Great review and totally agree. Words like 'wow' and 'awesome' have been said multiple times about this show. It was my first time seeing them (I'm 53), and my 20 year old son came too. He doesn't think he'll see them again purely because he can't see them beating this one. Someone who attended 2 other times this tour said Wembley was something else. I wouldn't be surprised if years from now critics are calling this show one of the greatest ever - not just of this band. I had such an amazing time and am still on a high from it as I write this 5 days afterwards. I said after about 6 songs that we'd already got our money's worth. We feel privileged and special to have been there.
First time seeing them and took my mum. Honestly I wish I could relive it over and over again. It has reignited my love for American Idiot - I felt 17 again.
Green Day announced this tour with the playing of DOOKIE and AMERICAN IDIOT in its entirety. They are the first to play two full albums entirely, and I’m so upset I did not catch them in the US, but yeah this is MONUMENTAL 🔥🤘🏻 Dookie for me is an insane album, a pivotal point in my life and my music pedigree, super happy you got to see that entirely played. I have seen Green Day 12 times since 1998 and I’ve heard all the songs from both albums 😊 Really happy you went Steve and so happy to know you are a big fan and had “the time of your life” ❤️

I think they announced it a bit after the tour announcement. I remember saying to my partner when it got announced; "it wouldn't surprise me if they play American Idiot and Dookie in full with the milestones" then a few weeks later they announced it. So glad I got to see this show.
I assume you mean it's the first time they've done it, because they're definitely not the first band ever to play multiple albums live. One that comes to my head immediately is Between the Buried and Me, who have done it multiple times, but you could definitely go further back and find others.
It's 26 years since me, and my brother saw Green Day at Rock City in Nottingham. It was my first gig. seeing them again with my brother was so special. I loved every moment and I'm so grateful to my brother for subbing me the ticket last year when I couldn't afford it. Love you Bro.
Your review sums up exactly how I felt after seeing them in Dublin. To hear American Idiot in full, was an almost indescribable experience. It was the first punk/rock album I listened to and from that went on to get into heavier and heavier music but American Idiot will always be that album that put me on the path of rock and metal music. Dookie was amazing too but the nostalgia I have for American Idiot is just measurable. Letterbomb is also my absolute favourite Green Day song, it is just an absolutely certified banger.
im so glad im still 15 and i got to experience green day in their best shape ever. It's crazy how they can play 2h and 20/30 mins on every single date of the tour without making any mistakes at 50 years old. The show in milano was a BLAST
They were much better 25 years ago. Sorry. They are nothing compared to what they were. I saw them on their Dookie tour 94. Before they were political activists and writing thousands of horrible songs
I was there, it was my first ever concert and I’ve already booked another one for Halloween. Best experience I’ve ever had!! Got a new t shirt and the lighting was incredible. Defo going next time they come! Although tickets for slipknot are sold out so next concert is sum 41! Happy anniversary DOOKIE and American Idiot 🔥
I was at the show in Glasgow scotland and it was simply the greatest live show ive seen, with both dookie and american idot plus more from the new album and some from other albums. Insane
I was OBSESSED with them especially after American Idiot dropped (I think I was like 12 years old at the time) and finally got my chance to see them last weekend in Toronto on this tour. Hearing the album front to back along with several other hits was AMAZING. I've been to hundreds of shows (I'm into metalcore/deathcore) and I don't think anything comes close to this. It kicked ASS.
I was there. It was my 6th Green Day show too, 19 years since my first at Milton Keynes. It was an incredible night. You're right that they do a lot of the same stuff at their shows, but honestly I don't care- I'm just happy to be there in their presence, and in that energy. I promised myself when I saw them that first time that I would see them at least once for each new tour. Though I would LOVE to see them at a secret/ intimate gig.
