I LOOOOOVE how you said "how luxurious it is to gift yourself..." Oh that perspective!!!! So often in the knitting community you hear the phrase "selfish knitter" when we make items for ourselves. I hate that perspective so much. It truly is a beautiful thing to GIFT yourself with lovely items as well!!!! Thank you for phrasing it like that.
It is! Let's change that narrative! Anything we make no matter for who is a truly precious gift 🤎🤍
I love how much you care… about your craft, your yarns and Wips and the people watching you ❤ you’re a joy to watch and listen to… you’re part of my self care time very often.. and I hope you take good care of yourself.. I’ll always cherish your energy, wether you put out videos or not. ❤
Thank you so much wonderful being🌱🤎sending you joy
Another lovely podcast. Thank you for loving words of wisdom. 😊
You are such a gift for this world Martina 💗 your words at the end made me so emotional and my shoulders just got so much lighter. Hugs from Denmark.
You're a gift too and I'm so glad we energetically support one another🤎🙏🏼🤎
hello martina, your podcast are very nice, and your knitting things too! mipiace anche i modo come vivi in italia, brava.
Martina dear, it is always so lovely to hang out with you, knitting along in the vibe you create 🌸🌺 love all your knits, love that you are exploring these new to me Italian companies, as I am in Italy like you. at the moment I am not buying yarn because I have a mega stash but in the future it will be nice to try them out. I especially appreciated what you said at the end, sometimes I just stop watching knitting content because it feels like pressure to knit more, buy yet another pattern and/or more yarn, not necessarily because someone is pushing for that, but because there is so much inspiration and temptation...I was just noticing a shift in my knitting since I started knitting for myself. I am doing two projects just for me - which never happened - and I am so much more relaxes, taking my time, ripping out and trying better, exploring, working on 2,5 mm needles for a garment that I do not really mind when it will be finished, and creating another through trial and error, while for some reason when knitting my gifts I always feel so much pressure in time and perfectionism....sending love to all four of you ❤💚🌺🌸 p.s. the last green cardigan is sooo lovely I will put that one on my wishlist!!! waiting to hear about it, whenever you will finish it, if it is difficult etc.
Thanks you Sweet Martina!!! Great video, great words ❤ Sending you my love
I love everything you do here. Grazie! ❤
Beautiful beautiful garments!
Bravissima ❤️
I think it's so fun how much attention you pay to fiber content. Very informative.
I’d love to see more series on plant fibers like you did for cruelty free silk. I have so much more appreciation for plant fibers after watching videos on how linen is sourced and worked into fiber. And your Silky Way series has done the same for silk. Thank you!
Love your finished work...especially the skirt and dress. Lovely!
It's so wonderful to meet a fellow knitter from the Mediterranean, who focuses on summer knits and plant fibers suitable for our climates! (Although I am a quite a bit further south, in slightly hotter Athens.) I am a very new knitter and only have a couple of projects under my belt (I am currently knitting the Marseille Sweater by Petit Knit) and have not yet had the chance to experiment with plant fibers but I want to knit a camisole next and was thinking of using a linen or linen blend yarn because anything worked up in wool, like I usually see suggested in patterns is going to be unwearable in the southeast Mediterranean in the warmer months. How amazing to learn about The Athenian Maker though this podcast as well! All your projects look absolutely stunning! What a thoroughly heartwarming video this has been! 💙
Loved catching up with your projects Martina. Thank you for the reminder to not compare ourselves to others. In most cases the other person you are comparing yourself to is all just fake content tailored for IG or YT to attract more people... We must just do what makes us happy and what we can manage. Have a great week. 💜
Oh and I LOVE your dress.
