Eric Singer has such a precise timing sense, probably one of the best... and is still above the standart at every other manner, what a mechanical beast
This line up is great but it's not Kiss and that is fine. I mean it's the Gene and Paul side project just like Megadeth has a solid lineup but is the Dave Mustaine Project. I've seen original kiss and this kiss, both were great
I think KISS is still sounding and looking wicked onstage and doing a damn good job!! I loved them all of my life and still do!! Paul"s voice still sounds great. If any of you spent as many nights on tour as he has, your voice would be a little raw too, But he sounds great!! Many give Tommy and Eric a lot of criticism, but they do a fantastic job!! We all loved the original band, but this is KISS today and they are still kicking ass!!
I love KISS, they are phenomenal,& 40 yrs of rockin out they are still the BEST, i also love the current line up. Eric in my opinion is a very talented drummer & singer. Look up the Eric Singer project , he really seems like a cool guy
The Kiss members and their make-up designs - The Catman - Eric Singer, Peter Criss The Starchild - Paul Stanley The Ankh Warrior/The Wiz - Vinnie Vincent The Spaceman/Space Ace - Tommy Thayer, Ace Frehley The Fox - Eric Carr The Demon - Gene Simmons * Mark St. John and Bruce Kulick were the only two former members that did not wear make-up
+Zivorad Zika Pavlovic They actually never designed makeup for Bruce, he joined when the band already took off their makeup. He has said that's what he would have chosen to be, though.
Vinnie St Vincent- and his playing was Wooden! Vinnie Vincent wrote some of the Best Song's Kiss ever recorded! Master of Melody but a total fretboard Masturbator!
you could hardly find a frontman who gives himself up to his audience more than paul stanley have done through all these 40 YEARS... that's posibly the main reason he has fucked up his voice so bad to the point he basically can't sing no more nowadays... Anyway, his incredible legacy, and example, will live on forever for anyone who dares to step on on a stage. Top 10 rock and roll frontmen of all time. My deepest respect to this man.
Love it when they play this song live. Paul loves it so much he really enjoys playing it, and you can tell the way he feels it when he plays it by how great he IS at playing it. Any guitarist knows what I'm saying.
Seen these guys a couple of weeks ago in Irvine, Calif. One word: REMARKABLE! Forty years touring and still going strong and continue to be the greatest Rock show on earth. The Stones, Eagles, Rush etc. they're spectacular as well, but NO group puts on concert like KISS. Cannot wait to see them again, and Def Leppard was awesome as well.
They love fitting their awesome stage into really small venues. Has anyone else noticed that they're so happy and they talk close and personal when they're playing at clubs. Here, the valentines day thing they did for mending kids, Letterman and the Ed Sullivan theater. At all those smaller places, they always seem so happy, especially Paul.
It's a nostalgia machine, but they still sound pretty damn good. Singer's double bass and Thayer's shredding and extra notes in the solos make this incarnation sound distinct from the original line-up -- even if they are "aping" the originals.
Paul looks so great!!❤️They just played Jimmy Fallon’s show tonight 2018..They played Love Gun and sounded great with awesome laser lights and stageshow! The Farewell Tour will be one to remember for sure!
Got my first KISS album and first guitar Christmas 1975. A KISS fan is forever. Every band who made it after then should thank them for the inspiration.
I only wish the shadow of itself I saw during the reunion years was KISS playing this well. I hate the idea of Eric and Tommy in Peter and Ace makeup, but this is the best I've heard them sound in years.
HOLY CAT FARTS! They still sound great and they are as old as dirt now. I have loved Kiss since i was a kid and now that I am almost 50, I am amazed to hear how good they sound still. Great job guys!
+Mr. Logic Pants Yeah, and ES may be a better drummer than PC but his voice isn't even in the same ballpark (and this song suffers w/out PC's voice). TT may have Ace's parts down (and Gene's permission to wear Ace's makeup), but he's got zero charisma (remember that, Gene?). As someone who appreciates hard work, I do have respect for someone who went from cleaning Gene's gutters out (look it up-it's true) to playing Ace in KISS. But, there's only 1 Ace, people, and TT ain't him.
