Yangsun's mother forgot one of the reasons why her husband said he wanted a divorce. He said he couldn't come back to the life style of always wanting more. The father carried the financial load while she stayed at home in luxuries. She had very few skills. I understand her wanting the best for her daughter. But, she should take her own life into account. A husband with money is not always the best choice. Character should play a greater role.
This is the first time in this series that I have felt sorry for Yangsun. Her mother's behavior is doing nothing but making her (Yeongsuk) look like a classless, inconsiderate, uncouth hag. If she truly loved her daughter Yeongsuk wouldn't be trying to purposely humiliate Yangsun by acting like that.
Rockwarrior21 if you already watched it, why do you come here and spoil the episodes for us? If you don't like the characters it's alright to complain but the rest of the watchers aren't at fault. Besides, I do like Chiwung. I like that the female lead has a strong personality and the male is not weak but timid. It doesn't follow the typical chauvinist standards. And I totally disagree with you about saying he's not manly enough. Manly isn't synonymous of being brave. What they're dealing with at the moment has to do with how confident they are about themselves now. At the beginning, Yansung was the timid, running away from her past and the loan sharks, being unable to do what she really wanted, now that she's accomplished her dream (with Chiwung's help and support ) she's more confident about herself and braver, so she stands up to her mother and Seongil. On the other hand, Chiwung's self-steem is really low at the moment, having disappointed his father because for ence in his life he did what he really wanted. He feels diminished in front of a raising star like Seongil. So I don't see why can't Yangsun be brave and strong for both of them (nothing says more 'I love you' than 'I want to help you make your dreams come true') since Chiwung has always been there when she's most needed someone. Sorry for the long testament but I really wanted to say that.
I'm only watching ... because I'm hoping the Suri will snap and just beat the living crap out of Seongil with a baseball bat ... the more I watch, the more I find my self supporting Suri.
I would support Suri if her motive was that of an investigative reporter not a jilted ex-girlfriend hell bent on destroying the lives of 2 people she blames for her unhappy life! She just comes across as wicked right now.
