- Welcome to the Meguiar's RUclips Channel.
Patrick, our resident videographer and photographer has been with us 5 months now and has NO IDEA how to take care of his car.
Many people like Patrick can sometimes get lost in the sea of car care products. What do I wash my car with? How can I keep it clean after I've washed it? It's the simple things that we want to help and educate you on.
So, introducing "Detailing 101". A step by step guide on the basics of car care, featuring Patrick and his BMW E36. During this series you'll see us educate Patrick on the most simple ways to Wash, Clean & Prep, Polish, Protection and Maintain his car.
Our aim is to share with you the simplest forms of car care, whether you're a non car guy, a car enthusiast, or someone that just wants to further their knowledge about detailing or the Meguiar's product range.
FINALLY! THE GLASS!
The easiest thing to miss when detailing your car is glass. However if done and done right, it can transform the way a car looks.
In today's Detailing 101, Dale helps Patch with getting is windscreen cleaned, cleansed and protected using our Perfect Clarity system. The first step is cleaning the glass. We use the Perfect Clarity Glass Sealant to give the glass a streak free clean. Then we move onto the Perfect Clarity Glass Compound to cleanse the glass in preparation for the Perfect Clarity Glass Sealant.
If you have any questions please feel free to leave a comment on the video or for any technical advise you can contact us on our social media platforms or via the contact us direct page on our website.

That sealant is utterly brilliant,,had it on my taxi for around 7 months now, it's still going strong and repelling water,,
Was researching about waterless wash and wax and came across you guys. Then saw the channel and this series in particular, bought all the products I needed to do all these steps, took a while as it was all by hand but I couldn’t be happier with the outcome. Thanks so much
Nice videos, helps a lot, helps to understand product for use. And yeah, think You haven't clean engine bay and maybe under body chacie would be worth. I like to clean mine after every winter. UK start using more salt on roads so causing rust. Regular chases maintenance is preventing rust so quickly.
Thanks guys.
Awesome suggestion thanks!
Hey guys, great video great product as always! I use this on my vehicle a few weeks ago and it does everything that you say it does. One of the things I noticed more than anything else is the reduced amount of times I need the wipers going over my screen but I think what I’m most impressed with is when you are on the motorway and it is raining the The rainwater seems to gather in small droplets/balls and just slips straight up and off the top of the windscreen when you would have your wipers on intermittent you virtually do not need to use the wipers as the rain drops just fly straight up and off the top of the windscreen and where I would normally use full wipers intermittent is great. And when I have my wipers is set on automatic sensors, with the causes that the water is beading away they do not activate anyway near as much as they used to.
So like with products, eventually over time you will need to be reapply some products to keep on top of it but with this particular product do you need to go back to step one with the compound then the sealant or can you just give it a fresh coat of the finishing sealant? And then maybe next time around after that then you go back to step one of the compound?? Thanks Baza.
It really depends on how dirty the glass is. Over time the sealant will become less and less protective however Dale has had is on for well over a month and it's still working brilliantly.
Meguiars Corporate need to publish these videos on the main channel. Enjoyable and informative to watch!
This is the UK's main channel! =D
@@meguiarsuk lol, Cheers from the US. Keep the great content coming!
Dale’s new favourite word is clarity
Proud user of Meguiars products for my BMW!!
Say what you like about Meguiars products (I think they’re good), but you can’t knock their videos. Very informative and easy-to-follow.
Great stuff as always chaps!
Suggestion...engine bay clean up video, please?
Perhaps the black plastic trim and rubber parts around the windows or the metal parts around the windows. Can you use Meguiar's NXT Generation All Metal Polish on the metal trim around the windows on the E46?
How does it perform in the dry? Does it get streaky when you use the washer fluid? Could you explain or demo the mirror bright products..
It won't affect vision in the dry no.
Engine bay detail ??
As a old school ex valeter, yes been there done that and got the Tshirt ( used the opposition stuff that Aston Martin ect like) 25 years ago but now a convert to meguiars. Yes most of your techniques I used back in the day but the products now are far better and your glass cleaner is the best I have ever used. But one question your special water is it just distilled water or is it similar to quick detailer and could you use distilled water if yours isn't available. Great series of videos pity about the sound levels lol.
The water is just tap water. nothing special. Maybe if you lived in a hard water area you might want to use distilled water yes.
@@meguiarsuk ok, thanks.
Hi guys! Great video as always. I’ve learned a lot from all of them. I have a 2018 rav4 and it has quite a bit of black plastic trim as well as a vinyl strip on the hood. Would you be willing to do a video on the cleaning and maintenance of these parts?
I have a truck you can work on next 😉
It needs a chassis clean, nice informative vids 👍🏻
Does the polishing compound leave white marks on rubber trim around the windows?
No all of our products are plastic and rubber friendly
Awesome video guys,I will have to try on mine when I get some,👍it does the job.
Is there any video’s on bring door trims back to black thanks guys 👍🏻
also use a stanley blade & clay bar to remove contaminants etc
Engine bay detail
A video of cleaning brakes and inner arch liners
Engine bay....cleaned and dressed video please
What’s the difference between the middle step and just claying the glass?
Clay will remove overspray and things like that but it wouldn't clean the glass like the cleaner or the compound.