Agree on all points. This was a good performance and I enjoyed rocking out to it, but it reminded me yet again why I was such a big KISS fan back in the '70's. It was Ace's great lead guitar playing, which inspired me and countless others to play guitar and form garage bands. I give TT credit for playing Ace's parts just like Ace did. I like how they pulled the same moves as they did in their first tv performance (Midnight Special) in the 70s!...minus the drum kit still being intact by the end.
They still put on a great show. I just saw them at first I thought they were lip singing but then the voices started to crack missing pitches I love the pyrotechnics
Nobody plays or sings it like Peter. Sorry. Didn't say Eric isn't probably a more thecnical drummer, but anyone questioning Peters capability only needs to listen to his playing on Alive! It's the only thing that wasn't overdubbed in the studio.
Check out their performance on The Midnight Special, 4/1/1975. Think about this : Ever remember Carson putting a band on that had been around 40 years in 1975? That would mean they formed in 1935 or before! If so, let me know who it was, and people still listen to.
KISS:ALIVE! was the first record I was ever obsessed with, when I was 7 years old in 1977. I was a member of the KISS ARMY until the Makeup came off. After that, I was never a Hater, but the catalog got spotty for me. The whole "vibe" changed. It wasn't a Comic Book with a Hard Rock soundtrack anymore, it was just another Hair Band. I don't mean that to be dismissive, there are some incredible Hair Bands, and the Musicianship in KISS was always fantastic. Hair Metal just isn't really my thing. I am an Ace Frehley FANATIC. That said, I think the reason so many Hardcore Fans HATE the new kiss is because the "new guys" are not simply playing Kiss songs, they are seen to be Impersonating the originals. Tommy Thayer isn't playing "The Spaceman" in KISS, he's playing ACE FREHLEY in KISS. I get the whole "Kiss is a bunch of characters, that can be played by anyone who can play the songs" thing that I've heard Paul explain in interviews, but a lot of people don't.
They honestly put put some fantastic stuff with Bruce and while Tommy and Ace are worlds apart (I don't know what it is 🤷🏿♂️) he plays VERY well. I enjoyed him the two times I've seen them.
Eric’s always had such a great singing voice. I’m glad that he always used his own voice and never tried to replicate Peter’s when doing Peter’s songs, especially since his voice just fit the songs so well. I really wish they would have utilized his vocal abilities more over the last 20 years.
Ace used to stand around int he studio while Bob Kulick wrote and played his solos... The Spaceman is a character... Any tall, good guitar player could replace him...
Complete and utter baloney, Donald. Kulick did not "write and play Ace's solos". No one has ever claimed that -- not Gene, not Paul, not Peter, not Bob Kulick and not Ace. You're confused.
This was like the last time they did the hair wave. I love the hair wave but they didn't do it on the KISS 40 tour, or when I saw them on the Freedom to Rock tour, why is that?
The Respected Lex that’s bs. Eric Carr not only was faster than Peter but had a better voice. And Singer in the 90s was amazing. He’s singing like Peter and wearing the makeup because Paul and Gene wants him to
I'm not trying to start something but in my opinion Eric Carr was the best drummer out of peter and Eric singer. R.I.P I miss him and I wasn't even born when he was the drummer, I just had seen videos.😭😭😭😭 I ONLY GOT TO SEE KISS IN CONCERT ONCE BEFORE THEY SPLIT BACK TO THEIR OTHER BANDS!!😭😭😭 but I was honestly lucky enough to go once! ❤️❤️❤️oh and I love ace freelys laugh (sorry if I spelled his last name wrong)
Oh hell yes. Pete's #1 but Singer is great as well. Carr was not a good fit at all. I liked him though because he seemed pretty cool. Great stuff on The Elder.
You know, when Paul isn't straining his voice too hard he sounds great. And I hope Tommy wears knee pads when he goes down on his knees. Doing that stuff for several years without proper protection of his kneecaps totally trashed Ace's knees.
