Revendreth - Music & Ambience | World of Warcraft Shadowlands

- Revendreth is a realm of the Shadowlands founded by Sire Denathrius and inhabited by the Venthyr Covenant. It is a land of gothic spires and dark secrets, and no soul wishes to end up here. Souls sent here by the Arbiter tend to be prideful or have some other flaw preventing them from serving in or going to one of the other realms, and they come here to atone for their sins and hopefully be redeemed, as the alternative is being cast into the Maw. It is the duty of the vampiric venthyr to prepare the souls-through unimaginable torment. Although the realm is mostly shrouded in darkness, there are parts of Revendreth where light has broken through the clouds and seared the earth. Many of the souls in Revendreth are vulnerable to the light and have been chained up in these areas.
A realm of looming keeps and gothic villages, Revendreth is home to the venthyr, the harvesters of sin. The wretched souls who arrive here may find penance for their misdeeds... or merely indulge the appetites of their keepers.
The major vista of the region is its gigantic castle, sprawling over a misty forest. The castle's entry ward itself is suffering disrepair, as are the buildings and structures across the grounds, as the region is deprived of new souls and their precious Anima. Sinstones, gravestones with the soul's crimes listed upon it, litter each pathway. Souls sent here can etch these sins off their stones over time as they are prepared for the afterlife by the venthyr. The fog-filled forest is where the venthyr schedule hunts on tortured souls, sending them out with a false sense of hope and security, then track them down and "humble" them. The catacombs are where souls are locked away for eons until sufficiently humbled to warrant being transferred to the Halls of Atonement. There all souls must go through the Ritual of Absolution at least once to be cleansed of sin fully, and the Ritual of Judgment for their final fate to be decided. Some souls however are kept in Castle Nathria for the nobles to enjoy. Another notable area is the Ember Ward, found on the western side of the region. There the light has actually broken through and is extremely harmful to Revendreth's residents. The crumbled walls and fragmented landscape is due to the anima drought and devourers.

Just in time for Hallow's End!
This zone has a certain charm, liked by some of you. But in my opinion, the music upgrades it a lot. The Tim Burton's accents influences are obvious in my opinion.

Wasn't a Sinfall castle theme TOTALLY stolen from Van Helsing masquerade scene? :)
6:16 The vocals are SO GOOD
yeah, I got this part stuck in my head, then had to come here to youtube to find it in full.
Reminds me of the siren song from Sinbad Legend of the Seven Seas
58:09 vibrato on ✨point✨
Dam i loved this zone. They really nailed the artwork. The whole storyline was Boom Boom perfect. And vampire portal mirrors oo yea so good.
My favourite zone, the covenant i chose for the ambience of this area. I love the Dracula feel, the vampiric ballroom dancers that dance in the air in some areas and the raids. loved it from beginning to end.
No lies , I'm entering my online exams with this song.
Literally same-
How'd they go?
@@TheCrazyDcoolest It was bad. And I start believing that blizzard didn't create these tracks for exams.
@@Wynora rofl i'm sorry I laughed
Whatever weeb
GAF what anyone says, Rivendreth/Denathrias/Venthyr are the best part of Shadowlands and hard carried it for me. And by far the greatest zones and boss/faction in the game. Fight me.
Yes agree, the basically everything in this zone was well executed (story, races, dungeons and raids and the art!), you can say about WoW what you want but it's not the zones / art that doesn't deliver. And tbh alone for this it's worth an initlal purchase, what many people do in a 2 year cycle over and over. Everything after that depends on the games systems and here you see that people don't keep subscribing.
But the initial purchases are breaking records after records, which means this part of the WoW Team does a great job.
There will always be a difference between your tastes and reality. Reality is agreed with everyone.
Preach
real
Wouldn't be fair to fight a lad that visibly didn't experience WOTLK / MoP zones
57:00 The best song in Revendreth EASILY
" my dear , our guests just arrived for diner . Would you like a cup of...them?"
Fr, you first hear this part in the login music, then you hear it hummed with female vocals at the start of entering Revendreth, and then you finally become a member of the covenant and hear it in Sinfall
So true
Thanks for pointing this music out, I clicked your time stamp and I love it
I highly agree
That music gives me Karazhan vibes. :3
Exactly
Hello darkness, my old friend.
