    #50 completely shut out #11.
We should be talking about #50 as a 1st round left tackle. Crazy you say? Look up his RAS and it’s virtually identical to Rashawn Slater’s. They’re the same size, though Tom has slightly longer arms.
This guy has given up 2 sacks in his career. His foot quickness and balance are elite. His hands are big and strong and his hand placement is consistently excellent, unlike holding machine Charles Cross (who I have ranked below Tom). Again, with respect to people questioning his size and strength, in addition to coming in at an identical height and weight to Rashawn Slater, he he displays the ability to anchor well against the bull rush consistently, even if he does give up some ground.
People talk about moving him back to center. He’d be great there but why would you waste such sweet feet inside?
Is he Icky Ekwonu in the run game? No, but his technique and ability to use angles will allow him to be adequate on the edge in a zone blocking scheme.
Want more evidence of how good he is? Clemson crossed him up a couple times early with line games but overall he did an excellent job up against Myles Murphy and those guys.
    OT #3, Zach Tom

I thought the same thing watching him go against #11 Johnson, who many have pegged as a top 15 draft pic. He looks and plays exactly like Rashawn Slater, and this game reminds me of the game in 2019 when Slater completely shut out Chase Young. As a Bolts lifer, I would LOVE to see Tom lining up as RT opposite Slater. I'll be ecstatic if he falls to the 3rd round, but I doubt he will

When I watch random college football highlight I watch the left tackle and the right edge on D. This game features the Wake Forest LT, controlling the Florida State edge.

#50 has the foot quickness of a half back. No, he’s not the most powerful drive blocker, but he has a great understanding of positioning and angles and nice tight hands. He looks like he might be short on film but he measured in at 6’4” at the combine, which is a little shorter than ideal to play tackle in the NFL but not terribly so. He appears short on film because he plays so low, exhibiting outstanding balance and leverage. And it’s not like he has short arms at 33 3/8”. Are we so sure that he can’t add enough strength in an NFL weight room to handle power rushers?
This is an outstanding football player that is absolutely flying under the media radar.

I noticed that before seeing your comment, he gave Jermaine johnson a hard time because he can actually anchor his bull rushes, not many can.

There are both positives and negatives to this offense. The slow-mesh handoff has the same effect as the play-action pass, i.e., it freezes the linebackers and makes them hesitate for a moment. On the negative side, there are a lot of false starts, and the players on offense don't seem like they're always on the same page. Bottom line, it's effective, but it would take some time before an offense would really become proficient at it.