I think the repetition of their usual tricks is iconic because it is what makes them Green Day. Fans on stage, heeeeyyyyy ohhhhhhs, Billie Joe’s dramatic speeches, Tre’s weird antics and Mike Dirnting away, Time of your life at the end, the drunk bunny 🐰 It’s all just “them” and they’re so genuine, authentic and talented 💚
Incredible show. My first Green Day gig but I've seen many of the great stadium bands over the years. This show was easily up there as one of the best I've been to!
i already have my tickets to see them on this tour later this year, it will be my first time seeing them live, and now im even more excited for the show, hopefully my experience will be as great as yours.
Great video. I’ve been a Green Day fan since I was 14 in 2009, they’ve been my favourite band since then. It’s so good to see them on top of their game right now. Saviors is their best album since 2009 maybe 2004. Can’t wait until they come to Australia 🇦🇺
I just saw the saviors tour last week and I still am blown away at their energy throughout the entire show. I could of collapsed trying to walk back to my hotel after the show, I don’t know how they did it, it was an incredible show to see, they were great!
I saw them in Toronto a few weeks ago and I agree with you completely. The show was amazing and huge energy but loved hearing 2 of my fave albums of all time! One of the best shows I have ever seen!
Dude!!! That’s amazing. First concert twins 🤜🏻🤛🏻 Yeah I have enjoyed Bouncing Souls since that gig although their early material is not that accessible so took some getting into haha. But it was my first gig so they have a special place I my heart too.
The year was 1994. I have a vivid memory of me sitting in math class holding onto my walkman and my Dookie cassette tape, just waiting for the bell to ring so I can listen to my new album. « Longview » was my jam. This was the beginning of new-wave punk and I was so excited about this new sound. Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine the impact they would have 30 years later…
on June 22, 2000 in Atlanta, Georgia, 311 played their first two studio records in their entirety - Grassroots, then Music. If you are impressed by bands playing long sets, 311 Day (March 11th - duh) sets are 3+ hours of deep cuts and rarities, not to mention, they are two-three day events. 311 and many of their fans are in our 50's, so, it is impressive. The 311 Cruise sets are always fun as well... LOVES IT! American Idiot is an incredible album and Dookie was in the rotation when I worked a radio station in 1993-1994. Fun times!
I'm 54 and I loved every minute of the show in Kansas City. Extremely loud (made me dizzy!), but so perfect! I felt 19 again. I sang along with almost every song and was pretty tired by the end. :-D
Was my 4th time seeing GD live, and this show was like NOTHING I have seen them do before. Two weeks on and I still have post gig blues 😢 I cried 3 times during that concert, sang until I had no voice left (had seen Foos on the Tuesday!) and it was just the best feeling. Think my husband thought I’d lost it as it was his first ever GD concert 😂
I am the 420th comment which is fun. I just saw them in DC last night. I am excited to make a concert video later of all my favorite moments. I took my 6 year old on his bday yesterday. My wife in 2017 we saw them on her bday in DC too. So lucky. I got to go with one of my high school best friends too. I even ran into former students on the way home too.
Green Day quite literally loves rock and roll. It is their life and they talk about how eternally grateful they are to be able to do this. They will never slack or play a half-ass show.
I saw them in Glasgow on the 25th of June, it was mental! I was supoosed to see them in 2017 but they pulled out last minute, so needless to say, when I heard they were playing Bellahouston Park, I just had to go! They got a fan onstage to play Dilemma with them, as well as the fan onstage during Know Your Enemy, which was fantastic! And the fact they did Dookie and American Idiot all the way through was just mind blowing! The set dressing with the mushroom cloud and the hand grenade was gorgeous and was complimented very nicely by the pyro. Even managed to catch some of the confetti shot out during St. Jimmy. This was well worth the seven year wait, finally got to heal my inner fourteen year old. Thank you Green Day for giving me the chance to live the memory I missed out on years ago!
