I have the full Alexa household and have been collecting them for about 4 years - however - I think Googles ecosystem and products are more solid and future proof- and I'll be making the switch this year. Alexa is REALLY smart if you want to buy something from Amazon - beyond that, she's actually pretty dumb, bless her.
My Google Audio just answered when you asked about the weather...Just bought the Google and it's really very good, have it connected to my Google nest battery doorbell camera which I bought at the same time and yes the battery version does let you know via Nest Audio that someone is at the door despite comments to the contrary. It also has a nice selection of chime sounds too. Going to buy a Amazon Echo Dot while black friday is still on. I also have a Google Nest Home Hub Max arriving tomorrow ( due to buying Nest Audio firs where one or two comments said that it does not connect to Google Nest Doorbell Camera battery powered...liars). Yay! Smart lightbulbs are my next purchase. Update: just bought the Amazon Echo 4th Gen instead of the Echo Dot {£49.99) which also came with a Philips Hue White Single Smart Bulb LED...nice.
When you said ok Google play gen x radio my google mini picked up the you tube audio on my phone which wasn’t very loud and immediately responded and played gen x radio 😂
6:20 I use Google assistant on my phone often and it suffers from the exact same thing. It doesn't matter how clearly I speak or how close to my phone I am, it just ignores me for a time or two before even registering
Just bought the current Gen 4 Echo vs current Google Nest for comparison myself. Out of the box with default, the Echo’s treble was terrible and the bass on the Google was just average. But have to say, with the right EQ adjustments on both, the Echo has the more fuller sound. Even the highs are more perceptible. Was comparing both in a 20’x35’ living room and 25’x35’ garage. I have both Google and Alexa ecosystems, so no biased here. Just straight want best sounding smart speaker for my garage while I do work. Tested lows using Solar Sailor by Daft Punk and Talking Body by Tove Lo. And highs used Hotel California (Acoustic) by Eagles. On Talking Body, and SS, the low was nearly nonexistent on the Google, but present on the Echo. 😂 Lol. And on Hotel California, the Google mids seemed too pronounced, while the Echo seemed more balanced.
If you are looking to play a lot of music, Google has had 2 very serious update problrms, last year for months your connected speakers had horrible snapping and crackling issues which took 6 months to solve. Currently this entire year the connectivity to speaker groups and stereo pairs have been erratic and sometimes just stop working and disappear.
Google nest rarely can answer what I ask it compared to Google assistant on my phone. I often get anterior saying it can't do that until I verify my voice, which I already have... many times.
You need a Google Action for your radio station. Luckily, once live anyone with a device that includes Google Assistant can instantly tune into your station without installing anything (unlike Amazon). I have a nest mini but damn they have ruined it its not that fun you can play tons of games on Alexa and none on the mini just rock paper scizors and idk maybe some other boring stuff…Not entertaining at all when Im bored AND THATS THE REASON I BOUGHT IT IN THE FIRST PLACE!!!😢
I have a ring doorbell that Alexa tells me out loud when there's a person detected at my door.... Does Google next speaker do the same if I get a nest doorbell? I hope so, we're getting the nest doorbell installed soon 😢
I’m trying to find out which is smarter, amazon’s or google’s. I had google nest mini since almost 4 years, i’m using it everyday for many tasks and it’s still dumb tbh. I thought it will keeps learning by time but unfortunately it is not ! So my question here, is amazon’s smarter than google’s ?
@@Radiodotco normal stuff, lights on/off, play music,.. etc but the issue here is google sometimes does not understand what i’m saying. And i’m pretty sure my accent and the things I say were clear for anyone who understands English. Anyway, I got echo dot, it’s way smarter than google. And much funnier too. It’s the 4th btw. And the speaker sound is good enough for me comparing to google nest mini is greater.
Oh one more thing, I loved the whisper feature. I need it when someone sleeps in my bedroom for a while. Remember the last time you whispered to someone and they said “what? Why are you whispering?” Loudly? This is google. Lol
I bought Amazon echo last Christmas and a google nest which I gifted to my friend. Im so disappointed how Echo’s intelligence is degrading over time. It feels like its getting dumber. You need to say wake up word multiple times and issue commands repeatedly cause it doesn’t get it the first or second time. Previously it understands full volume but lately it wont accept full volume command but instead specific volume level. Sometimes it accept continue but not understand resume sometimes the other way. I searched about echo getting dumber over time and unfortunately, its pretty common issue with echo. Im now very much tempted to steal my friends google nest and replace it with my echo. Nest has pretty good hearing commands while playing loud music. 😂😂😂
You have the recording room, you have the light setup, you even have the multiple cameras (unnecessary), but you don't have the microphones. I can't hear what you are saying
To be honest with you Alexa isn't so bright. You have to talk to it like a computer code. But I can use country slang or any dialect with Google and it immediately understands what I'm trying to say without having to say Alexa all light on....😅😅 That's not even how we speak.
Alexa is like that not-so-bright cousin that you feel sorry for after speaking with them at Thanksgiving. Bless her heart.
Alexa, stop music. ALEXA, stop music. ALEXA STOP MUSIC. *gets up and turns her off manually*

Impressed by Mediatek's commitment to privacy and innovation in voice tech. The era of Smart Speakers has never looked brighter!
Gonna pick up an echo dot for my room

Thank you. This was the best and simplest explanation of the differences.

How do I set up 'hey google, play x radio station'?... We would like to add our radio station to this functionality.

Alexa cant open RUclips music. Google nest does.
That was a big factor when picking mine, that’s a part why I chose it
I wonder if they can play songs without relying on the mobile device and can they be active all the day to listen and play what user say.
You need a mobile device to set them up, but after that, you can just use the smart speaker :)
Great video mate, it needs more views
Thanks! :D
9:36 has editing issue with the name not being changed to google's product. I'm paying attention haha! Great vid!
Whoops! Well spotted!!
I prefer Google ecosystem 💯
Obviously

How can you review a product and forget about the Google Home max? Google doesn't have just to speakers.
