A great skincare tip is to double cleanse! Double cleansing is essentially cleansing twice in a row, one right after another. It's best to use a milk or gel cleanser if you have combination dry/normal skin, and foam or milk cleansers again are good for oily/normal combo skin. Wash all your makeup off with cleanser once, dry your face, then use the cleanser again on your washed face. Doing this will really help extract any nasty things from your skin and pores. :)

As someone who has combo skin whose cheeks and chin get super duper dry, I probably cannot follow your tip :( What I do instead is the oil cleansing method - I take a dollop of olive oil, warm it up between my hands, and rub it on my face for a minute. It takes off the makeup like a dream and moisturizes my skin. I don't even have to wash the oil off - I just take a hot wet towel and put it on my face and leave it for 30 seconds and then wipe off the excess oil

for longer eyelashes, get an empty completely cleaned out mascara bottle and brush and fill the mascara bottle up with olive oil, apply it on your eyelashes with the brush in the morning or a night or whenever the hell you want and you'll get longer fulled lashes wut-wuuutt

Hey Cassey! Congrats on 100 videos on your main channel! You're almost at 100 on this channel too. A beauty tip I found SUPER helpful was after washing your face at night, cutting a slice of fresh ginger and dabbing it on your face to reduce irritation and it make your skin glow! Also, I just made the most delicious smoothie. It was made up of:
    -6 cut up strawberries
-1 small banana or 3/4 of a banana
    -5 ice cubes
    -1/2 inch full of milk
I love your videos and I hope you have a wonderful day!

Cassey! I have the SAME thing - Combination skin! I started actually using the Mary Kay Timewise combination to oil. The most important part about the Mary Kay is that the set has a really good sun protection (from UVA and UVB) that is NOT greasy and nasty! (So you'll actually USE it to protect your skin from aging and cancerous sun exposure!)

Cassey I have to say, you look a LOT more beautiful and glowing without your eye makeup on! Now I'm not saying you should go without cause makeup is fun but you have a habit of packing on a lot of eyeshadow for the camera so if you ever feel like being lazy, just letting you know you can totally get away with it. ;)

    Hi Cassey! :)
Since I also have combination skin, I TOTALLY understand what you went through when you were trying branded products. I'm also a crazy health advocate, and exercise 5-6 times a week. My beauty tip consists of two very natural ingredients: egg and yogurt.
Just crack an egg, spoon enough yogurt in to form a paste, and mix until well combined. It's great for your hair and skin as they are proteins, thus are great for repair®rowth. For face, leave it on for 10-15min, hair: 30min.

My beauty tip: Don't stress out! Especially when it comes to your skin, don't worry too much about this pimple(s) on your forehead or chin or whatever. Stressing out yourself will make it even worse, so stay calm and remember that you're beautiful no matter what :)

i have a question about washing hair! I know that people say it's not good to wash your hair everyday, but if you exercise/run daily, what should you do? I want to run more often, but the idea of washing all the good, healthy oils off my hair everyday makes me shy away from running daily. I want to keep my hair nice, hydrated, and smooth!
also, if you don't you use organic peel everyday, what do you use after working out?
    Thanks so much!!

    • @Savannahwithak
      @Savannahwithak 10 лет назад

Hair wise, you can get dry shampoo and spray it in your hair afterwards! I know a ton of people who do this after they work out. Personally, I like to wait to shower AFTER I work out. So I'll pull my hair up, work out, and then shower so I'm getting super clean. It's not good to wash your hair everyday, but I do due to very oily hair and skin.

