As always - much thanks and appreciation for your perspective on the joys of wild camping and the many joys of living in the precious moments that we have. Be well, Pete. Best Regards, M.
Great to see you back out Pete. As you say embrace the good and don't let the negatives get you down. I'm sure your rehab will continue to be successful and you will be good to go for years to come.
Saw your post on facebook and logged onto RUclips to watch. So glad you're back sir. Wishing you a full recovery. I look forward to new vids from you. I noticed duct tape on your Explorer but didn't notice if you addressed it. Thanks for another great vid and catcha later. Rikki
Brilliant to have you back Pete, Loved the video a true return to the Mindwiseman that we all know and love - Am planning to have another Hobo Hangout at Old Allens probably end of sept / early Oct. Naturally there will be a space for you if you wish. hopefully see you soon all the best. Sam.
Thanks Sam! Am prospecting to get my son out canoeing weekend with me when he's available before the short daylight season. If it doesn't cross over with your Old Allens plans I defo pencil it in, be good to tally at your homestead! Cheers
Goots n Drive... Always get a wee lift and a positive vibe by seeing you do your craft. I wont wish you a speedy recovery, but a timely steady and gentle one. All the best, you deserve praise.
I would just like to say welcome back Pete and wish you a speedy recovery, I know from experience how good it is to get out after an injury well done. Great video. :-)
Awesome to here u back Up and out on river, The misses and I missed U at church farm Ardeley meet up as did everyone we spoke to so great to here Ur doing well, we live in Norfolk and are disabled so looking into canoes to access the wild (ish) so wanted to pick U brains maybe next year hey, but year really glad to hear Ur back up on Ur feet
Thanks for the welcome back. Good you could make Church Farm meet, plus hopefully we can tally at another meet in the future. Hope you get the acquiring canoe idea in the groove. Once I'm in receipt of the updated modified mark 3 Maverick Explorer before end of summer, I'll be uploading a video of its features & kit package so people can see exactly what they will be getting, so hopefully that can give you ideas comparing it to other inflatable canoes. Hope you can do some sort of outdoorsyness considering your circumstances. ATB!
hello china pete nice to see you out on the Thames .bushcrafting and eating fine foods in our great British country side .all top notch and sterling stuff old bean .i watched your vid then i had a strong desire to go to stokenchurch and look at the kites whilst para baling our fine woods very enjoyable.which i did .nice to see you back on form peter atb china..
Hi Pete. Enjoyed the Video. Seems I've missed a lot. Had a break from prepping wild camping etc for about 18 months, family medical things etc. Also during that time, got into photography and been studying that. Back now and looking forward to combining the photography drone shots and the outdoorsy stuff. So, I'm trying to catch up on you guys and what I've missed over a year or so. Hope your rehab is going smoothly. Take Care.
Great to see you back Pete! An observation: your face seems 5 years younger - the stress of pain can really show and when it's gone or on the mend it also shows.
Thanks a lot. Yes it's surprising how much the face can store when the body contends with disability & extreme discomfort - in my case for nearly 3 years besides a long time before that leading up to the eventual incapacitation. Nice to be rebuilt :-)
Thanks for the enquiry. Here's update: Delay bringing M/E onto market due to personal circumstances (nothing to do with the actual canoe)MAVERICK EXPLORER - not a low quality single pvc membrane play canoeed with it. PACKAGE: canoe = professional/military grade materials, 13ft "decitex" tri laminate (3 layer) 2 chambers @ 3 psi, removable 10 psi high pressure stand on drop stitch floor, chambers/floor use high pressure Halkey valves not weak Bostons or similar, 2 double blade paddles, 2 supportive seats, 2 transom benches, high pressure hand pump, 2 deck foot supports, 2 x removable fins for easy tracking, repair kit, carry bag. Load weight/carry 300kgs. R.R.P. comes in at £1,400 negotiating to bring in at £900 mark. Point of sale website (maverickexplorercanoe.com under construction). Great to see you back old bean, i was wondering and kind of made the assumption that the leg was getting sorted. Great new mate. Now, let's all look forward the MindWiseMans next adventure. All the best mucker, Cheers Moose. p.s. Tight Wad is a top bloke.
Cheers Moose, good to return to do my outdoorsy stuff albeit nice n steady. Prospect to go through the scenario again early next year for the other leg probs but meanwhile out again in next few days cooking up some Firebox food....& of course hammock chillin :-)
Just catching up with your channel again after a bit of a brake for me. Good to see your in rude health. The kip mats are awesome in the hammock too, "lazy days" lol. Hope to see you at one of the meets soon buddy, stay safe, lucky camping. Bex,, AKA bexbugoursurvivor. God bless pal.

Thanks for your complimentary words. Valid prep points noted. There's certainly a different strategy & logistics when considering preparedness in urban residential locations compared to rural. Pete good to see you back and what a great video. ne question I have don't you get bothered by some of the river wildlife such as rats or on land by snakes ?
Cheers. Only things I've come across ducks/swans/geese/waterfowl/pigeons/squirrel & mooing cows in the distance. The odd scampering fox or inquisitive deer. Grass snakes or adders tend to habitat heather & grass land. Never come across rats. The only challenge = insects & duck shit. Oooh & now my leg's better I may give strictly a bash lol

Thanks for your interest. Regarding my approach to pitching off the beaten track not attracting attention is mainly due to liking solitude & privacy, whilst also needing to if it's a stealth orientated location e.g. public access woodland. Parts of the rivers can bank onto secluded farm land with trees & bushes enabling cover to stop off for the night - always least disturbance to surrounding & LNT. Some riverbank locations are accepted as stop off points for narrow boats/canoeists etc mainly if it's local authority/public access terrain. Of course that stands to reason that's why I said @ 25:57 "..filter it then treat it that sort of thing..." yep boil it or Lifesaver bottle or similar, steri tabs - take ya pick. As I've done before in previous videos Milbank then boil.
Like your videos mate. I get it all. More folk need to dial in.

great to see you back pete 👍
Thanks a lot!
Pete, great to have you back! Something I have been meaning to ask for a good while now is, how do you manage portage with all your kit and a canoe? I'm guessing several trips? Thanks 👍
Thanks. Depends on the waterway route I take if it includes locks. Normally side shoulder carry canoe to next put in, then 2nd walk canoe trolley (specific video later part of last yr featuring how I improvised made it) with kit & shouldered rucksack. Cheers.
Great video Pete, a very enjoyable 50mins veiwing. Glad to here you're recovering well after surgery, nothing more important than a persons health and wellbeing. Those jacket spuds and sweet chilli chicken thighs looked like top grub mate. Nice to see your still as organised as ever around camp 👍I'm with you regarding staying put if the SHTF, although for me living within the boundaries of a major UK city is not my ideal, holding out is what we have prepped for. Only if the house is compromised in some way and remaining becomes completely untenable would we consider our other options. Plan B is the one I give most thought to these days especially in a WROL situation as relocating position, even if well tooled up would be seriously high risk. We know our patch and have trusted neighbours around us, although I'm not sure they feel the same way about me, lol. Anyway looking forward to watching plenty more of you now your sorted, kayaking, stealth camping and cooking "YUMMY" 😊 Atb
