I'm fairly certain I have Celiac. I've been gluten-free for about 4 days and already feel better than I've felt in a year or so! I've had nagging stomach/digestion issues, constant fatigue, and brain fog like I never thought was possible. I've been so excited about the improvement that I haven't really had time to digest the thought of eliminating gluten from my diet from here on out. Just glad to finally have some answers to the horror I've been living with for over a year.
I am sorry you are going through that but I am glad you are getting some answers. Have you gone to get tested for celiac? I would be careful eliminating gluten prior to getting tested because it can interfere with the test. Best of luck to you!
Oh Amy, I didn’t realize you had celiac too!! I was diagnosed about 10ish years ago and both my kids are also diagnosed. It was so so so tough 10+ years ago to feed a toddler GFDF! much easier now. Keep making videos, I enjoy them so much ❤😊
My symptoms before being diagnosed with celiac were chest discomfort, headaches and a weird sensation in my upper gut/lower chest. Just diagnosed in July of this year.
I am glad you were able to get diagnosed. How long did it take for you? I have heard it can take people several years to get diagnosed, luckily for me my DR was well aware (even though I was not) Thank you for being here and sharing!
I don't know if I can tell you which website as some channels don't allow it, but one off the major Celiac disease sites referred to a study suggesting that the lack of absorption of carnitine may contribute to people with Celiac Disease being overweight. The study was presented at Digestive Disease Week in May of this year. Carnitine is an amino acid that helps convert fat into energy. It will be interesting to follow this new research. Wouldn't it be nice if a simple carnitine supplement would help us lose weight?
My back was hurting so my dr did a blood test. Came back high enzymes in my liver. Dr did a liver blood test and came back positive for celiac. Going for my endoscopy end of the month. Looking back, i was tired, light stools, vomiting 2-3 days a week, etc. Started eating gf and felt better but like you mentioned, dr wanted me to continue gluten until the endoscopy. Just fyi about mcdonald's, at least here, the fries only go in a dedicated fryer just for fries so i eat those. Also, the taco bell thing is strange because i buy the taco bell hard shells and they say gf on the box. Im pretty much gf but i still eat some gluten everyday until the test. Thank you for the info.
check out the medical medium....explainns how EBV virus triggers all this stuff and how u can reverse it. I also had high enzyme in liver and i tested positive for EBV same time, then developed thyroid issues and also celiac 6 months later...its all connected.
Hi, sorry for my delayed response here as I work through some things..I am sorry you are having issues with celiac, best thing to do is stay gluten free. I currently don't drink, but when I did I stuck to hard seltzers, wine and Tito's vodka. You have to be careful of hidden gluten even in alcohol. Hope that helps!
Hi, I would say the best thing would to ask your family practitioner for recommendations for a reputable gastroenterologist and maybe have them perform the initial blood work for you. Good luck!
well that should tell us all how bad gluten is for celiac people or non celiac as well. If your body is fighting to protect you from this its a sign to get rid of it.

I feel like the social aspect of living with celiac is what makes it the hardest for me!
For me as well. 😔

Another hidden gluten containing ingredient is soy sauce. Tamari or coconut aminos can be substituted instead.
Or you can just buy gf soy sauce
Yes, I like both of these!
Yes, another option!
HOW CAN I FIND A REPUTABLE DOCTOR WHO CAN CONDUCT A THOUGH EXAMINATION? I LIVE TORRANCE, CALIFORNIA.

I can't say for non celiacs but for celiacs it is definitely a fight or flight type situation