I swim every 5 days so sometimes I don't condition my hair (cause that's where oils come from) and just shampoo my hair to clean it but not to make it soft. I deep condition my hair every two weeks and condition my hair like 3 times a week

Beauty Tip: I love using clay or peel off facial masks. I have combination skin like you and I notice that every I use facial masks, the dry places on my face become soft and moisturized and the oily places on my face are cleaner and clearer. Plus, I find that facial masks are super relaxing and stress relieving I put one on at night for 30 mins after studying and working out and just lay back and relax :)

Hi Cassey, I've found that blotting your face with oil blotting wipes after your sweat evaporates is very helpful to prevent breakouts after a workout - especially because I don't have the opportunity to wash my face and reapply my makeup until much later when I finally get home!

Beauty Tip: Mix equal-ish parts brown sugar and EVOO, sprinkle in a little cinnamon, and use in the shower for a moisturizing exfoliater on your face and body. The brown sugar exfoliates, while the EVOO leaves your skin super moisturized and the cinnamon makes it smell good! I love to use this during the winter or when I don't have time to put lotion on after I shower.

Hey cassey! my favorite beauty tip is a life saver i found out after much research (which apparently is actually really common knowledge apparently???)
okay so here it is: if you have dry skin, it's better to use moisturizing oil based facial masks and if you have oily skin, it's better to use clay masks.
i never knew this because all of the clay masks i would buy would never say "good for oily skin" etc, and my face is dry to normal!! ugh but yeah x)

Beauty tip: Olive oil is also great for acne and overall dry skin cleansing!! I have been using it for like 3 weeks now, and I have seen a huge change in my skin. Just mix 3 tablespoons with 4 tablespoons of salt and use as a gentle scrub, then leave it on for a minute. Wash it off with warm water. Begin once a day for a week and then use just twice a week. I have less acne and my face doesn't get dry after cleansing anymore!:)

    Hey Cassey, huge fan!
It may sound nasty but oatmeal helps. Yes oatmeal. Not eating it but I'm sure that's super healthy too. Take enough oatmeal to fit in your face and slightly dampen with water under the faucet. A milky instance should come out, very important! Using that and the oatmeal gently rub on your face in circular motions. Oatmeal is an excellent gentle exfoliant that moisturizes your skin too!! It's like double duty and all natural. I have combination skin too use 1 a week!

I can definitely vouch for clean eating directly correlating with clearer, smoother skin. I mean I've always been pretty lucky in that I've never suffered from bad acne or pimples, but I currently don't use any skincare products but still feel confident in going out bare faced & I feel this has a lot to do with eating more fruit and veggies.. :)

Using a clay mask really helps to open and clean out pores! Make sure to leave the mask on until it's completely dry and when you finish rinsing your face with warn water go back with cold water. Cold water helps to close the pores and, overall, minimize their size.

I use rice powder to set my foundation, or sometimes all by itself. It's just a white powder that goes on with a transluscent finish and kind of gives an airbrush look. I get mine cheap from Prism Pigment Shadows on facebook. The powder seems to help my complection and I break out waaaay less often when I use it. It's natural, that's probably why! A beauty tip from me is smiling! It sounds cliché, but smiling really brings out the best in people. I have problem skin/acne skin because of unstable hormones, and many years ago I would let it get me down. But not now, I try to look at the positive things in life, and smiling helps me to think that beauty is not how you look but how you are, your heart and personality. Thanks for the tips Cassey :)

I also have combination skin which makes it really hard to find a healthy neutral that works, If you use too much moisturizer your skin is oily but if you dont your skin drys out! If you mix together 2-3 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil, 2-3 tablespoons of all natural or regular honey, and 1/2 a cup of all natural or regular sugar, you can create your own exfoliating face cleanser! Just store it at room temperature (not in the fridge) and use it whenever you'd like, it should remove dead skin cells from your face that ordinary facial cleansers cannot. It also last for quite a while. Thanks Cassey!

another body exfoliation is to take used coffee powder and mix it with olive oil. It is a bit nasty at first, but it exfoliates really well and especially in winter it is very good for dry skin. The coffee powder makes it a bit messy, but it doesn't melt like sugar or salt would do and it gives a gentle scrub.

