Thank you for this review. It was super useful! I'm on the MyFitnessPal premium and was looking for an app that shows all the nutrients which ended up being Cronometer. But then you mentioned International Traveling... I live in Panama, I'm from the USA, I do travel. I'm still going to use both apps this month and then make an informed decision.
Let me know what you think of Cronometer living abroad. I get SO MANY questions about that. You should upgrade to the "gold" level on Cronometer just so you're comparing apples to apples with MyFitnessPal Premium.
This was a great walkthrough and made it easy to choose an app to start with. I need to track calories but don’t need two apps and don’t have the time to try both. Great analysis and excellent video!
@@feast_good I went with Cronometer and paid for premium. So far - I like it a lot. I like the detail and how precise I can get, but I do wish there was a larger database. You highlighted this as a major difference between the two but even still, I’m liking it so far!
I had cronometer for years and really only used it the first year. I agree with a lot of what you said and found it was so time consuming and at times frustrating to be beholden to a food tracking app. I'm considering re-subscribing but am still on the fence. Thanks for your in depth review.
I think your experience is fairly common. You use the tools for a bit to gain an understanding of what foods are made of and the different quantities, then move to a more intuitive approach to eating. However, it's always good to use the tools if you're working toward a specific goal, or you want to hold yourself more accountable.
Thanks for the awesome review! I've been using the free version of Cronometer for about 3 months and love it. I don't see some of the tracking metrics you mentioned (measurements, customization), I'm wondering if you were using the gold version of cronometer? If so I'll GLADLY sacrifice 5 bucks a month.
Enjoyed your video! I have two questions. Is there an APP that I can use to just track my Carbs and Protien intake. I just need to track that now and want to keep it siimple. Next question is there a teen friendly app to help teens learn about health and nutrition and portion sizes. Thank you.
Yes, I recommend MacroFactor for any macro tracking capabilities. Watch my dedicated review video: ruclips.net/video/I3hcypmnAYw/видео.html. In terms of portion sizes for teens, I'm not entirely sure there's a specific app for that.
Both of these apps have a free version. Cronometer's free version is better IMO. Check it out and let me know if that's what you're looking for. I've tested a lot of apps so if it's not working for you I can recommend another.
Some apps will have an algorithm that figures this out for you. However, some apps are just meant for logging/tracking and won't provide any recommendations or personalization. For example, MyFitnessPal won't figure that out for you. If you're looking for something that acts like a coach and gives you a process for either maintaining, losing, or gaining based on individual factors, I'd suggest checking out MacroFactor. Here's the video of my review: ruclips.net/video/qSayi6Dt3To/видео.html&pp=ygUSbWFjcm9mYWN0b3IgcmV2aWV3. I think I have a code for 2 weeks free. Try "FEASTGOOD" when signing up.
I am a very new to try to track my food intake. And i am not so good at high technology. 😅I would like to know how much calories i am taking in a day. Basically, I like just tracking down my macro a day. Which app is the easiest for that purpose and also a free version?
Both apps will do what you're looking for free. But I would lean toward Cronometer as I think long-term, you'll find it more helpful (and cheaper if you decide to upgrade).
Current fees (7/2024) Cronometer 9.99 per month, 54.99 yearly. My Fitness Pal 19.99 monthly, 79.99 yearly.
Yup, Cronometer is cheaper on their paid plans.
Checking today Fitness Pal is just 45.9 yearly vs 54.9 for Cronometer

Thank you for this good comaprison of Cronometer VS MFP. It was easy to follow you and your explanation were clear.

Thanks this was really helpful, I re-subscribed to Cronometer :)
I definitely like how they're developing their data visualization more recently. Might make a separate video on that.
So Informative, thank you so much for your review. You swayed my opinion, thank you.And saved me money as well
You're welcome. What did you ultimately decide to try?
@@feast_good cronometer for the win 🏆

The customizations are on the Gold version. I'd recommend trying it out for a month and seeing if you like some of the upgraded features 😎
Thank you! Super helpful 🎉❤
You're welcome! Let me know if you have any questions
Thanks for the great details within this review. Do either of these companies offer a browser / desktop login, outside the app?
Cronometer has a desktop version. It also has a separate desktop version if you're a nutrition coach looking to manage client nutrition.
good video/review. very helpful!
Glad it was helpful! Let me know what you decided to try!

Do u have a platform that acurately tells how many daily calories to lose maintain or gain weight?

The limited database is a deal breaker because I'm not in America
Understandable. That's definitely something to consider when picking a macro tracker.
This would have been a great video if the speaker hadn't had so much coffee! I'm from New York and don't speak that fast.
This is good feedback. If you want to adjust the playback settings, you can adjust the speed to 0.75 or 0.5 by clicking the video settings.
Dude, I am from the south, and I understood every word.
Thanks for deep information
