I'm a sucker for star patterns. :) Because there were so many seams in a block, I would have appreciated seeing how the seams were pressed as the block came together.
I love the free motion quilting tutorials using your rulers. I like it when not only you put together the quilt but actually show me the free motion quilting part too.

Love this quilt... I use painters tape as well to piece together 60 and 45 degree angle pieces. Cut a quarter inch piece of painters tape (about 10 inches) and place it on your sewing machine bed. Put two pieces of fabric right sides together, and place along the long edge on the line of the tape. Your two bits that stick out can be lined up to the exact quarter inch by lining them up on the other side of the tape. Slide your pieces under your needle and you will have a perfect seam every time.
I seriously use painter's tape for everything in my life. Recently moved into a new house - every single door and drawer has a painter's tape label on it until we get familiar with everything. I use it for quilting, I use it for homeschool, I use it to label my kids when I forget their names... everything! :-P

That’s a beautiful quilt and the ghost blocks are genius! Glad you’re using Slim, my favorite ruler. I love to put painter’s tape on my cutting rulers to remind myself exactly which marking I’m using to make repetitious cuts. I place the tape about 1/8” past the mark I’m supposed to use.
Angela, You are a genius!! I haven't done much free motion quilting. I use my walking foot mostly but this painters tape trick can surely make a lot of different ideas for quilting designs. Thank you for all you create and the information you provide. You are absolutely delicious!!

Enjoying immensely the expert videos of MIDNIGHT QUILTER! Great themes, quilt patterns, examples, and the totally not boring quilts! Wow! I finally noticed the maker of the machine you are using in both piecing and quilting: a HANDI-QUILTER. It must be a sit-down model. This is the 1st time I've seen this type of machine! The only other machine that has a stitch regulator on it is the Bernina. So, this is a new one for me. If this is so, I'm so glad. There is a quilt show coming up in March at Tyler, Texas. I'm hoping they will have this specific model on display/demos at that time. I will be very happy to see an alternative to the high-priced Berninas. Keep up offering your quilt videos! They are all great!
I'm so glad I watched this again because I have your quilting rulers in the long skinny one is the probably the 1 that I like the best and I'm getting better at straight Lawrence. I was wondering how to keep the lawn straight when I move along and the painter's tape is brilliant for that thank you.
Love your show and watching you add quilting to the fabric. I would really like to see a wide angle shot that shows how and where you spread out a large quilt in order to do such detailed quilting

Every time you post a new quilt, I ALWAYS wish I had UFOs! I'm fanatical about starting a project and finishing it before I start another one. If I could just finish the quilt tops and leave them sitting around!! Ugh! This quilt looks amazing! (Too bad I'm in the middle of another one. *cries*)
I like to use painters tape to hold the layers in place while I pin baste on the floor! I've tried using it to mark straight lines for machine quilting over the length of the quilt but it just didn't stick that well.
i'm curious....i recently started trying my hand at some machine quilting. I don't have a walking foot. Just using my standard foot. is there a trick to keeping the back of your fabric flat so as not to get puckers, wrinkles, or any shifting of fabric so you don't accidentally sew where you aren't supposed to? I put my sandwich on a quilt rack first and safety pinned it together but still had issues that caused me to have to take stitches out. You make it look so easy Angela.

Before I got a 1/4 inch foot for my machine, I used painters tape to mark different seam allowances so that I can so straight.
I love the quilt!!! The colors really pop. But, the quilting just magnifies it😀😀😀❤❤

I use painter's tape on my quilting ruler to make squaring up HSTs quick and easy.
When I piece my backing using Jinny Beyer's diagonal method, I use painters tape to mark the diagonal line, then cut along the tape.
This just might be my favorite quilt.