Apple cider vinegar is really good for the skin and lots of other things of course. I put 2 teaspoons apple cider vinegar and half a teaspoon honey in a glass of warm water and drink it before any meal. It's better to drink before dinner because it also reduces the appetite and helps you eat less. Honey takes away your sweet cravings and because apple cider vinegar has antioxidants, it helps you get a clear skin as well. You can also mix it with water and use as a toner from the outside.

since winter is coming up and the dry air can really dry out your skin, i like to apply a honey mask on a couple times a night. honey is a homectant, which means that it has the ability to attract AND retain moisture, so when applied to the skin it really works wonders on the dry, rough areas :)

After shaving, use a liquid exfoliant that breaks down the dead skin cells on its own. Since scrubbing the area can irritate it, this works a whole lot better and prevents in-grown hairs. The one I use is Aveda. It is just a liquid that you apply and leave on and it naturally breaks down dead skin cells. Simple! :)

massage your face a couple times a week (or whenever you find time, really). a light, five minute massage improves the circulation and can speed up the collagen production. it also is really relaxing, and stress is one of the main causes of aging! so relax and pamper yourself

Sometime after I wash my face and it feels refreshed I look at it and my pores are HUGE! But one thing my mom taught me is that if you splash cold water on your face after you wash your face with the warm water and the cleanser you are using it will significantly reduce the size of your pores. The difference is AMAZING!

Beauty tip: Use tea tree oil to treat any pimples you may have. Tea tree is great for acne as an all natural remedy! OR you can also crush an asprin pill and mix it with a bit of water until it becomes a paste, apply it to your pimples, let it sit for a couple minutes and then wipe off. Something about the asprin will reduce the swelling/redness of the pimple! I am an esthetician student and I love skin care :)

BEEAUTY TIP!! lots of water and healthy fats really REALLY improve my skin, in fact it glows! Another heads up, eyebrows are left out of girls beauty routines a lot and they make a huge difference when they look good. Before I go out my essentials are mascara for my lashes and an eyebrow pencil to just fill in and shape my eyebrows. They are the frame of your face so when they looks full and shapely it really makes your facial features POP!

Before I was vegan, I used to use a honey mask a few times a week. That literally made me GLOW! You shouldn't leave it on for more than 10 minutes though, because it'll dry you out.
Also not using shampoo helped my hair look beautiful. Chemicals in most shampoos are really harsh and take away natural oils, therefore taking away shininess and protection. Instead I used baking soda to wash my hair every other day. Apple cider vinegar works well as a conditioner.

I know the deadlines over but a beauty tip for any skin type is massaging olive oil into your skin.... It's does NOT make your skin more oily it's absorbs oil from your skin, helps extremely dry skin and most of all it is the only effective thing that I have used to get rid of about 90% of my blackheads! Hope this helped :) xox

What you also can do with coconut oil is to put it in your hair for about 10-30 minutes and than wash you hair only with shampoo and you hair will shine and shine ! Beauty tip: egg whites and honey. One egg white and a tablespoon of honey mixed together and applied on your skin will make it so soft! If you have clogged pores or blackheads, or prone to them, this is perfect for those problem areas. Make sure you open up your pores first with a hot towel or water, then take it off the same way, with heat. Then finally, a splash of cold water to "seal it off." You can actually play with temperature with anything, like hair.

Beauty Tip: Use oils such as coconut and avocado on hair for a oil treatment. Its amazing and makes your hair shinny and conditioned. The oils also work great as a moisturizer on skin. Its better than using body lotions that contain toxic chemicals and gives your skin a natural glow.

Soured cream is a great face mask, wear until dry, then wash off. Close pores with cold water.
For hair, mush avocado with some honey and 1 egg and work into dry hair. Leave for 30 mins and rinse completely. Shampoo and condition as normal.
(can use the same for face, but with 1 tablespoon lemon to combat oil)

I get really dry patchy skin from time to time, and when i do, i like to get like a 10 cent peice size amount of honey and mix it with a bit of olive oil to for a smooth pastey texture and apply it to that patch of skin. i tend to apply it for around 20 - 30 mins. but u can apply it over night. its soooooo amazing and it gets rid of the patchy dry skin in less than 2 days! sometimes even overnight! i love it!

