- Connect your DJI Avata to an external monitor with the RC Pro. We’ll show you how in this video. All you will need are the Avata, Goggles, remote, RC Pro, USB-C to USB-C cable and a Mini-HDMI to Standard HDMI Cable. Once you have everything set up it is easy to get everything up and running.
We were tasked by a local police department to find a method to connect the Avata to an external monitor with a wired connection. This is the solution we came up with to address the need to have a secure private link. With this setup the latency is minimal and the RC Pro also enables Remote ID compliance.
If you are looking for a method to connect the Avata to an external monitor, then this might be the solution for you. This reliable setup will be a vital asset for the local law enforcement agencies we work with here in San Diego.

Been trying to do this for a minute THANK YOU!
Dude awesome information!
Glad it was helpful!
Sweet!!
Thank you for this insight. I was able to replicate your setup with my RC Pro.
I am now wondering if my older (sitting on the shelf) DJI “Smart Controller” .
As Ii haven’t flown my old Mavic-2 Zoom in ages, maybe I can find a use for it.
I just wish they would have HDMI in and out functionality on all of their goggles.
‘sup?! you sharedd good uploading. so long,=)
Thanks for sharing this video. Can we do this without the FPV Goggles?
Can we output to HDMI and still use the RC Pro? Need to output to the HDMI port without OSD.
Good video but does this only work with the Avate / O3 air unit? Does this method work with the Vista or any older DJI FPV camera model?
Hi! Thanks for info. Im wondering if this would work with goggles V2 + smart controller?
hello. is there any way to do this with goggles2 and the old smart rc (not the pro)?
Goggle v2 and goggle 2 have different resolutions of the image displayed in the goggles. Is it the same with images transferred via USB C?
Would a dji rc plus work ? Or just the pro ?
does it work with O3 air unit?
Does it work w rc 2 controller .. I’m confused
Hi @DronesMadeEasy
Nice! Did not know that was possible!!! Thx👌
This probably also works for the DJI FPV and Airunits I presume?
Cheers

Hi, I would really need to know if with the Goggles V2 you have output 1080p 50fps on the external monitor? It is very important and I cannot check it anywhere, does anyone know please?
Hi, can you control the Avata with the RC Pro? I can see it on my external monitor the connection is fine, but I still have to use the regular control or the motion controller to fly the avatar but not the RC pro? many thanks
No, unfortunately you cannot use the RC Pro to control the Avata. You will still need to use the FPV Remote 2 or the Motion Controller
Can anyone confirm if this method is still working or not?
I do not see the FPV live view function in my settings. Brand new RC but I did firmware update. Any ideas?
Do you have the black RC Pro Remote or the gray RC remote?
It’s possible switch off osd on external monitor on goggles 2 ? I need a clean image
Yes, as the user below @CS Drones Mexico has mentioned you can go to the settings in the goggles to turn off the On Screen Display. Inside the goggles menu go to Settings > Camera > Advance Camera Settings and turn off "Camera View Recording"
Looking the same 🙄🙄
Easy! After following the steps showed on this video.
On Googles 2 go to Settings > Camera > Advance Camera Settings and turn off "Camera View Recording".
Enjoy! 👍🏼