To speed up time can you just use the compound on a DA?
It's designed to be applied by hand. As you saw in the video it really only took us 10 minutes to do the whole thing!
how long that glass polish and sealent can stay , for 1 month or more?
thanks a lot
Could you apply the glass sealant onto fresh clean glass? So shampoo with mitt, dry off, use a glass cleaner, then seal? Or is the compound afer glass cleaner recomended to get it super clean? Ive only ever used rain-x before and that was a nightmare as it didnt last long and went pretty smeary!
Absolutely you can however the compound ensures that the glass is completely clean and rid of any contaminants before the sealant is applied.
Is it the same process & products for interior glass?
Had a real bad experience with Rain X - would mist up the windows real bad whenever using the wipers. In the end, the Megs polishing compound is the only thing that took it off. Does your sealant suffer from the same issue of misting?
A slip of the tongue and a bunch of new subscribers Patrick? #outtakes
Hello Guy :).. wonderfull job 👍.. but i still have 1 question :).. im from Belgium so my english is not vry Good :).. i wanted know what you use for the last step to remove the scellant ? Not possible to remove with micro fibre ? Thx alot 🙏
Lots of people do not have pressure washers & snow foam lances, so could you do a piece on IK 9 Foamers being used with Meguairs Ultimate Snow Foam please ?
If you apply this and can’t buff it off due to leaving on to long, how do you remove it? Thanks
How often do I need to reapply the glass sealant and also once applied what's the best way to clean the glass? Thanks.
FF
Hi, I accidentally left it on too long. How can I remove it off my windscreen. It has light marks cross hatch of the product. Thanks
My dad has some chrome strips on the bottom of his ford galaxy it’s got a lot of dried water marks on them. Any vids you can do to show how you’d revive them please
Use a metal polish.
The NXT Metal polish would be the one to go for!
So after doing this do you use the glass cleaner after maintenance washes? Will the sealant stay applied?
Do you guys no longer sell this can’t find in U.S
How about a scratch x2 demo video please?
can it also remove water marks? or mineral deposits on glass? our water here in the philippines is hard water i heard that using hard water could cause water marks or mineral deposits
what if the glass gets wet the next day ?
What would you recommend for use on a sunroof? This sealant or is there something more appropriate?
Great job guys, very entertaining!! What the best way to clean the exhaust?
Did you clean the towels and the sponges after every use and how do you clean them?
What about the rearview side mirrors
First and good video
in wet weather can window wipers remove the products in this video?
Is it just me that thinks beading is the last thing i want on a windscreen? I find it distracting to the point of being dangerous even when i'm driving. I find it hard to know what to clean my windscreen with because some products leave a smearing effect behind a moving wiper, and others create beading.
I just want nice normal water drops when they hit (that don't move around too much like beads do), and no smearing.
For the 14th layer on my glass i like to use some ketchup, but take it right off!
Premium water??
I love this series but have a question on exhaust. I detailed my 2013 Buick Enclave this weekend for the first time myself. I would have never done this without watching this series. I washed clayed compound and polished using your ultimate products and then waxed using your black wax. The exhaust ports in the bumper are outlined with chrome. How do get the carbon exhaust off the chrome edges. I tried an all purpose cleaners and then some metal polish but no luck. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
NXT Metal polish is the product for the job. Try the Heavy Duty MPC. more advanced cleaning technology than the All Purpose Cleaner.
Does meguairs perfect clarity glass cleaner comes in aerosol form?
I have water stains on my windows and every product I’ve tried won’t remove them. If you want a good test for your products, you’re welcome to try them on my car
0 grade wire wool and either glass cleaner or glass polish bud
Give the glass cleaner and compound a go!
@@meguiarsuk I've tried glass cleaners and glass polishes, wont touch it
@@jakelovesey1211 thanks mate, will give it a try
Can this be used on all the windows?
Can you use it on inside?
Richard Webb Yes, no problem
@@Dwaynefreeman thanks
The perfect clarity glass cleaner of course!
Every nice krub
hi there
can this be used in the inside thanks
How long does the protection last?
Great videos. What about iron removers.
Wouldnt claying the glass have the same effect as the compound?
Similar but not the same. The compound really gives the glass some clarity too. Claying it would need you to clean it afterwards.
premium water ?
Can you do a engine bay video
Does it increase clarity ?
The stages before of Glass cleaner, Compound will make the clarity fantastic and then the sealant just enhances that!
Meguiar's UK I were taking the mick lads
Exterior detail on a wrapped car please
Engine bay cleaning
car pro ceriglass removes scratches iv removed scrathces using s20
I'm guessing you just use the glass cleaner in the inside of the glass, and that's it.
Top mais domage c'est pas en français
I just use car wax after cleaning with alcohol and a razor blade.
P.s can have my car in the bay to do my strips if u like it’s bit different it’s a Honda stream check my ig @that_uk_stream 😂😘
Tommy in the background gurning is clearly the greatest aspect of this video. the products are cool... BUT LOOK AT HIS LITTLE FACE
PS. Engine bay detailing / cleaning / dressing would be nice to see!
if i had to use a DA polisher to apply the compound what pad would i need to use to apply it ?
The red cutting disc!
Engine bay detail
Can I use a DA polisher with this?