I was at Bellahouston too for this. I’ve seen plenty of anniversary tours, but two albums (two incredible albums) both being played with the same energy as if they had just come out was wonderful. This one will live long in the memory. Shout out to Nothing But Thieves too for supporting. They were fantastic
I was lucky enough to see them before they were famous at a small all-ages club in Beloit, Wisconsin, probably about a year or so before their debut on MTV. They headlined after, I think, three other bands. This was before "Dookie" came out but everybody new who they were. Word-of-mouth. It was just a small youths club and maybe only about 150 people were inside, but probably twice that many in the parking lot outside, trying to get in. The fire department was there keeping people out because of fire codes. But I had a blast. I was right up front for most of their show and while they were setting up I asked Billie about his rig (I'm a guitar nerd) and he said something like, "It's just a sh!tty Strat copy going through a Marshall half-stack with a couple pedals." Little did I know!
I keep trying to explain to people how monumental this tour has been, with Dookie and American Idiot being played in full, in order (specially AI, where the order matters a lot!). I love hearing other people as excited about it as I have been, and sharing that feeling of awe and disbelief.
First time seeing Green Day was in 2006 during their American idiot tour. Best show ever! They’re still killing it til today, seeing them in September!
I was at Wembley and it was incredible. They were awesome , the crowd were the best and when it was all lit up it was stunning. Loved it. I will never forget that night. ❤
I’m insanely excited to see them live in September, Dookie and American Idiot are the two albums that got me into Green Day and now I’m gonna be able to see both live
I went to the show in Glasgow at Bellahouston Park. Best day of my life! My first ever international trip outside of Sweden. I am so happy I made the trip🥰 I've seen them twice before in Gothenburg and Stockholm back in 2017 during RevRad tour. Wanted to see them again in 2022 but I listened to someone elses advice about keeping my money (so glad that that person is no longer a big part of my life!) + that I also needed to work. I can definitely say that Bellahouston Park was so much more amazing than any other concert I've ever been to! I was not center of stage but I was all the way to the left and at barricade amongst 35000 people and it was so cool! And I got a pick from a guy named Sam in their crew (he saw my sign) during Minority😭 I'd do it all over again if I could. The trip left me broke. But, anything for my SAVIORS❣ Next year they've kept me alive for a decade and I couldn't be more thankful😭❤🩹
I so agree! This video has perfectly captured what I thought! I didn’t go, as I live in another country but it’s amazing how much. They play with not only quality, but quantity. And they are truely amazing guys.
I went to the 10th, 11th and 12th (Rock am Ring, Hamburg and Arnhem) Green Day show this year. I always said they never can top their shows from 2009/2010 shows. They never disappointed me live even after these tours. You know what? With this tour, they even topped all their previous tour! It was the best tour I‘ve ever been to! And I‘m pretty sure they will top themselves again with their upcoming tour, because Green Day they always bring out new ideas and still giving their best even in their 50s and I‘m happy for them most of the reviews are positive because they deserved it! I can‘t wait to see them again and already miss them! Greetings from Germany, such a good review :)
I'm almost half their age. Last time I saw them was during RevRad. They wore me out. They were still jumping around while I was losing steam. I saw them as a teen during 21st Century Breakdown. They also played a really long set.
I saw the Boston show at Fenway park it was fucking amazing !! I saw foo fighters there few weeks before and Greenday gave them a run for there money so glad I got to be there
So many people are unaware of how incredible Green Day is live. And if you're a fan, the deep cuts they pull out in their shows are amazing. Great setlists. I also had the pleasure of hearing Letterbomb live, and it fucking ruled. Low key one of the greatest rock songs.
Oh man. Greenday were my absolute formative band growing up, and Dookie THE album. So disappointed I didn’t get to see this. I don’t normally watch videos like this, but your enthusiasm was super infectious- really sold the emotion.
Going to see them in Toronto when their NA leg of the tour kicks off. It'll be my 4th Greenday show, and they've all bee unreal. Each time they played well over 2.5 hours. If you like even a little Greenday (they're my favourite band of all time) it's well worth it
I was there! And also at the Isle of Wight Festival the week before - my first two Green Day concerts and hopefully not the last. A wonderful night. I was euphoric. Oh and they did All By Myself at the IoW as well, but I think doing it live is a new thing for this tour.
