Thanks all so much for watching! Hope you enjoyed the video. Beanies are now available on my website: www.lawntips.net/merch Here is the landscape blade I use: bushrangerpe.com.au/browse-products/multi-tool-fittings/mclb2-reciprocating-cutting-blade
I have an 850 square foot pure bentgrass putting green in my backyard. It's a ton of work to maintain and expensive but I LOVE it. I used 007 and 777 cultivars when I first seeded three years ago. About a month ago I introduced T1 bentgrass to add density through a slice seeding about 5mm deep. It's tough to create and maintain density over years. I keep it at .125" (3.2mm or so) mowing with a Toro GreensMaster 1000. It will take a few seasons for it to really mature and be awesome. Enjoy it. It's super fun to have.
My wife thinks there is something wrong with me for watching someone cut their grass, but on a serious note for someone who loves their Honda mower and multitool I can't come at the price for the landscape blade. Keep up the vids. Central coast NSW
Great vid mate. Maybe a big reno job on the top half of the green, fill it in to raise it up might help get ride of the low point. A two tier green would look mint!
I'm confused. You laid tiff-tuff then put bent and rye over it, and then you are going to spray out the bent and rye? Then after that you are going to spray out the tiff-tuff? How does that work? Are you killing off the turf? If you are, how does it come back?
So, curiosity question... With bent grass and Rye, does it just get overrun with Bermuda in the Spring and Summer? I assume the Bent and Rye go dormant in the heat. Curious, because I am considering Perennial Rye in place of my Bermuda in the Fall and Winter. Also, that heat blanket is legit! Looking great!
Look cor a consultation about what grass to plant for putting green in nsw I don’t know if it should be warm weather grass or cool. Happy to pay let me know how we can talk.
Without soil sample to confirm t looks like Pythium Root rot has a hold of your green. Best guide I know for repair (you may already have it) Syngenta disease guide. Hope you got a handle on it.
Out of curiosity, with all the work you put into your lawn, about how many months of dormancy do you get in your area compared to your neighbors? I get about a solid 3 months here in the Seattle area. Last mow usually around end of November (thanksgiving here), and first mow is usually end of Feb/early March. This is my second year in the house and first year actively trying to manage weeds and adding fertilizer, so curious to see how (if at all) that will impact how late into winter it grows here
@@chrisscahill54 heya mate, not sure if you're going to see this but I've just ordered 1kg of 007 creeping bentgrass from 'the grass people' for £44. Amazing. They don't advertise it, you need to email them asking for a bespoke mix and then they'll help you out with it. I'm in kent, England, so they'll deliver to you too. Have fun and hope that helps. 👊
@@martinlogan8329 That's great thanks. I've been using seed from A1 lawns which is also excellent seed although the bent is very expensive. Thanks again I will definitely have a look 👍
@@chrisscahill54 ah happy to help mate. Yeh I was having the same problem as something like the barenburg or johnsons etc was about £200-400 for the min order! Mind me asking if you've switched to bent and how it's going? I'm just about to give it a go because of what I heard on the lawn association RUclips channel but everything I read online tells me not to do it and that it's going to ruin my life?! 😂🤷🏻♂️
I did my first overseed with rye in May, I put down granular starter fert at the same time, once it got two to three leaves, I started to dose it with some liquid fert to make sure all the young plants were getting what they needed, I’ve just put down the second half of my starter fert. I started off with lower N, higher PK, now I’m moving to higher N + iron with the liquid. That’s for Sydney type climate, hope that helps if Ben doesn’t reply.
Vegemite Mat to show people how you can do it (I left it a little late though.) It’s for winter colour as well, the TifTuf goes dormant and brown in winter
Hey mate I have kikuyu and I’m looking at getting either a rover 45 like the one u are using now or a swardman which is a lot more expensive. What one in your opinion is better bang for buck? And how many blades in the reel do u recommended? I love ur Channel by the way, keep up the awesome content Cheers
You’re a kiwi bro? Yeah nah, have to unsubscribe ay. Just a little joke there, it’s time to start a revolution, I hope you printed enough pamphlets. Love Korg

I was hoping you'd start with practice holes and flag sticks
For hoodies hit up embroidery masterz in south australia to see if they can do it for you.
there is flags and holes in the equipment part of the website 😉 thanks for becoming a member man! legend!!
“the neighbor’s outside stroking the grass again honey”
Yes to hoodies! Lawn is looking awesome 👏🏻
What has my life come to. I watch a video once a week ish of a guy cutting the same lawn. But you know what, it’s the lawn of the people
such dedication to your craft, you can tell you have a genuine passion for it, good on ya!
Checking the lawn on the security cameras while you're on holiday 😂😂 bruh
Doesn't everybody do that? 🤔🤣
Subscribed!! Love it

