Gone are the days of coming home, getting dinner ready, making sure the son had his homework done, and then logging into WoW the evening's entertainment. Whether it was questing, raiding, helping guildees or farming materials. Those were good times. My time with WoW ended during Wrath. Now there are just the memories helped by streaming Meisio's channel. Some memories long since forgotten that seem like they just happened yesterday.
And with new ways to play. I also quit after Wrath, but Hardcore and Classic brought me back. Hardcore is a warm and inviting place, full of helpful and friendly folks just trying to stay alive and relive old times… with that devilish one-life twist.
The hours I spent here. I used to fish these zones later just to be surrounded by the big trees, listening to the zone music. Chatting with the guild. Nostalgia for a digital age. Thank you Meisio. I feel like you made this just for me.
That moment in Grizzly Hills where you remove the UI, zoom into your character and listen to this music as a herd of wild mustangs run before you. When my WoW days are over, my character will make one final journey walking into Grizzly Hills. Find a log cabin, set a fire outside, settle down and enjoy the retirement after fighting for Azeroth for years. I will then logout with this moment being my last of WoW and look back with nothing but amazing memories of the community, the atmosphere, the challenges and the fun times.
I have had a very special connection to this zone since it was one of the first zones I took a strong liking to while I sat on my dad’s lap and watched him play WoW when I was younger. Now, listening to this music, the memories are flooding back and I can’t figure out who’s cutting onions in my house, thank you!
Just had a baby, and work and family are keeping me busy but if not for all these wonderful things I would be setting off on an adventure in Northrend on Classic.
I wasn’t on Earth yet when this expansion was new. My parents tell me about how they played everyday, and loved every minute of it. I used to play, started at the end of warlords. I think I might someday go back to this game, but recently I have been really disappointed. Is it possible to miss something you were never a part of? I think so.
I mean Classic WOTLK will be around soon enough. Don't let the nostalgia-driven folks tell you it won't be incredible. I played originally and I actually am having more fun around the 2nd time with Classic, purely because of my playstyle and desire to play the game for fun and not simply goal-whacking.
What do you mean you weren't on Earth when WotLK came out, it literally came out like 7 years ago *checks calendar* Oh...I...better go take my arthritis medication
Thank you so much for all of the hard work you put into this channel. I usually use the WoW soundtracks I purchased to fall asleep but I replaced those with these videos, as they combine enough visual stimulation with the gorgeous zones and the smooth camera pans, white noise from zone ambience, and the beautifully composed score. I grew up with this game starting with The Burning Crusade, I would always watch my uncle play Vanilla/Classic, I saw him enter Un’goro Crater for the first time and was blown away. I kept playing casually, going around town to town, quest giver to quest giver, actually reading quest dialogue, and made my own story while exploring and avoiding the war as much as possible as I was pretty neutral to both sides of the war despite being Alliance. Stopped playing after Cataclysm launched, I both loved and hated the expansion, I love most of the new zones, but hated the changes it brought upon Kalimdor and the Eastern Kingdoms but I’m just being a broken record at this rate. I may not always leave a like (as I usually forget) but it’s VERY rare I leave a comment. I just wanted to take some time and thank you for all the work you do. I can’t wait to go back into my dreams and relive my days of a fresh faced adventurer seeking out new locals, and helping out people along the way.
Going against your nature and living a like and a comment makes me feel special :) ♥️ Thank you for sharing your childhood memories with us, it looks like you had an awesome childhood and a very cool uncle :) Please stop by more often Lance ;) Meisio
for the longest time, my mage's hearthstone was saved here, in grizzly hills, because you never know when you might need to chill back, fish in the pond, listen to the beautiful soundtrack (plus i had teleportation to wherever i wanted basically) i can never forget the first time i came here, it was such a contrast between my expectations of WoTLK being an all gloomy, sad, and frightening expansion, themed around the undead and the scourge, and between grizzly hills where everything is almost perfect, from the dazzling nature, the funny quests (did them all, read their description all, i remember them all still ^^), and where the shadows of icecrown are but a hidden relic beyond those stretching pine trees, eagles taking flight, rivers flowing with life. i really, really loved it here. its one of the few zones in wow where coming there feel like "coming home" for me.
Grizzly Hills Walk Night 6 -- might be my favorite piece of WoW music ever. Takes me back to when life was simple and everything felt good. Will always be grateful for all the childhood memories made in zones like Grizzly Hills. 🙂
There is definitely something spiritual about this zone and even Blizzard tuned into it. The quest where you climb the mountain and cleanse your spirit, then slowfall back down the mountain... it's like letting go of the weight of the world. This zone was a sanctuary and a place of rest when most of the world was full of darkness.
I remember going to Blizzcon in 2007 and having the Howling Fjord as a the "beta" zone you got to run around in. The transition from that zone to Grizzly Hills was the most memorable experience I had of this game, incredible.
Wrath was the first expansion I got to max level. I started at the age of 11 in '06, I was level 50 when the expansion came out so I was behind the curb on starting my dk, which as an 11 year old that's all I wanted to play. I was terrible at the game back then so it took me like a week to get to level 55. I almost gave up, and if I did I would of never sailed to the howling fjord or roamed the grizzly hills. Needless to say the tons of friends I've made and all the experiences I've had with this game it would have been a real tradgedy to miss out on all of it. Thanks for bringing back my childhood, life today as a 26 year old single father is hitting different, and I mean more like a blunt force object.
So many amazing memories. Brings me back to a time before I had a career, family, responsibilities. When life was easy just simply log on and enjoy WoW. Got my first max level toon on this expansion.
To me 22:40 and following perfectly illustrates the depth WoW's ambient soundtrack used to have. Grizzly Hills is a pretty zone without any immediate threat and yet the music isn't just "generic happy forest music", at times it sounds almost like Duskwood. It never just describes what you can already see with your eyes, it always adds a little more mystery to it, as if there was a completely different setting right around the corner waiting to be discovered. You will find this for every great piece of ambient music in the game, from Elwynn Forest to Nagrand to Storm Peaks.
@@nickivan9583 And yet this is sadly another zone in WOTLK which has so much potential wasted. This could very well be the most important zone lorewise in whole WOTLK and even beyond. It literally kick started events like Emerald Nightmare, Fall of Fandral Staghelm, absence of Malfurion and many other things. And the only thing we get is some shitty outside PVP (which generally did not work at all until BfA) and another Troll themed dungeon. They really dropped it here. A nature themed dungeon really would have lifted this zone.
It’s weird. I wasn’t here when wrath was new. I started playing these last 3 years and never played wrath campaign. But the grizzly hills music makes me feel nostalgia lol. I have played a different mmo for a long time so I know how it feels to love a game and make memories so maybe it’s that. They nailed this
I’ve watched/listened to quiet a few Grizzly Hills videos because even my cat loves the music. She gets all excited and all lovey when that violin chimes in at the start, but after that I go on to something else. This is the first one allowed to play for most of its duration and I’m very thankful for your beautiful work here. Cheers to ya and keep up the great job. ❤️
My cat loves this music too, always jumps on my desk and dozes off next to the monitor when i am in grizzly Hills, i have the soundtrack download on my phone for him, he curls up and sleeps soundly to it
the memories come back. one can only experience this once, the first time. looking back, it was a meaningful way to spend time in my life. thank you for this

I’ve never played WoW but I play this music to my kids every night as they go to sleep. Tonight, they asked me “Is Grizzly Hills a cool game Dad? I said “I wouldn’t know lads. But maybe we’ll play it together one day.” 🤞🙂
