@@Kernel80 i don't think that's what he is implying. For me, it seems that Fed just has some sociopathic tendencies that he himself may not be aware of. Either way, there's nothing wrong in wishing for him to BE better as a human, i mean, that itself is what his friends want. Lily even said that she is ready to help Fed whenever he needs it because she still loves him very much. If that's what the people close to Fed wants, we should just support it and avoid further useless hate which will just brew more problems. Judgement is still to be accepted of course but we want ALL of them to be doing fine, right? :))
@@toastedbun9349 I have a hard time believing that interpretation, and while I think it comes from a good place it's a pretty naive and inadvertently rude way to think. Lots of people immediately and only supported Fed through this, and while it is empathetic to consider his mental well-being alongside others, it's also extremely disrespectful to the *actual* victims of this situation to turn your affection to Fed but not also give them that courtesy. Fed definitely has some shit to learn, and it's plausible that he'll come out of this a better person after some serious psychological introspection and refinement, but that doesn't mean he was powerless to do anything at the hands of his mental state. Regardless of whether he qualifies as having "sociopathic tendencies", he was almost certainly conscious of what he was doing and how fucked up it was and did nothing to rectify it. Sociopathy isn't like schizophrenia or bipolar disorder or OCD where you periodically lose control of your mind. It's just a description of someone with a weaker capacity for empathy, and while your place on that spectrum isn't in your control, your self-education and self-discipline in response to those impulses is. People should be held accountable for how carefully they've considered how their behavior affects others, and these tendencies don't exempt him from that standard (if, of course, he even qualifies, which is something none of us know him well enough or are qualified to diagnose).
In some sense we DO want them to all be fine, but there's a point where the person in question stops deserving that courtesy, namely (in my opinion) when they've clearly demonstrated that they don't reciprocate that good will to others that deserve it or clearly need it. Frankly, Fed's apology seemed pretty weak and not focused on actually apologizing, and instead was a classic example of being sorry that he got caught, not sorry for what he did. Acknowledging and being openly upset about that in conjunction with what he actually did to his friends doesn't constitute "useless hate which will just brew more problems." If anything, complacency in the form of "I hope Fed is fine" is the real problem, because it demonstrates to him or to anyone learning from his experience that what he did actually wasn't that big of a deal, and that he'll face minor or even negligible consequences coming out of it. If you really want to be helpful to him during these times (that is, helpful to his reform and growth as a person, which is really the only justifiable help one should be offering him at this point), you should be honest to him and honest to yourself that he fucked up, and that he doesn't deserve praise or support until he has actually done something worth praising or supporting.