Tip: you can use olive oil (because it wont clog pores) as an effective eye makeup remover, toner, lash serum (to help grow healthy long lashes) and eyebrow serum. A tip for growing eyebrows if your eyebrows are sparce or if you had a bad experience with plucking or threading, you can mix together olive oil and ground Cayenne pepper into a paste then put this on your eyebrows. make the paste thick enough so this wont run into your eye. This with stimulate the hair folicals witch will grow hair.

A homemade tip I've learned is this very moisturising sugar scrub! You take a mason jar, take 1 cup of sugar and 3/4 cup of EEVO (or less depending on the consistency) mix it together with a chopstick until you have a nice wet sand consistency. :) Use this scrub once a week or once every other week to exfoliate your body. You can use it on your lips if they are ever chapped! The mixture should last about month :)

I like to use a soft body brush in the shower to remove dead skin cells from the body, and for my face I am a huge fan of gentle skin scrubs. I also use witch hazel on my face as a toner and I find that it keeps my skin clear and glowing.

If you have dry or flaky lips, you can use neosporin overnight lip treatment to hydrate your lips, then lightly brush over your lips with your toothbrush in the morning to remove any skin. Your lips will feel soft, and you won't need to apply chapstick during the day even if you were previously addicted to it.

Best way to wash your face, especially for combination skin: Make a 50/50 mixture of olive oil and castor oil. Apply about 1/2 tsp. to face (also a great makeup remover!). Soak a washcloth in hot water, and lay over face for 30 seconds to steam. Use the same wet washcloth to gently rub the oil off your face. The castor oil pulls toxins out of your skin (and can actually be drying to skin without the olive oil), and the olive oil moisturizes. My skin never gets flaky or broken out anymore!

Beauty tip: I use coconut oil to clean of my eye make up and then I leave a thin layer of the oil under my eyes for the night because then I don't wake up with black circles under my eyes even though I didn't get a lot of sleep the night before. I really love the coconut oil because you can use it in so many ways and it's natural. It's good for your hair your skin your under eyes and it also makes your lashes stronger and healthier and the best part is you can eat it! hope you enjoy! :)

extra virgin olive oil is a natural moisturizer and could be used to deep condition your dry skin, hair, eyelashes and your nails (dont forget the cuticles)! Leave on a generous amount for up to an hour (or more) and then wash away residue! :)

Beauty tip: tea tree oil is really good for fighting acne. Put a few drops into boiling water and let your face hover over the steam for 10 minutes. It opens the pores and cleans them out.

My beauty tip is a really easy ace mask: 3-4 tapblespoons Yogurt and 1 tbsp honey. Do that on your face and wash your face after 15 minutes. The yogurt makes your face soft and nice and the honey is antibacterial so it's good against spots.

Beauty Tip: Use warm water on your face before washing and then after you wash, use cold water. the warm water will open up your pores while you are cleansing and then afterwards, the cold water closes your pores not letting anything gross get in

I have a really great tip, put green tea in a little spray bottle and keep it in the fridge. Use it as a toner! Its a really great way to refresh your skin after working out and after washing your face!

changing your pillowcase regularly can help prevent acne! bacteria can build up at night on your pillowcase, and it will recontaminate your skin night after night if you don't change your pillowcase. I recommend changing it every week :)

My Favorite Beauty (and Budget-Saving) Tip: Table sugar can make any face wash an exfoliating face wash. You can use this instead of buying two face washes --a regular wash and an exfoliating wash-- or if you love a certain wash and it doesn't come in an exfoliating version (like my situation).