KISS is still rockin after allllll these years. You tools who whine and cry about "The original lineup" need to get a dang life. Ace and Peter where then and, in fact, held the band back due to their limitations. This lineup sounds better than the band has EVER sounded. Monster was an incredible album, better than most they have ever put out. Listen and enjoy, don't spend so much time hatin..
Gene wears a wig, Paul wears a wig. They have two wanna be's for lead guitar and drums. They still want to personify KISS in make-up. If you want KISS in make-up, drop the others and put ACE, and PETER back in the band, Rock and Roll !!!! jmo I'm sorry, but I won't pay for a ticket again unless the four are united again
+Brian Ferrell Have you seen Ace and Peter in the last decade? Stick to video and watch them in their prime. They would be thrown out of a local bar band today. They both pissed it all away.
No we don't, if we get them back, then KISS will sound 10 times worse. Peter is a terrible drummer, and Ace is just too weird now. Idk what happened to him, he's lost something.
Tyler Glynn Ace is my fave guitarist but he has always been this way, people just do not want to believe the truth, again...Thank God for Tommy and Eric and Peter has been horrible since 1979 and he was always a piece of shit. REAL KISS fans know this and speak the truth. Ace can't even sell out a small club on the east coast....
+Antichrist2000 He is 63 years old for God`s sake. Give it a rest, he still is better than 90% of the rock singers out there now. The talent pool in rock and roll today is rock bottom and that is being nice about it.
+Antichrist2000 Sad to say your Oh SOOoooooo right....Kiss is now just two has beens & two want-a-bees. I So miss the kiss of the 70's & even some of there 80's stuff...
riki269 2 extremely rich "has beens" and 2 very rich "wannabes" that you would trade places with in a micro second. I love the old Kiss stuff, but you know what? We all get old. Look at Ozzy, Malcolm Young, the Stones, etc. The "good old days" are just that.... good and very old.
i was just thinking that hey he's is doing all of aces moves right down to his knees i hav'nt seen them since 76' i wonder if he has a smokin flying guitar with a lightning bolt that jumps out now and again
Longtime fan here, since the 70's (saw them 3 nights in a row back in December 1977 at MSG, NYC, for example). KISS is not KISS without Ace and Peter! Just like RUSH would never be RUSH without the 3 original members (yeah, OK John Rutsey was on the first record, which kind of sucked anyway). They are irreplaceable!
@Rich Charles Get over yourself. Their band, their brand and they can do what they like with it. Yes the originals started it and did a sensational job of it and made it what it is today. But they also almost brought its destruction. Move On!
I believe in order to properly understand KISS you have to read or listen to the Audio version of Kiss And Tell Paul Stanley ' autobiography and it will make many things come into focus. For example it isn't like they didn't try to make it work with both Ace and Peter. As Paul relates it was like pulling teeth to get Ace and Peter to the gigs on time. Doc McGhee wanted to can them both back in 1996 when they were having all of the drama which Paul described and it was as if they were again trying the same shit they tried back in the '70's when they acted as if they wanted to sabotage the band. When you understand how little either Ace or Peter valued their legacy and the second and third chance in Peter's case which they got. Both Tommy and Eric earned their spots in the band's current lineup. After I read all of that back story I decided to give them another look. TO SOME yeah it kinda sucks not having Ace and Peter in KISS but Paul was left to mind the store so many times in the past he earned the final say in most of the pivotal moments in the band's Kisstory (pun intended). He said Ace and Peter fired themselves.
For me it's never been about the line up. It's about the songs. When approaching it from that perspective Paul and Gene are absolutely irreplaceable. Peter and Ace are... Also Ace didn't really write or play many the classic leads in Kiss' songs as far back as Alive. Bruce Kulick's brother Bob had auditioned for Ace's character right before Ace. The band was impressed but Ace had something they liked. They kept in tough and Bob was brought in to write and record solos on the live tracks as well as following new albums. Ace merely covered what Bob wrote and performed. Ace and Peter both made poor choices that led to their demise... Yes Paul and Gene are hardass businessmen. That's why they are still doing it and the rest are watching from afar...