It was one of the most amazing nights of my life. I have been waiting to see them for the past 20 years. They totally blew me away. I was absolutely wrecked the next day though. I’m 41, so god knows how Green Day did it lol. Love them. 💚💚💚
I WAS THERE! First Green Day concert I’ve ever been to, and my daughters first ever concert. Got into Green Day when American Idiot came out, and I was about 12 years old. I had obviously heard other songs like Longview, Basket Case, but never really thought about it too much being only very young. It sounds cliche, but American Idiot really did change music for me forever, the way I listened and sought out new music, and my tastes for rock and punk music going forward. It was an amazing time and my daughter cried so much with excitement when they came out on stage (I also started crying 😂) a beautiful moment I will never forget.
Manchester was unbelievable! First time seeing them live. They absolutely lived up to the bullet in a bible dvd they released and not just cos I caught a stick from Tré before they even started. Hopefully it’s not their last tour cos I’d love to see them again
This was my first ever concert and I loved it! I have the bug now and cannot wait to go see more live bands! Will 100% have to see Green Day live again at some point! Loved Green Day my whole life and it was amazing to see them perform at Wembley! Was the best day of my life!
I was there too, agree with pretty much everything you said. Especially about the click, you could tell they weren't playing to a click and it was great to have that live rawness. Dookie also comes from an era when albums sounded more raw and had a lot less production and polish so for them to replicate that feel live really worked. Also as a guy in my mid-30s, I can totally relate to the slog of standing there for almost 3 hours lol, could barely walk afterwards. It was great fun though and the whole show flew by.
I’ve only been to 3 live gigs. Green day in 2017 July Hyde park. The killers in may 2022 and green day again in Wembley June 2024. I will be seeing them again with their next album tour. Absolutely incredible band and will always be my favourite. I will admit, I’m 26 and I was absolutely fucked by the end of it. Incredible night at Wembley.
I was lucky enough to see them in late 2005 in San Francisco - the end of the Idiot tour. The set was nigh identical to what is seen on Bullet in a Bible (the same tour). I've been dying to see them again ever since. They were great then, and they are great now. Fantastic performers, all of 'em.
I've seen Green Day 3 times live. BST Hyde Park 2017 on my birthday, Hella Mega Tour 2022 and Wembley. The later is my favourate gig out of the 3! Although my nan ringing me to wish me happy birthday while I was in the merch queue and then said merch queue spontaniously doing a rendition of "Happy Birthday" when they clocked what my chat was about I'll never forget.
Will be seeing these guys along with Rancid and Smashing Pumpkins later this year. Can’t wait Btw they advertised that they’re playing Dookie and American Idiot fully on this tour
It was the most awesome show I’ve ever been to. The longest, perhaps, also. It. Was. Fantastic. Never ever have I been able to sing along ALL SONGS in a concert.
I’ve been trying to watch greenday live for about 10 years and have bought tickets 6 times but because of exams and injuries missed out and to finally see them on this tour was the best night of my life
I've only had the chance to see Green Day once, in 2005, for the American Idiot tour. I still consider it one of the best shows I've ever been to. Looks like seeing them in September will be just as awesome. I can't wait.
I have actually seen one other band do this: UNDEROATH. They had a tour years ago where they played both 'They're Only Chasing Safety' and 'Define The Great Line', the two albums that made them huge back in the day, back to back and front to back. I sent to this tour, and it was amazing! If there was ever a show I'd want to go to for Green Day, this is truly the one! Those are my two favorite albums, and all my favorite other singles. This literally sounds like my most perfect setlist for the band!
A true performer/entertainer. Girlfriend back when they first came out told me they were a "one hit wonder". Now some 30 years later I went out of my way to find a digitally enhanced version, go figure.
Seeing them at the end of August! It will be my 4th or 5th time seeing them, and I finally got my family to go! I can't wait for them to experience this!
