I've been with Google for years so I really wanted a couple of Nest Audio speakers to work for me but after getting them home and listening to them in the intended room, they just weren't cutting it for me. I returned them and decided to give the Echo, 4th gen, a trial. Got them home and set them up....the sound was night and day better plus they provide the option to plug in an auxiliary item and also pair with a sub-woofer. Neither of these options are even available on the Nest. I was so impressed with the Echos that I purchased the sub woofer immediately and, as usual for amazon, it was at my front door the next day. It of course has added a whole new dimension of sound to the set up. So impressed with this experience I am seriously going to have to re-think my loyalty to Google for any future smart home equipment.
Thanks for keeping things simple for technophobes like me. I'm looking into using VoIP with my Virgin Media ISP. Any ideas ? Maybe a future video idea as everyone will be on VoIP from 2025 when BT withdraw copper cable phones. - Thanks Paul
I use soho66 as my voip supplier, I have both physical voip phones from granstream and acrobits as a app on the iPhone both work as if they were a physical landline and cell phone (subject to internet connection) and you can also get a adapter for normal phones which I’ve not tried but soho66 has worked flawlessly for about 10 years