For eyebrow/eyelash growth try rubbing a dab of Vaseline over your eyebrow hairs and coat your eye lashes too (be careful not to get a huge glob of it in your eye!!) I usually do this before bed, you can also try using coconut oil or olive oil on your eyebrows, too, but be careful because sometimes I use too much and it runs on to my eyelids and makes them all oily. Of course you can also use these oils for deep conditioning for your hair, too, just make sure to shampoo thoroughly if you try.

overall beauty tip. Just breath. Why? when we breath deeply (and pay attention to the air coming in our lungs) a lot of great thing happen in our bodies: we get relaxed (stress can damage skin, did you know that?), we get a lot more oxygen (wich our skin needs to regenerate and stay healthy), we pay attention to our inside (with this you give yourself the message "My body is important and deserves attention".. points up in self esteem ).

Beauty tip: Once a week, try mixing conditioner with a warm bit of Extra virgin olive oil and leaving it in your hair for about 10-15 minutes in, either, a warm towel, or a shower cap. Then wash it off! Makes hair super soft, because it works as a deep conditioning agent. I take a lot of showers due to my working out all the time. So my hair tends to get dried out easily from the constant washing D:

    Hey Cassey!
Here are a few beauty tips:
1.Plain Greek yogurt mixed with crushed oatmeal can be used as a facial mask to cleanse, rejuvenate, and brighten up your skin. It's all natural and the yogurt is very moisturizing, so it will give your skin a healthy glow.
2.For pimples that are arising, apply tea tree oil or lemon juice to the spot to stop it's growth.
3.Get plenty of beauty sleep. This is the time when body detoxifies itself and repairs both internally and externally.
    Thanks!
    -Karam :)

Beauty tip: I always take my eye makeup off with vaseline! It doesnt burn if you get it in your eyes, It even takes off stubborn waterproof mascara.
Beauty tip: To get rid of dry patches during cold winter months, use vitamin E oil. Buy the Vitamin E capsules, cut one open, and squeeze the oil onto your dry patches. Clears them up overnight!
Beauty tip: For sensitive skin, wash your face with baby soap! Fancy soaps always dried out my face. Baby soap is very gentle and doesnt burn the eyes!

My beauty tip would be to use Moroccan argon oil in your hair as a leave in treatment, apply to the hair when it's damp and dry and style as normal. I've found it to be amazing! It makes my hair soft and really shiny! And don't worry if you've got oily hair (I'm sure you dont but I do) it doesnt make it greasy or oily! In fact I find that my hair lasts longer without washing since I've started using it!!

hii, my beauty tip is to avoid using a whole bunch of skin scrubs and various washes together because they end up making my skin dry ,and then makes my skin more oily because my body is trying to prevent the dryness! x

    1. Everything that you do to your face (wash, exfoliate, moisturize, etc.) do it I your neck as well and apply moisturizer in an upward motion. 2. Redken shampoo, conditioner, and heat-glide products are entirely worth the money. Good hair = confidence = beautiful!

since you say that you don't get much sleep, Cassey, applying chamomile tea bags, green tea tea bags, or any other tea bags that have caffeine in them works really well. i don't know the exact science behind it, but i think it has something to do with the same reason caffeine wakes us up in the morning. anyways this does work well for me,but make sure the tea bags are cool so you don't burn yourself! (plus the cool teabags will restrict blood flow and prevent dark circles from even occuring).

When your hair is oily or dull looking use plain old vinegar as a rinse before you shampoo. Your hair will feel and look so great! This helps add volume too!!

My beauty tip is to place sliced pineapples under your eyes and on the apples of your cheeks. This ensures you have a nice glow to your cheeks and can prevent those pesky dark under eye circles! You can also put 2 metal spoons in the fridge to get cool for about 5-8 hours or over night and then take them out and place the back side of the spoons over your closed eyes to get cooling an soothing affect on eyes for removing the dark circles. I have tried both of these and they work great.
