Just to put into perspective how powerful the Presence is; If I build a computer and that computer has programs on it I am not tied down to the laws of the computer. When the computer shuts off I won't die because I created it, I am outside it, and the laws in that motherboard and screen don't apply to me. The Presence created everything in the DC universe therefore He is not tied down by his creation. No thing and no one that exists within those pages can harm him. He exists on a completely different plane of existence.
I haven't read much of Lucifer's run of comics so I don't know much about the present. I only know from what I read from Volume 1 of Lucifer & the first few comics of his current run

So is Superman both of them have plot on their side always. Batman doesnt have plot in his side when fighting Superman. In fact he never defeated Superman in canon. Only during tower of babel Van dal savage used batmans plans to defeat justice league and defeating Superman was about use his sympathy for people against him. I can give an explanation of the source for you. I draw this analogy from a guy who worked in the comics industry and was kind enough to try and explain concepts like the source to me as a 7 year old child with a christian background who also read a bit of the comics from Superman, Flash and GL. He said to imagine God(The Presence) as an ultra powerful green lantern. Instead of a power battery or lantern, he stores his energy outside of the universe and is able to draw on that power infinitely. His full power must be stored outside of that reality because bringing that much energy in all at once would be too much for any universe to handle. It was rough trying to wrap my mind around that at 7 but the analogy works pretty well now that my brain is far more developed. He also explained that other characters can potentially draw on that power because, much like my religion teaches, they are a part of him and are therefor not a separate entity somehow stealing from God. He does however have the ability to control that flow and the use of it's abilities because duh, he's God. Having his power located outside of that reality is also why he can seemingly be killed and then reform instantly with no damage actually taken. His life force is the source. His Presence is just his fraction of himself that he uses to interact with his creations despite never actually fully being there. I added that last part but, it just makes sense to me. Let me know if this is helpful in understanding the source or if I'm wrong and it's been clearly explained in a comic I didn't read. If I am wrong and it was explained, please leave said explanation in reply. I'd really like to know. Thank you.

No presence is not the writer unlike the one above all. It was refered in Marvel comics that above all is Stane lee. While presence in DC has refered to the writers as higher level of beeings. Also Presence was not capable of handling the great evil beast and has said that the great evil beast is the opposite of himself sort of like yin yang. Also in lucifer issues michael domirgus and lucifer morningstar are the angels of presence but could go against the will of presence.

I can give an explanation of the source for you. I draw this analogy from a guy who worked in the comics industry and was kind enough to try and explain concepts like the source to me as a 7 year old child with a christian background who also read a bit of the comics from Superman, Flash and GL. He said to imagine God(The Presence) as an ultra powerful green lantern. Instead of a power battery or lantern, he stores his energy outside of the universe and is able to draw on that power infinitely. His full power must be stored outside of that reality because bringing that much energy in all at once would be too much for any universe to handle.
It was rough trying to wrap my mind around that at 7 but the analogy works pretty well now that my brain is far more developed. He also explained that other characters can potentially draw on that power because, much like my religion teaches, they are a part of him and are therefor not a separate entity somehow stealing from God. He does however have the ability to control that flow and the use of it's abilities because duh, he's God.
Having his power located outside of that reality is also why he can seemingly be killed and then reform instantly with no damage actually taken. His life force is the source. His Presence is just his fraction of himself that he uses to interact with his creations despite never actually fully being there. I added that last part but, it just makes sense to me. Let me know if this is helpful in understanding the source or if I'm wrong and it's been clearly explained in a comic I didn't read. If I am wrong and it was explained, please leave said explanation in reply. I'd really like to know. Thank you.