Been a fan for 30 years. Seen them during their Idiot tour. Though I love most of their catalog, songs like Going To Pasalacqua, 86 & Christie Road... are amongst my favorites. I really like Suzie Chapstick & Fancy Sauce from Saviors.

I promised myself when I saw them that first time that I would see them at least once for each new tour. Though I would LOVE to see them at a secret/ intimate gig.
Milton Keynes was excellent ✅
I think the repetition of their usual tricks is iconic because it is what makes them Green Day. Fans on stage, heeeeyyyyy ohhhhhhs, Billie Joe’s dramatic speeches, Tre’s weird antics and Mike Dirnting away, Time of your life at the end, the drunk bunny 🐰 It’s all just “them” and they’re so genuine, authentic and talented 💚
Travelled from Norway to watch this. I have loved Green Day since forever. This truly made my dreams come true.
Saw them in Dublin and they were absolutely amazing. Best concert I've ever been to, over taking the MCR reunion tour
Went to Saviors tour show last night Queens New York Citifield. Amazing show. These guys always put on a great performance
Homecoming is both mine and my brother's favourite Green Day song, we knew we needed to see this tour 😄
That’s nuts, that was my first concert too. December 8th 2000, Bouncing Souls supported! My favourite band ever, can’t beleive that was 24 years ago
Dude!!! That’s amazing. First concert twins 🤜🏻🤛🏻 Yeah I have enjoyed Bouncing Souls since that gig although their early material is not that accessible so took some getting into haha. But it was my first gig so they have a special place I my heart too.
W take man! My favorite band forever and always. They’re the best to ever do it at this caliber
Oh gosh! That’s awesome 🤘🏻
on June 22, 2000 in Atlanta, Georgia, 311 played their first two studio records in their entirety - Grassroots, then Music.
I’m seeing them for the first time in September and I know it’s gonna be awesome!!
That pretty much sums up the night I had last Saturday. I don't think Green Day will top that ever. What a moment it was. Great review.
Underoath did it in 2016 I believe. They played "They're only chasing safety" and "Define the great line" live back to back
Green Day quite literally loves rock and roll.
@@KingFunkinweren't they just? It was just mad!
Man. Thanks for this review. Gave me the chills just getting all this details ! Hope I get to see this someday !!
I keep trying to explain to people how monumental this tour has been, with Dookie and American Idiot being played in full, in order (specially AI, where the order matters a lot!). I love hearing other people as excited about it as I have been, and sharing that feeling of awe and disbelief.
They are amazing I’m hoping to see them in Boston!
Mike Dirnt rockin' the orange jumpsuit from the Basket Case music video 😁😁
I’m insanely excited to see them live in September, Dookie and American Idiot are the two albums that got me into Green Day and now I’m gonna be able to see both live
I went to the show in Glasgow at Bellahouston Park. Best day of my life!
My first ever international trip outside of Sweden. I am so happy I made the trip🥰
I've seen them twice before in Gothenburg and Stockholm back in 2017 during RevRad tour.
And I got a pick from a guy named Sam in their crew (he saw my sign) during Minority😭
I'd do it all over again if I could. The trip left me broke. But, anything for my SAVIORS❣
Next year they've kept me alive for a decade and I couldn't be more thankful😭❤🩹
I so agree! This video has perfectly captured what I thought! I didn’t go, as I live in another country but it’s amazing how much. They play with not only quality, but quantity. And they are truely amazing guys.
PS they have done “All by myself” live before, often with “Dominated love slave”, which is another one written and performed by Tré Cool 😊
Was a great gig, so grateful to have been there and had such an awesome time!
Wish I'd been there but thank god for you tube Green Day are my favorites for 20 years now
I'm almost half their age.
Agreed
Oh man. Greenday were my absolute formative band growing up, and Dookie THE album. So disappointed I didn’t get to see this. I don’t normally watch videos like this, but your enthusiasm was super infectious- really sold the emotion.