Hello darkness, my old friend.
Hello darkness, my old friend.
I might be casting you again
Mad Duke are you
They should do the next Hallow's End here
This is the first time I've actively sought out music for a zone since Grizzly Hills from Wrath of the Lich King
i always seek out the barren music to get my monthly nostalgia kick in the face
This is the best zone in WoW history.
"The statue seemed to move, but didn't. The world had changed, yet stayed the same. I was a newborn vampire weeping at the beauty of the night." - Louis, Interview with a Vampire.
"Evil is a point of view. God kills indiscriminately, and so shall we. For no creatures under God are as we are; none so like him as ourselves."
reading this i knew it was familiar, until i saw the end. kudos to you, my friend
Bloodborne has entered the Shadowlands
Hey Kas. I hope you are doing well! 🙂😀
I think Gilneas :D
I was thinking the same, bloodborne inspiration with a dash of Romanian culture and names (as a romanian i've found very very many refferences) since it's vampire themed :P
@@klefthoofrobert787 what are some of those references? I still have to get to Revendreth but I'm really interested in this zone because of the whole vampire and gothic aesthetic
Half of the zone is Bloodborne and the other half (The Ember Ward) is Dark Souls.
This music, this aesthetic, and this whole environment is why no matter what better perks the other covenants have for my characters, I always go for Revendreth.
34:49 depressed tauren looking at that iron noose. But seriously, what an amazing video, Blizzard also did a fantastic job with the music for this place especially. Kinda wish Venthyr become somehow playable for the horde, then we can have werewolves vs vampires. :P
you can have the Fairies for the horde they would match vulperas :D
@@vaedathlive1896 Vulpera was a mistake. -_-
@@swampsectwe want venthyr too :P
@@vaedathlive1896 And here is the reason why I don't think ANY covenant races will ever be playable. Because both Horde and Alliance work with them, and making them a neutral race (ala pandaren) would be awkward as fuck.
@@swampsect indeed
Shadowlands effed up a lot of things, but Revendreth was *chef's kiss*
this music has healing abilities! when i was feeling bad i heard this song and felt better.
Atonement
This music still hits, after shadowlands being what it was...
A good expension. Hate need to stop.
I selected "Venthyr" just for listening this music in game... I've loved it since then.
By far my favorite zone in WoW. There are few others who really hit me with their music, ambience and theme. I think the only two other places that really pull me in the same way, are D'azalor/Zandalar and Stormheim.
If you like this zone how about Drustvar?
Every late summer / beginning of autumn I seek out this video again. Beautiful music, love it ♥
Currently watching the series Wednesday on Netflix and the vibes instantly brought me back to Revendreth. Obviously since The Addams Family are heavily gothic-culture influenced themselves. Even the music fits the parts in the series so well. Love it.
24:36 onwards is so fitting for the setting of Revendreth! Amazingly done
To some souls, the pain and suffering they have endured in life becomes so essential that even in death they can not apart from it. For that, dark and gloomy places like this are much better for those people compared the ones like Bastion, even if they are not evil or prideful souls in the first place.
I'm already nostalgic for Shadowlands.
me favorite soundtrack of all covenants
I don't know how many times I listen to the music from this video, this is one of the best WoW soundtracks I've heard. Thank you, Meisio for this video=)
Spoopy, perfectly in time for the Spooktober vibes
Boohoo! Did I scare you?
@@Meisio ofu!
35:20-37:30 EVERONE!
Gothic style is allways one that has so much class.. its allmost hair raising.
You can't play WoW while studying/working... but you can listen to this while doing that! In your face adult life
Starting at 49:12, I've had Ritual Feral H for the entire day. It's so so lovely.
surprisingly fitting to listen to in december
This music... Wow. The music is what keeps bringing me back to the game over and over again. Then I get to the "daily grind quests" to keep up with other players and remember why I left, then repeat the same cycle every3 years.
WOW! Albeit creepy, this has got to be one of the best looking zones in W.O.W. today.
This place satisfy my gothic heart.....
14:08 best part of the Revendreth ambience
Finally! Been waiting for this since the Bastion video. Your work is greatly appreciated, many thanks.
