Don Flamenco will dance all around your moves! He plays matador and waits for an attack, dodges it, then counters with his own! The name of the game is countering his counter! And if you expose his little secret? All bets are off!

Go for the knockout punch! It's Punch-Out!!(!) This title is a true-to-form reimagining of the classic Punch-Out!! titles! And 60 frames per second will let you see the animation to the fullest! You've got the simple and rhythmic dodge/punch controls, your star punch, and a super-stereotypical array of contenders to bash! You can just feel the love that went into making this into a game to be cherished by the fans of the series! (It's good for newbies, too! This was my first!)
Your goal is to knock out your opponent, and to do so you need to look for openings! If you just throw punches at random they'll be blocked. In general, you'll dodge a single or series of punches and then when they're open for retribution you respond with your own! There are other methods of attack, and the game will introduce a few to you as a key method for attack, but in general it's "Dodge-punch-punch-punch"! You'll often get stars for a star punch (a more powerful attack) if you take advantage of these more secret techniques.
Oh, I almost forgot to mention! You have two ways of healing yourself! If you knock the other fella down, you can mash the punch buttons to regenerate health as long as they are on the floor. There's also the super-secret-chocolate bar! Press "-" between rounds to heal a LOT of health next round. Only can do once per match!
I played through this game once in the past using the Wii Remote/Nunchuk scheme throwing punches left and right, so this time I'll try the more classic method of the Wii Remote held sideways, buttons only.

A couple technical notes:
This is being played on a Nintendo Wii U, a system backwards-compatible with Wii discs. The Wii U has the same hardware built-in as the Wii. The Wii U will automatically upscale your Wii games based on your selected resolution and output via HDMI in Progressive Scan for a clean image.

As a Hispanic myself, I'm quite impressed with Don Flamenco's portrayal. A charming and flamboyant Spanish bullfighter/boxer who dances the flamenco nicely, and is also a ladies man.
(And thankfully I can perfectly understand what he is saying too.)

If they made a Punch Out for Switch,I think the Wii versions of these boxers would have to be there. Glass Joe,Von Kaiser and Piston Honda are obvious,they'd be in there. King Hippo might be in there,maybe throw in Disco Kid. Bear Hugger might not be there. Great Tiger would make sense but I wouldn't be too upset if he wasn't there. Don Flamenco is a must have,I'd be gutted if he wasn't there. The Wii version of Aran Ryan has gotta be there,I love how they made him into a merry prankster. Soda Popinski could probably be there. Bald Bull would most likely be included. Super Macho Man and Mr Sandman are also obvious inclusions. If they made a new Punch Out with most or all of these fighters along with new ones it could really breath new life into the Punch Out series
If they made a Punch Out Switch they should add more Super Punch out characters and rewrite them like Masked Muscle and Narcis Prince. I also think it would be cool if they added someone new. Like someone from Australia or Scotland.

I like that his love is for someone called carmen and the song in his intro is just a "Spanish" version of the classical song Carmen
I like how people say he is friendly to mac when he is an actual jerk to him, taunting him all the time.
Well, he's relatively friendly. He compliments Mac for dodging his attacks ("Bien visto", "Bien hecho" and "Me has pillao" roughly translate to "Well seen", "Well done" and "You got me"), he says "Perfecto!" when Mac gets up from the canvas and he even gives him a rose when he wins. The "Venga, venga!", "Vamos, vamos", etc. can be interpreted as taunts (they all translate to "Come on, come on", iirc), but he's overall more respectful than fighters like Aran Ryan and Bald Bull.

Rule Infractions
• Don Flamenco competes with long hair which is not allow
• This further evident when the curved part of his hair falls off his forehead after taken enough damage
• In Title Defense mode he wears black eyeliner on his eyes, this counts as face covering which is illegal
• He sprays himself with perfume, only water can be brought in the ring as his perfume counts as foreign object and the punches can potentially stick to Don's skin
• He then throws his bottle into the audience where it shatters, this not only counts as interacting with audience but it also put them in danger of getting hurt.
• Don bates his opponent into hitting him, this counts as taunting and taunting counts as being disrespectful
• His Rose Flurry counts as rapid attacks which is banned in boxing
• In title defense mode, he does a spinning backhand, backhands aren't allow in boxing as they aren't performed by a clenched fist
• This counts as a double infraction as cause upon him winding up the move, he show his back which isn't allow
While his rose would count as a foreign object which is normally illegal, roses are allow in boxing as their classed as respect

Flamenco doesn't have long hair, but he wears a toupée which might count as protection to the head.

Ok, after watching many videos of the Contender fight with Don Flamenco, I have a question:
When Don knocks you down, and you get back up, why do you hear someone say, "Perfecto!" in a different voice before Flamenco says it himself? Did anyone else notice that?
I think you might be hearing the referee saying "Let's go, Let's go"
So when he knocks u down he say "what, u want more?" And ones you get up he says "perfect". He wants the fight to continue, he saying like great I can continue beating u up lol. Don is my fav character cause I'm from Spain much bias :) OLE~