Great song ,I think it was written from the heart about young girls having to sell themselves on the streets of Cali. I watched a extended version at a 79' show. I'm sure they didn't like the truth in their face.
peters got a good voice he really should of did more songs then he did in the past I admire someone who can hit those drums and sing at the same time. phil collins was famous for that. i noticed gene wasn't using his axe guitar like he so often does, but is a really great bass player. ace i admire cause he a great riff writer for not knowing how to read music. and well paul is always paul a great charismatic band leader along with gene. together they were a dynamic synergy of energy but any one of them on their own really could never get me to listen to em much except out of curiosity. The one thing thats really cool is that their makeup makes them timeless like they haven't aged a bit. until they take it off of course. so its kinda like looking at them in the 70s still. I was all about kiss in the 70s as a punk. anyone can say anything about kiss and their makeup was dumb or this or that. they are now a billion dollar group. so stick that in your proverbial pipe and smoke it.
The last KISS album I bought before I gave up on them was Revenge. Eric was blonde back then ? Yeah this didn't sound too bad but Criss's vocals gave the song that extra little bit of ....""urgency" is the only word I can think of. He put the song front and centre and in your face. Yeah he did it better than anyone.
I couldn't imagine anyone else singing but Peter, but Eric did an amazing job! And Paul sounded great in the beginning.
You should suss eric carr singing he was actually good
@@ardirexha3017 agree

Paul Stanley is the best front man in rock- bar none.
What a voice
And a patriotic American Band!
Love these guys!!!
KISS ROCKS!!!
No one sings this like Peter Criss and he sang with so much soul. Never forget he sang the band's two biggest hits.

Love me some Kiss
Love this song. Love Paul!! ❤ love love love!!!!!!!
Love them always 😁🤩
Paul is still one of the best singers in rock and roll history period
Kiss rules!!
I wish it was recorded like that
Beautiful😍😍😍😍
Quien en 2020 sigue escuchando estás rolas
Hit it !!
Kiss is awesome
i was just thinking that hey he's is doing all of aces moves right down to his knees i hav'nt seen them since 76' i wonder if he has a smokin flying guitar with a lightning bolt that jumps out now and again
I love this song
As I recall, the original vinyl version of "Black Diamond" included a 12-minute drum solo...
Umm...no
peter criss could only wish he can sing like eric can and play
Longtime fan here, since the 70's (saw them 3 nights in a row back in December 1977 at MSG, NYC, for example). KISS is not KISS without Ace and Peter! Just like RUSH would never be RUSH without the 3 original members (yeah, OK John Rutsey was on the first record, which kind of sucked anyway). They are irreplaceable!
@Rich Charles Get over yourself. Their band, their brand and they can do what they like with it. Yes the originals started it and did a sensational job of it and made it what it is today. But they also almost brought its destruction. Move On!
sweet song like papagonja123/musik!
THANK YOU!!!
You mean its a song about whores in new York that's where kiss were from
КРУТО!ЛЕГЕНДАРНЫЕ KISS!
Eric carr sung and played this song the best hands down
paul sounds better than in 2012
peters got a good voice he really should of did more songs then he did in the past I admire someone who can hit those drums and sing at the same time. phil collins was famous for that. i noticed gene wasn't using his axe guitar like he so often does, but is a really great bass player. ace i admire cause he a great riff writer for not knowing how to read music. and well paul is always paul a great charismatic band leader along with gene. together they were a dynamic synergy of energy but any one of them on their own really could never get me to listen to em much except out of curiosity.
Awesome as always!
Good Video, I like the painted Faces!
great covers band
best version
Paul's so happy he can sort of hit a note - Gene's like "ok".
KISSの曲は、聞きやすいです。
The last KISS album I bought before I gave up on them was Revenge. Eric was blonde back then ? Yeah this didn't sound too bad but Criss's vocals gave the song that extra little bit of ....""urgency" is the only word I can think of. He put the song front and centre and in your face. Yeah he did it better than anyone.