Exactly🤎🎯 sending you love and joy
Thank you so much, your makes are so beautiful, as are you. I have just started a podcast in memory of my granddaughter, it is called loopy loop, i am just learning youtube. I sometimes feel disapointed in myself if i am not making things fast. Thank you for all the inspiration lots of ❤ from the uk x
thankyou 🙂🤗⭐
Hi dear Martina, what a lovely episode ... I especially love the skirt and dress, they are beautiful and look so good on you. So nice to see the yarns behind you ! Enjoy! 💗💗✨
Looove youuu! Did I pronounce your name correctly?🙈🥰
@@wegrowild sounds the same as 'Micke" 🐾🐾😘
I love your outlook on life and I strive for similar traits. I absolutely love your podcast. Hugs, Carla
I love being able to visit your space for positive feeling and wisdom. Your comments about productivity not equating to worth is precisely the change we need in society where so many of us experience pressure and ways of working in general that are dehumanizing. Bravo!
I loved this episode and the message you shared at the end of the video. Thank you so much Martina! I cherish Sunday mornings knitting with you
Haha…had time now to finish your podcast!…I’m soooo sloooooowwww-but! It’s ok! -I am having fun! (I’m old lol)-meanwhile enjoy your energy soooo much!❤
Thank you, beautiful soul, for another beautiful video and your affirmations. You spread joy ❤. Lovely, gorgeous, stunning finished objects, yarns, roses and puppies. A feast for the eyes😊. Enjoy that summer has returned!
Amazing projects! Especially love the skirt, it looks so romantic in that colour, what a lovely design ❤
And thank you thank you for the reminder regarding productivity. Lately I've been knitting probably a little too much and now my arm hurts. Time to dial it down a bit, I also booked a massage!
Yess, love that you dedicated some time to take care of yourself with some massage 🤎
Wow Martina all your finished garments are stunning and highlight your beautiful personality. Very inspired ❤
You are gorgeous and always an inspiration 🥰
Thank you lovely soul🌱💐
Very good advice, and I love your little lacy sweater. You and many others are such an inspiration to me. Thank you.😊
what a stunning projects😳love it!!! go girl, you are wonderfull big hug Mieke
What sweet encouragement you added towards the end of your video- I needed to be reminded as I did think to myself… wow! I wish I could knit this fast. We are all unique ❤ thank you- new subscriber.
Oh I'm glad you did not compare yourself with your productivity and I don't knit that fast all year around, only sometime🤎🙏🏼💓
❤❤❤
I ordered some pima cotton yarn from the athenian knitter per your podcast! Looking forward to it!… all of your pieces are so lovely 🥰
Your are making me want to knit again after I made my first ever top which is also my first thing that isn't socks, a hat or a scarf, wayyyy too short when I put it on 😅
Love seeing your work and the love for the art of knitting! 🧶🧶🧶🧶💗
Congratz on 10k 🌷✨ ooh, i love Imagine wool, really wanna try the new one!
Love the dress. Still wear it in the summer You can wear your beautiful open cardigan over the strappy dress. I may have commented before. You dont need sock blockers. , they are a gimmicky sell to make money. The wearer's feet are the blockers to shape their foot!
I find it motivating to see the color choices you make, mostly because I am hesitant and tend to overthink my colors when picking a yarn and a pattern.
I had 2 questions come to mind when watching this video today that I hope you see this to answer.
1. I absolutely love your Dhalia skirt and want to make one of my own. I just wonder, because of the little lace holes, is it see-through to the undies?! Lol. Do you wear a slip skirt undergarment when you wear the knit skirt?
2. How many balls of the silk yarn did you use for your tank top dress? I have that exact yarn in the copper color and I am dying to know how far it will last me.
Thank you so so much!
Hello🤎the Dahlia skirt is not so see though, just a little. For me it's fine to see a tiny tiny bit of skin, maybe on a darker color you could see it more prominently and I think that's the beauty of it, but if it makes you feel uncomfortable, you can always wear something underneath.
Regarding the dress I used 2 balls and more than half of the 3rd ball. I think I had 20 g left of the 3rd ball🤎
@We Grow Wild that is very helpful to know, thank you!! ♡ I certainly want to make that skirt after seeing yours :)
