Nandi, I have a question. On the next event, should I do the Malleus again to level up it's rarity as I only unlocked at Common or should I be unlocking the other Machines of War? Thank you.
@@leonallen5834 Excellent question - I think there are two schools of thought - diversify your MoWs (which I'll be doing) or continue in the same track to farm resources.
There is a reasonable argument to stay in the same track and farm epic/legendary badges depending on your stage of the game

I’ve been playing this game for over a year now, and still can’t decide if I like this MOW idea or not. Great video Nandi. Thanks for the deep dive into the new feature. Hopefully it doesn’t mess up the game for people who don’t spend mega bucks on the game. Fingers crossed.
I really like that you gradually get to progress towards a character of your choosing in these events instead of receiving a random/predetermined character.
What, you don’t like having 2,500 Snappawrecka shards while being unable to progress the ones you want? (And let’s not forget the absurd scarcity or Orbs!).
Great. So I've been severely gimped for wanting the biovore and not having rotbone out of any summon scroll.
Great Video, but massively disappointed in them adding such an obvious pay to win mechanic.
The entire game is pay to win; if you can afford it. 😆 hehehe
5 days x 24 hours / 15 hours is 8 tickets, plus 3 that's only eleven tickets for 14 tiers
Progress saves, so you can attempt the last 3 the second time around.
@@necroprogaming6851 Still is a bad sign of things to come not giving enough tokens to play content. Legendary tier without Rot or Isa is enough of a hurdle

Ugh. Once again the unit I want is stuck behind a bunch of units I don't enjoy and haven't built. I wish they'd have allowed us to play both other factions against the respective one of the MOW. I guess I'm stuck trying to get the forge fiend this time. As always thank you for the great info.
Great video, terrible update.
This seems like just another thing to worry about instead of actually improving or growing the game.
After nearly a year of playing and convincing some friends to do the same, we still feel behind on content and this is just another thing to chase resources for.
Maybe the devs could rebalance the energy system or something but I highly doubt they will.
This update could be what stops me and my guild from logging in anymore.

I just realised that this feature is not just pay to win, it adds to the pay to play character of a game that seems to now be exclusively targeted to “whales”. Reflect on this: even in “single player” aspects of the game, such as Arena, your virtual opponents now are already sporting MOWs. Of course, they don’t have to pay for munitions! So you either go in underpowered, or have to pay for munitions to keep up. The whole game has become 100% pay to play. Even buying the monthly pass is not enough. I am at power level 46 and am no longer generating enough resources to meaningfully progress characters (it’s all made worse by drops being random, let alone shockingly stingy). This is despite buying the monthly pass and making maximum use of daily energy etc. Haven’t done the maths but it looks like you would need minimum $50 to $100 per month to have a reasonable progression at this stage. No thanks.
Thanks for the detailed vid Nandi. I'm concerned about needing healing esp in the later levels. Personally i don't have Isabella or Rotbone so i feel forced into playing xenos for this, but they have no healer so again your forced to go necrons which you'll have to level to legendary to complete your malleus battery? Seem like a lack of choice if you don't have a specific character.
I think its obvious at this point that the devs wont budge on their ludicrous P2W mechanic.
I can only hope that they had the heart to add munitions to the daily chest or daily quest. If we get enough to use the munitions for each of our raids attempts, then thats the minium. If they cant even do that then uts a lost cause :(
They can't just give infinite munitions. It defeats the entire purpose.

They could have made the active a once per battle ability but they didn't. There is many ways to balance a mechanic like this without putting a paywall behind it.
@@hell1942 they have to give us few enough that you can't just sit in the corner with a whole team healing eachother and have the machine slowly widdle away the enemy. It's not a pay wall, by definition that is something that REQUIRES you to spend money and not a single thing in this game aside from that crit item that came with asmodai's event and some shiny frames requires you to pay. It's supporting the devs for a game you play and in return getting extra of something or a short cut. If you don't want to spend money don't spend money and it's that simple. Don't complain about there being a button to press when you can simply not press said button.
@@silverblack110 it's not a pay wall. Nothing in this game aside from some shiny frames and that crit item from the asmodai event REQUIRES money. You can support the dev of a game you play and get extra or a short cut. The only reason isn't for money, it's because literally everything will be trivialized with too many munitions. Then the game becomes sit in a corner with healers and let your machine slowly widdle away the enemies. It's a way to make sure people are careful about how they use it. Don't complain about that purchase when you don't have to make it.
Thanks Nandi. So the MoW require orbs but the Incursion event doesn't reward any?
They have to be expensive or they're going to be overpowered. Besides new character events don't pay for all the orbs.
@@blacksabbath5300 they could have just designed them to be not overpowered lmao. Making them overpowered so you want to spend money to use them was a design decision that had to go through multiple levels of discussion. Its not like the machine came out of the sky and the devs had to figure out what to do 🙄

I like the use of the forge badges because they give out too many
PVP balance and matchmaking is a joke already. This will create whole new level of mess.
Machines aren't allowed in pvp
Are the incursions balanced at all around total character availability? What I mean by that is that there are a lot less Chaos factions than Imperial so a player is probably going to have more Imperial characters than Chaos characters meaning attrition is going to matter more depending on the player. For me personally I have 22 Imperial characters and only 12 Chaos.