I was there absolutely amazing , what a show, 🎉🎉🎉🎉 brilliant band,
Just saw them in Washington DC opening night on the US tour - friggin awesome! Nice recap from Wembley - thanks!
Going to see them in Toronto when their NA leg of the tour kicks off. It'll be my 4th Greenday show, and they've all bee unreal. Each time they played well over 2.5 hours. If you like even a little Greenday (they're my favourite band of all time) it's well worth it
It was actually such a good idea to do these two albums and sprinkle in some new ones
I hope there will be a well produced Netflix or dvd version of that show!
Love them. 💚💚💚
@@siobhan28483 haha! So glad you finally got to see them. What a show!
What an incredible experience especially if they didn’t announce they would be playing both albums in full. Wow!
Ahhh that’s so sweet to hear. How cool for you 💙
Manchester was unbelievable!
@@punkstjimmyF1 haha yeah buddy! Tired legs: unite! 🤝 And totally, Dookie live sounded absolutely brilliant for every song.
Saviors is honestly one of my favorite GD albums, refreshing unlike a lot of the previous efforts over the past decade.
I loved the first few songs on it
I was lucky enough to see them in late 2005 in San Francisco - the end of the Idiot tour. The set was nigh identical to what is seen on Bullet in a Bible (the same tour). I've been dying to see them again ever since. They were great then, and they are great now. Fantastic performers, all of 'em.
my voice was dead by the end of the consert. loved it
I am going to see them in DC later this month. I saw them perform Dookie entirely in Belgrade in 2014. I can’t wait!
Haha that’s brilliant
Will be seeing these guys along with Rancid and Smashing Pumpkins later this year. Can’t wait
Btw they advertised that they’re playing Dookie and American Idiot fully on this tour
Yeah I missed that detail 😅
It was the most awesome show I’ve ever been to. The longest, perhaps, also. It. Was. Fantastic. Never ever have I been able to sing along ALL SONGS in a concert.
I can't believe they are in their 50's, while they have the stamina of many 20's don't have.
I am so excited for this! August cannot come soon enough!
twas my first concert after being a fan since 7 years old (thanks dad) lol. 22 now and that day rocked my soul to the core.
That’s so cool 🤘🏻
I’ve been trying to watch greenday live for about 10 years and have bought tickets 6 times but because of exams and injuries missed out and to finally see them on this tour was the best night of my life
I've only had the chance to see Green Day once, in 2005, for the American Idiot tour. I still consider it one of the best shows I've ever been to. Looks like seeing them in September will be just as awesome. I can't wait.
Watched them play both albums last night at fenway. It was great
They’ve played All By Myself many times live before. The string arrangement for it is what made it different and interesting.
Oh nice! Fair play to Underoarh
Saw them in Glasgow it was unbelievable
Motion city soundtrack did 4 albums over the course of 2 nights. “I Am the Movie” to “My Dinosaur Life”
I was there too - my second time seeing them. Unbelievable performance. Loved every single second.
I was there, and it was one of the best nights of my life. I still can't believe that I was lucky enough to experience it!
A true performer/entertainer. Girlfriend back when they first came out told me they were a "one hit wonder". Now some 30 years later I went out of my way to find a digitally enhanced version, go figure.
One of the best nights of my life for sure! had an absolute blast seeing my favorite album of all time American Idiot in full
Best Band live ever ❤❤❤❤
Seeing them at the end of August! It will be my 4th or 5th time seeing them, and I finally got my family to go! I can't wait for them to experience this!
Lovely review! So glad you had a great time!
Been a fan for 30 years. Seen them during their Idiot tour. Though I love most of their catalog, songs like Going To Pasalacqua, 86 & Christie Road... are amongst my favorites. I really like Suzie Chapstick & Fancy Sauce from Saviors.
Going To Pasalacqua and 86 are absolute faves of mine too!
I was at this gig too, but seated. Had a wonderful time 😊
