@@VisceralCarbon Plus, I think it's just advantageous based on the game's engine because of the complexity of the programming not only the flexbone but how the simmed defenses respond to it.
navy has been consistent triple option flex one since Charlie Weatherbie in 1994. Air Force since the early 80s was wishbone into Flexbone under Fisher DeBerry. Army had a long stretch starting in 1999 that they tried to be pro style but eventually regained sanity. Then Jeff Monken took their option to a new level.
It’s actually delightful to see someone who has never seen the flexbone. The way to stop the flexbone is the 3-4 bear front. Take away the middle and let your LBs flow to the outside carriers.
Your late game big play or bust mentality works when your qb isn’t on the sideline. I think the best way to stop flexbone is what killed it irl by being able to score faster by airing out the ball. Then it comes down to whichever defense can make that one crucial stop. Good vid, good game. Probably gonna need to rethink offensive strategy with this new Qb. He’s the real deal that one. (Sarcasm detected)
What killed it in real life are players not wanting to play in it because it lowers their chances to play in NFL. If someone could get consistent top 25 talent with it they would be a top 5 team.
When playing against the triple option I’ve found running the 5-2 defense to be effective at stopping it. Load up the box to try and slow it down and stuff any run lanes.
Bengal before the game “if you don’t play navy in NCAA then your missing out” Bengal after Navy’s first drive “fuck this team, fuck the flexbone, fuck this game”
See Bama vs. Georgia Southern 2011: GSU ran for over 300 yards and scored 21 points on easily one of the strongest defenses of the Bama dynasty. By the way, I know this video is a year old, but I think you defend this thing by pinching your D line, bringing outside linebackers to the line, and blitz them with smart patterns.
Army and Navy both use variations of this offense due to the lack of top level recruiting as recruits have to commit also to service time and many of them are looking to get to the NFL, but with the service schools you have to wait, therefore guys that join either branch may not be stars but the flex bone evens the odds.
Not to mention that the fitness standards undermine any pass blocking tackles by forcing them to be underweight by most teams standards. so they are kind of forced to run the ball. So what offense allows them to run the ball for numbers that makes up for their disadvantage passing? the flexbone option.
I know this video is old, but I go to Georgia southern and grew up watching them run the flexbone it can a nightmare to stop in real life too. The best way to beat it is try to put up points fast. Defense use the 46 bear defense it’s effective at loading the box and if your corners can do man coverage you’ll be fine.
I think Quarters out of a 3-4 bear front might help. it allows the safties to cheet up into or just behind the box, then the three d-linemen eat up the A and B gaps on both sides, allowing the backers and safeties to flow to the ball.
The best way to stop the option is go to adjustments and put it on aggressive so they focus on the fullback. Before the snap of the ball control one of the DE and control him to stay. Since you put it on aggressive the qb will pull the ball every time but your DE will stay and you tackle the QB every time
To stop this offense you have to follow the defensive keys. Guards will lead you to the play. We ran this in high-school and averaged 300 rushing yards and 34 points
If u played a good coach once u start loading the box and send that goal line blitz that qb is gonna take one big step back and launch it up to a tight end or the outside receiver or fake the hand off roll out and dump it over the top especially if they have one really good wideout
4-2-5 defence ....pinch the dline, spread mlb and put the cbs in press....but always have a safty in deep zone bc the press will make the cup go PA over the top
I exclusively run the Flexbone myself, and destroy that defense! Pinching the D-line makes it easier to run the offense, because it opens up more opportunities to run different plays that are super effective.
hey bengal just a thought, it might help you out a little to make your video titles for your series a little more consistent and recognizable. i scrolled right past this one
You passing lost you this game. Your either bad at passing or it’s because your trying to pass running the triple option. You only pass with 3rd and long or surprise plays not every down bro
I got toes callin young clipper phone where’s Ali with the mother hecking dope, I be ballin like a mother hecking pro, I be ballin, like my flipper mo (bamba) sheck Wes so sooo many flows
This is why every dynasty has Navy and GT Top 5 at some point. Even the sim thinks it’s unstoppable.
Kyle Murray look at navy , army and GT in real life . None of those teams are cupcakes. Those offenses are hard to stop
@@VisceralCarbon Huge pain for the defenses and their knees (literally in that case).

Just rush Everytime
Noticed that too
You’re surprised that Navy runs the triple option? Have you never watched them play in the last 15 years? Lol
Thats what i was thinking lol. This is why i never play air force or navy or army in my dynasties!

My man said are they running the wish bone 😂
LMAO, this makes me wanna run the wishbone in my dynasty now

Even with the loss it was still an entertaining game

Used to run the flexbone online with Andrew Luck and Stanford it was always fun getting hate messages after games win or lose

This is one of those games that would make me punch a hole in my tv
by far my fav episode of the series ... we kinda got a cup cake team in navy ... "playing navy"... idk what to do ahahahahahhaahahah
Bengals uploads out here saving the day
Navy is tough to stop in this game when they get rolling :(

Sorry I had to DISRESPECT the troops like that.
Omar Williams bru you made your RUclips name the player on the Team

Idk why but flexbone is so entertaining to watch sometimes
Zone Blitz, QB spy, QB contain, user cover pitch

Navy out here like a pop warner team coming out in one formation and running the same play over and over just changing who gets the ball
i had 4 fast running backs and wide receivers so i ran triple option out of the wishbone
Bangle it’s upgrading tackling on your coaching trees for cordnators. And Recroute heavily on. The top defense line men and linebackers
I have a dynasty rebuilding South Alabama where Navy and Army have both had 4 straight seasons with one loss or less

There running game is the best I’ve ever seen
..... going deep kills you soooo often...
I mean, thanks for your service and all Navy, but also go Outlaws.
@Allen Brooks I have too much time on my hands. Also, internet clout ;).
Cover both guards and stunt the d line so they're aggressive. Play with the lbs play man and tge 46

Gotta run goal line or similar, all man to man zone sucks against the run
use west Virginia play book with your team and go uptempo u should have success
Luv dis
4-3 press or 4-6 D with SS blitz?
YES MORE OZARK
You were up for just about the whole first half but it just felt like it was getting ugly early
Bengal can u do a mlb franchise again
Also yo Bengal, what ever happened to the RUclipsrs franchise ?
I'm guessing it fell apart for multiple reasons, including bad gameplay, bad coordination, and tight schedules.
Please just turn the tackling slider up a little. Just a bit
Whenever I played navy I just played field goal defense...
Why didnt you just put in a redshirt Freshman qb or a athlete reciver or so at qb
X was wide open last play…
My highschool bases our offense off of navy
Gotta stop being pass happy running the ball tires the defense
Michael Hill u right but rb sucks
@@CCOSTON25 pistol dive your running back is a star
335 stack, aggressive option run, user mlb and follow qb
Depending on the offensive play, that would be an easy Fullback give, or pass play.
My school runs flex bone
This offense is called the wing t I run it rn and I’m in highschool
No the wing t is something completely different
Why was the thumbnail wierd
More outlaws please.
Uses the triple option and passes more than you run? Just use spread option 😂