Their music is 10/10. Always.
Thanks Mesio! I don't have beta so you uploading these videos is the only way I've been able to hear the music from shadowlands. Much appreciated
Absolutely love the ambience of this place -the music is a major factor in that
Everything is beautiful, from the music and landscape, to the colors and gothic style!
No man, this is really really cool! Thank you very much for this video)
This what got me in wow shadowlands easily, the story, zones, and more importantly THE MUSIC!
Beautiful zone, great soundtrack!
That's awesome! Perfect soundtrack for my table games session!
Great work as always!!!
I love this goddamned world so much
i wish i had the time to play and immerse myself in this world. So much fun when I was younger; days are so busy now I can barely get 10 minutes to have lunch at my desk.
In recent years many WoW zones have had forgettable droning music that doesn’t stick, which is a shame. I’m happy to say that this zone has some of the most memorable and enjoyable music in the game. Music is so critical to a good game, happy this was made, and the vocals really make it what it is.
you kiddin? BFA's music was incredible. WoW has always been amazing with music.
That’s simply not true tho. This expansion, you’ve got Ardenweald, Revendreth and Bastion with completely new tracks only unique to the zone. In BFA, almost every zone even Mechagon and Nazjatar had their own unique music. BFA especially excelled in that regard, Hell even alliance taverns had their own unique new music. In Legion, you’ve got Aszuna, Suramar and Valsharah music among others. In Draenor, the music was just flawless. Even the sea shore had its own music, Alliance and Horde Garrisons as well, not just the main zones (especially Gorgrond and Talador) I can keep going. If there is one thing WoW never gets wrong in every expansion, its unique music. Not every zone has to have different music, that would be insanity but if a zone doesn’t have a main theme unique to it, its usually a spin on already established music related to the main theme just different enough to fit the context of that zone. music in WoW wether instance or zone music is always top notch. They have insanely talented ppl.
@@Damaardk Legion zones reused a lot of music from the past, like the majority of Azsuna is just reused Vash'jir, TBC Naga and WotLk Riplash music (also used in Stormheim). Val'sharah reused many Cataclysm tracks, same for Drogbar areas in Highmountain with Twilight Hammer and Elemental music from Cata. Not really that good examples on your list, but everything else is true.
Thank you for posting these videos.. I don't even play the game but I just love the music and the ambiance as you put it :)
when i saw grant kirkhope on this soundtrack before launch i was so hyped and he did not disappoint
he somehow grants hope
which part of the video has the theme that goes "da da da DAAAAAAH da da da DAAAA-AAAA" but really lively
Perhaps 6:16 is what you are looking for
59:24 is the very lively one.
Haunting and Mysterious. Thanks a lot
Thank you. Needed this for work.
sick music indeed great video edit
Full masterpiece! ♥
*sounds of incredible joy*
THIS IS SOO GOOOD WOWW THANK YOU
I know which covenant im going with now :) gotta love this music and zone design style.
true
Thanks a lot.
56:17 is awesome
this music teleports me to the golden era of diablo 2
Truly calming
I would kill for just the ambient sounds (no music) of the Ember Ward
This and the Boralus soundtrack on a loop for an eternity.
Love this part 25:11, those bells make it sound awesome
The music in this area sometimes reminds me of the music in the PC game "Dungeons 2." It's kinda' fun!
Masterpiece
A other good vidoe dude keep it up you rock
5:07 this track just reminds me of Oxenfurt from Witcher 3 so much, i love it.
best location in shadowlands ;-) i love this
I swore never to return to WoW after the mess of WoD, but this place alone is pulling me back, Ive never even seen it yet
Ardenweald and Revendreth, Top SL worlds.
Ardenweald sucks. It's infested with nope-pixies...
I love how this whole zone is gothic in its architecture and so inexplicably connected to blood elf lore, both in their addiction to magic, and the temptation to ally themselves with darker forces in an attempt to satiate that addiction.
