- The city of Oribos serves as the crossroads of the Shadowlands. Here, mortal souls are judged by the Arbiter before being sent to their final destinations, and shadowy denizens swap gossip and anima-the soulborn essence that fuels the Shadowlands.
Oribos is in the care of the Attendants, mysterious beings who were created to tend to the Eternal City and ensure the Arbiter carries out her duties without interruption. Their decisions are guided by “the Purpose,” the belief that the Shadowlands follows a pattern laid out by the Arbiter in her infinite wisdom.
From her sacred chamber atop the very crown of Oribos, the Arbiter has judged every mortal soul crossing into the Shadowlands since the dawn of time. But now, instead of being shepherded to their deserved fate, all souls are flowing past the dormant Arbiter and hurtling directly into the horrors of the Maw. The desperate Attendants have sought in vain to unravel this mystery, causing some to question their own unwavering faith in the Purpose.

I have finally finished watching all of your Warcraft videos. It took me years, as I have been listening to the music on and off while studying and writing my dissertation. I can't thank you enough for producing such high-quality content over all these years. I may not play WoW now but the memories from the last two decades will always last and your videos scratch that bittersweet nostalgia itch.
I am writing this message on your last video, as a bookmark, patiently and kindly awaiting whichever content you plan on uploading next.

man i actually started "playing serious" in shadowlands and its insane what this sound track means to me haha. The guild runs, m+ friends, super late night mount runs... After everything, you always hearth and this soundtrack just hit diff. I know the xpac was looked down upon by many, but it was still a ton of fun runnin around with friends and really getting into what the game offers

Many people hated Shadowlands, but as a player that discovered WoW at the end of BfA, I won't ever forget the good memories this xpac gave me. A lot of friends, fun, and the pleasure of discovering new cities, populations, really good ambience and music. There certainly was a lack of content, timegating, legendaries, borrowed powers, this xpac had a lot of problems... but I will never forget the emotions it gave to me. Bye SL and welcome DF
Agreed! The important thing is joy and memories we gather playing, and being happy with it. It musn't matter how it influenced the game, we must not allow it to turn into a burden or a chore. It must be a joy, a happy time that will later turn into a good memory ^^♡

Agreed. I started WoW near the end of Season 3, got my best friend to join me in Season 4. Maybe it's because the Renown timegating wasn't a thing at that point or because the expansion mostly complete by then, but we genuinely enjoyed what we experienced with Shadowlands.

I came back to wow many years after ending my journey in Wraith. Shadowlands was my first xpac. Yes, there were challenges, but I won't forget stepping back into this game and finding my paladin where i left her, in Borean Tundra at Amber Ledge. Going to back to Chromie to experience TBC and then going through the Suramar quest line and finally making my way to Shadowlands. For what it was, I did enjoy shadowlands, but I'm loving Dragonflight and I'm looking forward to the future and hoping these gen x reflexes and still hang with the rest of you.
It was the worst expansion ever and they probably wont go lower than SL, but i'm glad some people liked it, this is the magic of WoW!

Never know why ppl constantly find something to hate on wow. This xpac killed it and while I appeared every 3/4 months its like I dont know how to play any other way now, theres just no time (and im an uni student) and dunno how other ppl with jobs do. Maybe if u are a concurrent player and somehow find the time its a different thing, but to me, it knocked it way out of the park. Such immersion (bigger than dragonflies. Its hard to find how the lore ties into the universe. It feels milked). And just everything was epic (cept the jailer). You’re fighting for the fabric of reality for chrissake, show some enthusiasm

What I love about this area is the transition music from Oribos to the covenant realms. Each one is fantastic

i may hate this expac, but man do i love it. SL was the first expac i really knew what i was doing, and i will always remember the immeasurable amounts of fun i had in my first run through 50-60. henceforth, this music is going to make cry soon.

I quit WoW during Battle for Azeroth but this compilation is very beautiful. Glad to hear the music is still awesome. I hope we get a compilation of Burning Steppes/Searing Gorge/Blackrock Mountain someday.

@@mcaps3427 Hi! As someone who has done a lot of rerolls (in my time, 10 years ago that is lmfao) I can telll you my personal favorites :
Night elves. Teldrassil is so chill. It was so beautiful in vanilla. (Textures are hard to watch now, but the atmosphere is so good). Ashenvale is a very good zone too (but Cata kinda destoryed it :/)
Dwarves newbie zone (Dun Morogh) has good environments and maybe one of the best ost in entire vanilla, if not all expansions. (IMO of course). There are beautiful landscapes in the areas nearby as well.
Cons : questlines in these zones are mostly from vanilla, so it is quite dated.
Undead is pretty fun too. I like Undercity as a capital, even if there isn't much to do there. Plus the Warcraft III lore.
Honorable mentions : Panda zone is kinda neat. Good music. Worgen zone is pretty cool too, and has a fun starting quest.

I am listening to this with headphones and noticing a pretty heavy hum coming from the ambience, making me sometimes look up to look for the helicopter I’m expecting to see outside. I never noticed this him in the game, was it always this prominent?
Really sad that you deleted most of the Skyrim and Oblivion 10-hour / rainy soundtracks recently... I listened to those a whole lot, they helped me relax and sleep 😢

Hello Everness, I know this video is of a different topic. Please forgive me. I just want to say I love your Skyrim music vids. They've helped me fall asleep many times at night. That being said, I wanted to ask you whatever happened to the Skyrim Atmospheres 12 Hour Track. That one was PERFECT. It was beautiful and dark. The rain really added to the dark atmosphere. I know your probably a really busy person but if you could, could you possibly consider re-uploading it again?🙏

Let me say first, I fucking hated Shadowlands.
That said, the first 2 months were some of the best WoW I've played since Legion. I was so happy they brought back Honor Points and the zones were amazing to quest in

Everness, I love your work. But I had to spend far too many hours sitting in this airport of a zone XD. I am not revisiting that.
I respect that. Have you heard of the idea that Oribos wasn’t planned to be the sanctuary during early stages of development? Only a transit like zone, more or less. There are quite a few things pointing at Tazavesh(?), the brokers dungeon from 9.1, being the actual main hub. I don’t know enough reliable information on the subject, but if you’ve ever been there it’s _very_ easy to believe.
@@Everness1 I would have loved if they gave us city-like amenities at each of our covenant sanctums. Imagine if we literally only needed to spend time in Oribos to grab our Great Vaults. Imagine banking + buying PVP gear beneath the canopy of the Heart of the Forest!

Hot Take: Shadowlands was much better than Dragonflight, it just had unfriendly systems that needed to be more alt friendly or easier to swap (covenants)