People need to keep playing. Just spend 0$ for a full month, to start.

@@MrSzwierzak Won't add that much complexity when everyone is gonna have the Imperial MoW just doing a "budget Thaddeus Spam" on you every game while you can't do anything to remove it lmao. Gonna just make you get pissed that you're dying even if you do good positioning.

Any news on the munitions? I figured you might mention even if there was the small influx of munitons that the designers mentioned.
So if it’s kind of an endurance run then wouldn’t healers be the most valuable asset on your team?

They shouldn't make BS Like that. A free to play PvP Mode would be great. No Tickets needed, just Fun. Or at least just against "AI", would also be good for Training.

If a character is killed can you replace them in the next battle or are have you only got 4 characters for the rest of the tier?
You can replace them in the next battle
New to the game and I had not done any research...this event was very unintuitive to me and not fun. My best guys were Imperials so I chose the Imperial machine only to face maps where I can only field Xenos, by far the weakest of the three factions for me.

Just one question I haven't seen answered anywhere.
On defence the MoW will use it's Active ability does this cost you Ammo? I assumming it doesn't, but it'd be good to get a confirmation.

Nooooo! All my highest are xenos and chaos and I want the forgefiend......this sucks man. If it even allowed for xenos and Imp I could easily get into the legendaries.
Its already restrictive enough that only get to choose one MoW but locking that path to a single faction to progress as well is too much.
It's just like legendary events. Besides, looks like the math shows malleus is going to be the most efficient for things. I wanted the forge fiend too but if it's going to be so niche and objectively worse for damage there's no point.
@@blacksabbath5300 Its not just like the LRE - there if you fight Chaos, you can use imperial AND xenos units.
Also, I run a D3 ahriman, psykers/ flamers and a neuro team so I am the niche that would benefit from it lol. Also I think people underestimate Forgefiends usability in terms of LRE where you have a map full of summons, or blocking melee units with fire in arena.
Im in a top 150 guild and know there is no need to be hyper-optimized since the next tier of rewards in Raids gets us..what? 1000g and 50 more Guild tokens? whoopie....
Besides, Forgefiend would give my squad more damage than Nandi calculated, as it would give me flames right away. Meaning I could put flames down turn one before neuro and ahri attack - gaining at least 3k damage since ahri doesnt have to attack a nonflame target without the buff to light it up. That damage increase is also added for every turn the boss runs out of flame and I don't need to light it up with ahri. For my teamt he damage is closer to malleus than Nandi put on his video.
Forge fiend will also help my squad more in chaptermaster arena where I could DEFINITELY secure more legendary badges and an extra legendary orb EVERY week, especially against all the malleus sunmons from the meta slaves lmao.

There are no full on Non-Mechanical Xenos healers.

Its cool and all but I have so many cool characters I wanna have fun with but no content to use them on..
Hold up so if u let even 1 character die you need to spend a whole extra token to finish that tier? That sounds pretty horrible. Guess I’m picking forge so I can isa turtle every level
It's a single medal in a single level. Not the end of the world.
If a char dies you field another of the faction for the next battle, like in Onslaught. But yes having a healer is mandatory lost HP carries to the next battle in the same tier
@@blacksabbath5300 never mind I thought that losing a medal would mean you couldn’t get the chest after finishing the series. Looks like you would just lose the reward for 3 staring the mission
Thats the thing though, if you fail a battle, you can't redo it, so if that 3rd medal had a machine of war shard as it's reward then yes, you do just get kinda screwed, and have to either redo that whole tier, or move on always 1 or 2 away from the milestones of the next tiers. Had it happen to me on the last fight of the common tier.
And surprise! No starting 3 tokens. So only 7/8 token for F2P. As usual, if you don't pay you have to be penalized 😢

@@Nandi40k we all thought the same, not your fault. They put more tokens in the bundles. Now with 2 events it's only possible to finish the 14 levels once for free, without extra tries. No margin for mistakes :(
I think this new mechanic is some BS, the game is good as it is
So at 250 BS for 10 shots. If you wanted to take 1 shot everyday on your arena and guild raid/wars it will cost you $1,400 a year.... more or less and my strongest faction will earn my weakest faction a machine. Gatcha games are a ripoff already but this is absurd...
Dude I’ve been playing this game for 2 years and I’ve never spent a dime on it.
I beat every new legendary event and every new character event.

My man these are so easy to get, if you fully complete a rarity tier, then you get all the shards required to get the machine to that rarity, and all the materials to upgrade it's abilities.
After watching a good chunk of this video, this sounds pretty P2W right now. I'm not really a fan of this.

Game has been ruined for a while, even since launch pretty much everything they do feels like a cash grab. We get pretty much no content updates besides a single campaign that has been slowly rolling out for a year and the same monthly character releases. Most gacha games launch with more content than tacticus has after 2 years and the majority have more fair monetization schemes. I remember during the first Christmas shop they tried selling a single legendary orb for $40usd. Completely fucking laughable.
The only reason I still play is because I’m in a good guild with people I like if it disbanded i would just sell my account on epic npc and be on my way

It's end game content just like the quests and the LREs. It simply takes time to reach that level.
And by the looks of it, you can pick the same machine on multiple events and max it out paid or not
