i wonder if they intended it to be this difficult... it looks great and id love to try it, but i haven't even managed to beat the original mario bros 3
I just found this channel, and I am shocked at what I see, you have been uploading quality videos almost non-stop for over eight years, and yet have less than ten thousand subscribers, I can barely even put over 2 weeks of dedication to a single GAME and yet you are motivated to upload to an audience of a couple thousand, I envy you a lot and hope that some day you get the audience you deserve, you have my regards Mr. PhantomBane
Phew I was afraid the Christmas romhack Marathon wasn't gonna return this year. I always look Forward to these snacksized little reviews to see what interesting stuff has come out during the year. And you certainly picked a good one here. I would say Mario Adventure 3 is probably even more ambitious than Mario 3 Mix. I'm also very excited for the creator to make the tools they used for this hack publicly available and see what the romhack community can do with these tools
This was a hack long in the making. I really still hope you finally cover the JUMP duology in this one. They both fantastic for mostly using vanilla assets with a ton of ASM gimmicks.
Love how I'm constantly introduced to new hacks I've never heard of before through these marathons. This one looks really cool, I'm the most tempted to try it out of almost everything else I've seen on this channel (next to Mario Eclipse and B3313).
For everyone asking about the difficulty, its harder than vanilla SMB3 for sure, but its difficulty lies more in the puzzle aspect. There is a lot of new things and yoture constantly having to adapt to new concepts. There are accessibility options to help with the difficulty as well. I think it's mostly difficult from the fact there's so many new abilities to remember that players often forget to use all the tools available to them.
I wonder how "bad" the difficulty of this hack truly is, because as someone who has Lost Levels (the original Famicom version, not All-Stars) as one of his favorite 2D Mario games this might be just up my alley in that regard if it really is that hard, unless perhaps if it's hard in a different way from what Lost Levels does.

I don't think Mario Bros 3 is too difficult, although I did beat in on the Allstars version which essentially allows you to save, so that helped.

Bro please give Super Mario Bros. CD some consideration, it's only a 2-level demo but it's so damn good.
I'm surprised you haven't noticed this yet, but Star World finally had a demo release earlier this year, definitely worth checking out.
ya Awesome
