Thanks for the comparison. I personally like cronometer more because I can input my own data and track my own changes over time, especially with exercise activities, since my days vary a lot.
I came here after looking at some of the reviews of the RP Diet app (I have an old template but I found that too confusing, hence looking for an app). You mentioned in your RP review that they had a shopping list feature, which now I really want! Did any of these apps have a shopping list feature?
Cronometer has something like this where you can export a recipe and it gives you a list of ingredients. Check it out and let me know if that's what you're looking for (feastgood.com/recommends/cronometer-app/)
With Macrofactor can you turn off the calories self-correcting? I am working with a coach who is setting my macros and I want to follow that plan and not one set up by the app.
Sure. MacroFactor considers your activity level when providing the initial nutritional recommendations, but it doesn’t put much stock in exercise calories. Instead, the app looks at weight trends, body fat percentage, and other factors to determine your ideal calorie intake for your goals. Its built-in diet coach will adjust your intake based on how you’re progressing toward your goal. For example, if your goal is to lose weight but you’re losing weight too quickly then the app will add more calories back into your target. If you’re not losing weight at an appropriate pace, then the app will reduce your calorie intake. Cronometer’s default settings are to add calories burned through exercise back into the user’s daily calorie recommendations. This is useful for those who are trying to maintain or gain weight but it’s counterproductive for those trying to lose weight. That said, you can turn this off in your settings by clicking Settings > Targets > Energy Settings and then unselecting the “include exercise” option. Does that make sense or nah?
@@feast_good 100% and thanks! I just started using chronometer and I find it a little confusing. Absolutely trying to lose fat so I am going to turn that setting off. I am also integrating data from whoop.
Also struggling on where to set my target calories in in this app. so for instance, if I want to lose a pound and a half a week how do I adjust that? I also have the Renpho app which I believe is feeding Cronometer.
@@Lion-qi8ej Perfect, ya, definitely turn that setting off if your goal is weight loss. Cronometer can be overwhelming because there's a lot you can do with it. Let me know if you have any questions and I'll see if I can help.
@@Lion-qi8ej Ya, that's the tough part about Cronometer is you have to manually set your targets, and if you're not working with a nutrition coach you're simply just guessing. Without me gathering a bunch of information from you, I wouldn't be able to say what your calories should be to lost 1.5lbs per week. It sounds like you would actually benefit by switching to Macrofactor. Their algorithm will calculate all of that for you. Select the "Coached" version when you sign up and the algorithm is extremely accurate with your caloric recommendations. Plus it updates every week so that as you're making progress, your calories adjust to your current state. If you use Macrofactor you can get 2 weeks from by using our code FEASTGOOD. If you stick with Cronometer, I recommend working with a nutrition coach for a month just so you can get a baseline of where your calories/macros should be.
Slow down please (you have an accent for some of us)! You speak so fast about the features and show all the graphics so fast! Remember you are providing information that we need to absorb into our tiny little brains so we can make an informed choice! Thank you though, I still gave you a like and appreciate the video.
Everyone has an accent but I felt like she spoke very clearly and personally found easy to take in. You can adjust the playback speed though, if you ever want to slow down or speed up a video (cog icon at the bottom of the video).
She speaks pretty understandable. If you need more time, you could try pausing the video or using the feature called "playback speed"". You can find it in the settings of the particular video. Put it to 0.75 or 0.5 and enjoy =)

Thank you for presenting the availability of the full article up front, a time saver!
You're welcome. Most videos have an accompanied article.
I really like macro factor. The timeline is also nice to look at!
I agree about the timeline, too.

Exactly the video I was looking for. Thank you
Amazing. Did it help you make a decision?
@@feast_good Yes, I downloaded the two week trial and used your affialliate code.
This was extremely helpful. Thanks very much!

Yes, there is a manual mode that you can use. It lets you set your own macros, and they won't automatically update for you.
@@feast_good thank you so much!