That caddie bib is sick :)

you should get some signs made up in advanced "sprinklers using bore water" before the summer whiners descend
That EDM fire @ 6:00 - Killrude - Paint the Wall
Great video as always
will the bent eventually start to take over the rye?
I'll be taking one of those hoodies when you get em in stock.
Another great vid, but what's happened to your tag line at the start of each vid? It was one of the best parts 😉
Welcome back
Nice shot at the end! 🤙🏼
Will be ordering a beanie when I order the special mix bundle in the 20l going all out haha
Cheater stripes! Whuuuuuuit?! 😂👍🏼👍🏼
Maybe in 10 years i will have my front like yours🤣🤣
Rotary/landscape blades are the fire. Give that clean cut.
The bentgrass is looking great, curious to see how the plugs will do if you decide to try it! 👌🏼
Be flying over your joint tomorrow !!
"Aww yeahhhh. Respect meee."

Yew! Here is another new lawn tip vid!
Y not keep the bent all year round?
can you edge with your landscaping blade?
Yep. You sure can!
welcome to the "trim first" cult. I prefer it so much more than trimming after. makes cleanup easier at the end.
Good job 👍
Lookin Minttt!!
Hi Ben, not sure if you have covered this before but how do you get into the tight corners with the landscaping blade?
What kind of grass is on the fringe and the “tee”?
Make a bunker... That would be so cool😱😂

Do you think the corner of the neighbours spouting is dripping onto that top sparse part? Love the channel, cheers
What tool do you use on your brushcutter to edge your lawn i do it old school with garden shears

how many takes for that last chip lol
5 hours of footage I had to sift through 😉😂
Looks so good. What other grass could you use apart from bent as this is so expensive in the UK.
If u are up to it, try planting seeds of it and see if u can buy the seeds on line..
@@caveman5831 It's the seeds that are expensive. Don't think you can even buy bent grass sod

Good video!! How high do you cut your bentgrass?
I don’t live here anymore but I had it at 5mm
Slow-mo cable pull. Magic.
7.29 lawn mower noise in the background. I can only imagine whats going on in that neighbourhood.
Not trying to be rude but what was the objective of overseeding of the green
Vegemite Mat to show people how you can do it (I left it a little late though.)

Yo mate!😎👊☕️☕️

Hi Ben do you still have your Protea mower haven't seen it used lately. Putting green looking good mate
Tony Paine I do, will be cracking it out again very soon
Do the hoodies
What do ya neighbours think of your lawn? Do they crack the shits that the weird guy is out stroking the grass or mowing the lawn again 😂
Best part of the whole video was the captioning so I could see how you actually spell “squiz” 😂😂🤣

Just kidding Ben!
Mitchell Gibbs 😂
ayeee you are a kiwi, never knew that
Quick Tip: pls put an outline or shadow on the txt on screen because it's quite hard to read.
Just a question, the green belongs to you or to your neighboor ?
Both 👍🏽
Why are you mowing synthetic lawn?? 😂. Looks great.
Now I know why your accent sounds funny 😁
First Aussie 😁
I'm only here for the landscape blade! (jokes)
Universal Rule for Lawncare #1 You must get out to mow when you see your neighbor mowing.
Sidekick if I did that I’d mow once every 6 months :(
Saturdays at 4:00 PM !
I can only mow once a week
Stock music got me thinking I'm watching Abroad in Japan
Gee you weren't wrong about the price of the multi tool 🤑
Make hoodies that say "Yo mate what up"
What about LIVERPOOL FOOTBALL CLUB CHAMPIONS
Hook us up a discount code for the bushranger gear! 😬
But how
Low key don’t need the ball marker on the hat.
Haha true. Got that hat for free when I bought some clubs so I’ll take what I get.
@lawntips your a kiwi whaaaaat
Hoodies!...
What about liverpool winning the league
your a kiwi! i was wondering why i liked you so much
Shhhhweet!
New content would be good
How much would you pay for the lamppost and the electricity box not to be there? 🤣
Chris Brookes haha, man I wish I could
Hi
Why would we judge you for edging first? It's just common sense
"Lookin' schmick"
Looking at the bare dirt spots on the green...”it’s a bit long....something something 6 mil.” Hahaha. Welllcome shmack to another lawn shmips shmid.
My grass is as green as yours Benny...................... joking🙃
Brushing the grass is not going to kill the ants
Ged Owen it’s to break the mounds down so the mower blades don’t get blunt. Makes it easier to mow and well without smooshing the grass.
#300👍
Mmm
where do u hide your pet sheep
Behind the back shed
What do u call a sheep covered in chocolate
