I visited the park for the first time last summer and when we hit this one, they faked us out by going "..Ohh hey...Is that a bird??..." then launched us away. They changed it up each time to mess with the riders. Thought it was pretty funny.
I’m actually scared to go on this ride. I can ride everything else except for this. It’s the falling backwards part that gets me. Can someone explain the feeling you get on this ride?
the back is the better seats in my opinion. going backwards feels so cool. you like go to the front of you seat and just lie there for a second and then your dragged down with the coaster. the launch makes me flinch every time, but the ride is AMAZING. falling backwards from the twisty bit is kinda like if you were running and then someone grabs you and pulls you backwards, except if you were running upwards. it's so cool
I just went yesterday for a school trip and sat on the first seats with my friend. I usually love rides but this one scared the living crap out of me and my heart stopped multiple times ☠️ a fun ride tho I would go one agakn
This forward & backward coaster is new for 2024 in Six Flags Great Adventure, in the fiture, they should build the huge roller coaster near Wild Safari at Six Flags, but all around the park with 15 inversions upside down high speed coaster as with 92 mph top speed to open in 2027 at the latest.
Wait. Do they not do the stop on the 2nd back vertical anymore? LAME! that's what gave the ride it's "oh shit" moment as you come to a dead stop, facing the lagoon below and before you can scream, you drop back into the station for the last ride up. Edit: they stopped using the brake in 08. I'm 14 years late to this news. Man, I'm old.
@MarcdaMonkey to me, the drop from the front corkscrew isn't very intense. If you don't want something super intense, sit in the middle. The back is the best, imo.
Im creating a sort of Geoguesser game for roller coasters called "CoasterGuesser" Can I have your permission to use this footage in the game? Ill make sure to send you the link of it when I'm finished and to credit this pov.
I have been on tower of terror at Walt Disney world in Florida. I was 10. My dad tricked me into going on it, saying it was a normal elevator… I mean he’s not wrong. Anyway would anyone recommend this ride for someone deathly afraid of heights? The only roller coaster I have been on is American Eagle at great America. I’m 15 years old now, 16 in 6 days.
Story time: so this one time my thing wasn't clicking. So of course, I'm like, yo... yoo! Talk about a photo finish. They' go, "ready to launch." Now, this wasn't my 1st or even 2nd x time on it. So, I'm hella multi tasking: preparing to meet my maker, mentally psyching up to test my grip strength to save my life, and ofc trying to fix the other thing designed for such a task. Well, it was as if the 'click' started it shooting off. Few hundredths of a second, tops.... And then, the most serene minute or two of my life followed that. Straight chillin' on one of their more hectic rides, bear hugged by (now) properly working certified safety equipment.
@alexiscool2003 well that sob was ready to take off with my overhead restraint floppin around, as if its in the post ride exiting phase. I was divinely fortunate to finally get it to lock in place mere seconds before takeoff. I almost went 1v2 with gravity and 90 seconds of yikes.
@@SpartanVirus it can’t just wobble around like that tho, since it’s a ots hydraulic system it will hold in whatever position you put it in. Also, then train can’t dispatch if the restraint is not locked, they can’t even override the system to dispatch.
@alexiscool2003 are you a V2 ride operator or engineering contractor that built this car at Great America? You know so much about this particular attraction here. All I know is when everyone else had been locked in to their seat. The overhead jam that's supposed lock over my shoulder, no matter how many times I slammed it over my lap, didn't and wouldn't lock. Until the moment they guy said 3... 2... 1... and a beat and half after 1, I finally got it to lock in and about a quarter of a second later we had taken off. I find it unlikely we'd still just be sitting there, had I been unsuccessful. What about the empty seats.... they all must be locked over _no one_ before the ride can physically take off? While that may be the case for some rides at some places I doubt every single one has that feature. And given the sequence of events and their timing I find it unlikely that the moment my seat randomly finally locked that was also the second they decided to launch us and inso doing it just worked out like that Edit: this was like 17 years ago way before they changed it to "Flash" it was just called V2
@@millennial_falcon2240 it either broke and they don’t want to repair it or it had something to do with wear and tear on the track and trains not sure 🤔

Bro. Today the operator said "everybody say ahhhh" and then launched us right away
The ride ops for Full Throttle at Magic Mountain do stuff like this too

personally my stomach doesn’t drop on any rides so the backwards falling doesn’t really effect me but i think the ride is a 9/10 for sure
I personally think it hurts going in front then going backwards
Go in the middle rows like 8 or 7
One of my first coasters, its smooth and fun as fuck
Love this ride !!!
On my bucket list, since I rode Possessed at Dorney Park in Allentown Pennsylvania.
I just went yesterday for a school trip and sat on the first seats with my friend. I usually love rides but this one scared the living crap out of me and my heart stopped multiple times ☠️ a fun ride tho I would go one agakn
It felt weird to me when I got on this when I went after it opened again after the re- theme
I went on it today somehow the launch felt stronger than what I was before the retheme
Bring back the “hang” brake on the straight tower !
THIS
Same ride but different theming.
First time I went in this I got front seat right after it just got back from a break down
This is the only roller coaster that ever scared me

I think the only Impulse that still does that is Steel Venom at ValleyFair. Experienced that one last summer and it was awesome.
I miss that hold on the back tower.
SCARY AND FUN THE FLASH VERTICAL ROLLER COASTER - AT SIX FLAGS GREAT AMERICA !!!
I still hate that they got rid of that hold break.
It has not been used since 2008 just an fyi. I sadly never got to experience the holding break on it.
It was great !
Why did they stop doing that? My favorite part.
i feel like going on this ride would feel like flying, but im still terrified to go on it LMAO
Like being a swing going back and forth pretty much

Why did they quit stopping the train at the top of the tower? That was a great part of the ride.

It goes 70 mph up and down the pillars best ride there 10000%
It’s not called v2 anymore?
This is like a sad version of what Wicked Twister was at Cedar Point 😂😂😂
Yeah and what happened to your Wicked Twister ?
TFVV
Is Roof is on Right!
Is this the same coaster as Wicked Twister at Cedar Point. I believe Cedar Point dismantled W.T. last season(2021)
Wicked Twister was slightly taller, and featured two twisted vertical spikes as opposed to the one.

The reason it doesn't make the clicking sound is because its a hydraulic restraint, ratchet restraints make the clicking sound.

Am I crazy or did this ride used to stop at the top for 1-2 seconds the second time going backwards…
Yep it did
@@CoasterNick3157 thanks for saving my sanity 😅 do you know why it doesn’t anymore?

Completely unnecessary retheme. Just highlights six flags need for longer names
Money they need money so they advertise dc its called business not to make the name look sexy
Also the coaster did need a repaint as the supports were faded and dirty.
