started my career in electronics years ago. I loved it. Changed careers to fly jets. Nearing retirement and now thinking about getting back into this but….it looks boring setting in front of a computer all day. 😅.
I can't imagine how people do so much in the morning. I'm an engineer in another field and I'm at the lab at 7.30, but have plenty of time in the evening to get stuff done.
There’s a little bit more to it than that. It of course depends a lot on where you work (a company, university, your own gig, etc.) and what type of EE (DSP, signal integrity, communications, etc.) you do. And your working hours in any case is never this laid back in the real world. That was barely 8 hours? And...getting to work after 9am is almost unheard of. If you’re employed by a Fortune 500 Company, expect to work at least 10-hour days starting at 7 am. That doesn’t include meetings. If you have your own company, there are many nights you stay in the lab; you don’t have a life. Work is your life. And the cool thing about that most people just don’t get is you’d prefer it no other way. Yes, that’s right. Electrical Engineers can be weird like that.
Lol nice! I’m 16 years into my EE profession! $$$ is good, I’ll tell ya that! Tip - always be learning and be a humble learner! Never think you know it all, cuse EE is so vast it’s amazing! 🙂
Hey Carlos dumb place to ask but I’m searching through RUclips and asking around trying to decide between EE and physics because I like them both equally. Currently a first year student and wondering what the job outlook is like. Are there going to be more jobs in EE in the future or physics?

This video give to me some sad state, I can't explain very well, enter in a building and exit in the night, big amount of money yes..but, where is the life?
ME student here, how can I get into managerial roles or quality control? I do not have a strong passion for research, but more passionate about the business side and managerial roles. Based on your experience, how did them get there?
You have to go into program management, unfortunately you have to work the field to understand the workflow. Most managers worked as normal engineers first and then moved up. You can’t just skip a step.
I recently got my Bs in electronic engineer in Colombia and I'm wondering why that kind of work does not exist in my country? It seems here there are just works related to sales and communications, which I hate.
Computers have become such a big part of our lives, any professional job you take will have you sitting in front of a computer for most of the day. In EE it’s no different, for a simulation, board layout, programming instruments, programming the device, analyzing results...etc you need a computer.
Thank you very much for your time to even make a vid. I’m a seinor level undergrad watching what work will most likely be like for the rest of my years. Boy do I love graphs and circuits. I cannot wait to join you in the society of EE’s in the world. :D

I don't mind working at a desk for a while, but doing it all day without being in the field or doing something hands on will kill me. I guess that is the question. Is this just about every engineer's life? I want to pursue aerospace engineering.
Im an EE student and I've had four internships/coops so far, and for those companies, the work day starts at around 7:30am and finishes up between 4 and 5. Most salaried engineers work different hours, mostly getting in earlier and leaving later. At my current co-op, I work 9 hour days (plus 30min lunch), and have off every other friday. I usually wake at at 5:30am and leave by 6:30am, get to work at 7:30am, leave work at 5pm, and finally get home around 6 or 6:30pm. It takes a week or two to get used to spending that much of your day at work, but you learn to put your effort in, and try to make your workplace interesting. Evenings and weekends are definitely for quality time. I have no issues with the work schedule, even if I sit a lot of the day. It's just a different lifestyle, once you adapt it'll be just normal. Are there any available internships with your company. Im not a double e major but I am an applied mathematics one. I have taken several upper division courses in electrical engineering though.
Unfortunately many companies will not hire an intern/full timer unless you have an EE degree. I understand where you are coming from but if you want to work in the EE field I would recommend getting a masters in EE.
Depends on the type of Engineering, if you’re going into software, then maybe learn some programming. If you’re going into Electrical then buy an Arduino and play with it(also teach you how to program).
Is it just me or is this really boring? Like, everyone everywhere is always saying "get a stem degree, everything else is useless garbage" and such. Like I wanna make enough money to live comfortably, but if this were my job I might kill myself. I'm studying psychology, which technically is considered a stem field (s) but it's not what people really mean when they say stem since social sciences are usually not as lucrative. I was gonna major in CS, but then I took intro psych and it was just so much more exciting to learn about.
Will someone who is in Electrical Engineering give me some advise please? So im in BS EE, I’ve been thinking of switching to another career, because im kinda not getting some things in class. For example Circuits the theory i kinda get it, solving the problems sometimes i fail and struggle, but in the lab I always do great, in fact the only part that I actually really enjoy is the lab, either circuits lab, programming, or reading gates n building them. But thats it, so im wandering, exactly what’s the most that u guys do at your job? In the video the guy is mostly in the lab, which I’ll love a job just like that...
Hey Kylie! I actually have a video on what I do as an Engineer! Concept wise, it's going to depend on what career you take...if you go into design you're going to have to understand certain topics at a deeper level, if you're going to do product engineering, it might just be data analysis...there are so many fields and positions and can all be very different.
I'm the same. I'm good at hands-on and solving, rather than testing. I was told this, by instructors and councilors many times. "How do you do so well in the lab but fail at tests!?" I don't know...
Oh my God that’s an oscilloscope! I know what it is I know what it is!!!! These past three years in college has taught me something
Most people use them in a real job, so if you can get anything out of college ...learn how to use instrumentation....power supplies, oscilloscopes, multi meters, etc....

I am going to college in about 5 months and want to prepare before I go I am going to enter in as an engineer major, what should i study to prepare?
Depends on the type of Engineering, if you’re going into software, then maybe learn some programming. If you’re going into Electrical then buy an Arduino and play with it(also teach you how to program).
Is it hard being an electrical engineer. Cuz I'm interested in the field.
It’s not hard if you study but it can be stressful sometimes...
There’s a theme... I see tons of Asian engineers lol good
Yes the field is predominately Asian from my experience.
How much is hour pay ?
Salary, no hourly wage
Can you explain more ?
Look through my videos, I explain it in my “how much do I make”
Will someone who is in Electrical Engineering give me some advise please?
Thanks for the answer, really appreciate it
Hi
You can’t be a model you can’t be an angel you can’t be an engineer but there only one thing you can be. You can be girlfriend.