47:56
44:00 reminds me some temples in Zelda SS like Inside the Sandship or Skyview temple
Эх, сейчас бы в Ревендрет
На обед там винегрет
Mi zona favorita, mi música favorita. 😍
The beginning reminds me of the phone game music I play called game of dice
Heh, I'm glad that I discovered your channel about two months ago, these videos are amazing. I had quit the game around the time of Legion's release, in part because my computer wouldn't have been able to handle it but also because I had grown to hate the new Blizzard over the years, in addition to the direction that they had taken this game in. I tried to keep away from WoW entirely, but finally caved in a few months ago, because I was itching to have another look at my favourite zones and dungeons from Vanilla, TBC and WotLK. After discovering these videos, I also had a peek at some of the zones released since Legion to see what I have missed out of curiosity, and for the most part I don't really know what to say about most of them.
Still, as much as I hate the way that Blizzard have warped this game over the past decade or so, the art team and composers evidently still put a lot of effort in, and this zone in particular looks stellar.
Regardless, thank you Meisio for creating these. There are few better ways to capture the essence of the zones than what you have done here, and whether out of nostalgia or idle curiosity these have been wonderful for passing the time during long and otherwise uneventful evenings.

Did you look at Drustvar? Its questing line and creepiness reminded me of Vanilla.
@@paslaruflorin-alexandru9088 As I said, I had quit around the time that Legion released, so I have little knowledge of Drustvar's questline and can't give a fair opinion of it. From what I've seen of the zone itself though, it's a bit too busy to resemble the sort of atmospheres that Vanilla zones had, nor does its music strike me the same way that Vanilla's Evil Forest or Cursed Lands themes did. I've seen complete runs of Waycrest Manor, and that felt too pedestrian and straightforward without the classic dungeon crawler atmosphere that, say, the old Shadowfang Keep had. It probably didn't help either that Waycrest Manor had a Disneyfied haunted aesthetic. Actually, now that I think about it, the rest of the zone also had an ethereal, fairytale-like feel as well - 'creepy' perhaps, but not in the same way that Vanilla had been.
With that being said, Drustvar's aesthetic looks like what I imagine would happen if elements of Duskwood, Gilneas and the Dread Wastes were mashed together, with a bit of a Diablo III sprinkled on the top. I also remember seeing an abandoned human settlement there (I can't remember the name or if there was more than one, sorry) that does somewhat emulate that creeping sense of isolation that Vanilla had, without trying to outright imitate it. Again, I can't fairly judge Drustvar if I haven't properly experienced it, and since you're saying it's creepy I'll take your word for it.
The Ravenloft of WoW
15:36 is my favorite part~!
Lol... the acoustic guitar part in the beginning sounds just like the intro to Eagles - Hotel Califonia, but slower and a little modified :))
/nod
I think it's an harpsichord, same as in karazhan.
Even if Shadowlands turned out to be bad I think we can all agree Denathrius carried Shadowlands. Despite only being in the start of the expansion, somehow managed to be a better villain than the Jailer himself! 💪💪
bad for you* don't put everybody in the same bag please.
Noooice, dracula indeed!
I'm one of those weird WoW veterans that plays with the game muted so this is probably the only time I'll hear this music. It's really good! I listen to the music on this channel every day while I work from home.
Bloodborne meets Harry Potter ❤
Reminds me of Gilneas.
Revendreth music is by far some of the best this game has to offer. So far Shadowlands, even in 9.1 has been quite mehhhh but the music is just so good. The art and music teams carry this game so hard.
Can you please make 1hr long version of Revendreth but only Endmire music - from that part of the zone. Its the best music in Revendreth
06:16 my favorite part!
"Well... my master DID say to serve everyone..."
Revendreth music is so much far superior compared to other zones, it's not even close :) The violin at 16:50 made me piss my pants.
Thank you for these videos! They really help a lot. I'm not going to write about hard times, that's kind of common thing right now. But this music and these videos help a lot, thank you so much!
May I ask stupid question? Is this music from the game?
yes it’s from the game. this one is from the new expansion
@@catdune3631 Thank you!!!!
I wish there was a carriage mount with a team of horses. Maybe customize it to your professions / class / race / transmog'd gear?
Ventyr F - is t he best (7:48) Especially the 2nd, violin part (8:58) 😈
Huh, I can never seem to recall. Where is the Crypt of the Forgotten again?
how is this expansion so far? i know its only a couple weeks in
Where is the Dominance Keep section? ;-;
