There were a lot of Zelda ROM hacks in 2024. Ultimate Trial, Time Lost and Sands of Time are the main ones, plus the two ROM hacking competitions by HylianModding which had over a dozen smaller hacks in between them.
This was also a great hack! I don't mind the crazy enemy jacking up, except for what they did to Phantom Ganon here. Let's just say, that's this game's low point while the same boss is made much better than vanilla in Sands of Time. This one's also got two endings, hmmm...
Seems from where I'm sitting that most of the custom monsters are all from Majora's Mask. Hell a LOT of this game visually takes cues from Majora's Mask, to the point where - while I'm aware both games were built on the same engine - I found myself waiting for you to pause the game in the footage to see which game the pause screen more closely is related to
The end boss alone was worth playing the entire game. It was okay to me, I think the original master of time was really good. Wish It had bosses, but time lost was still fun!
Are you planning to cover any of the OoT Romhack Competition entries? That would kick ass. Also, some ALTTP romhacks / ALTTP-adjacent fangames like Gerudo Exile and Dungeons of Infinity would be sweet too.
Hey Bane, I doubt you've heard of the Five Nights at F***boy's games but they recently released a demo for a new game that could be an interesting choice for fangame December. They're an absurdist parody of FNAF in the form of JRPGs. This newest one is called Q.E.D. and sees Toy Freddy take a journey through Ocarina of Time. I think it could be a good curveball review for you, and keep with the theme of OOT hacks you've done the past two days.
heh. neat. I wonder if anyone's done a rom hack where you get a reverse of the kishin mask, something to turn Link into a child form so he can crawl through small holes, then go back to adult.
I feel like you're failing to mention the central gear in how all these qol adjustments were done, which is oot redux, the standalone project that actually made all these changes possible in the first place
Will always find Zelda rom hacks fascinating

HELLLL yeah! It's that time of year again! Thank you so much, Phantom Bane. Listening to your videos is an absolute joy! 😊

This channel is so underrated. Just like OoT romhacks!

I love this hack. I like the enemy variety and the dungeons.

Glad the Christmas marathon is going strong!
2:45 The creator said they tried to input Rusty Bucket's theme, but it didn't sound great in this soundfont. 8:10 That was Sheik!

@@captainkawaii666 For the ten year anniversary, yeah.
I know you asked for recommendations, but what are the limits? Rom hacks released this year? Rom hacks for the N64?
It's gonna be a good weekend thank you
