The beginning of Choujin X shares a few things with Tokyo Ghoul that's for sure, but the way Ishida takes it completely another path is just great, the story so far is fantastic, I totally recommend you to keep read it

Ok I’m definitely looking forward to diving further into it!

The art is stellar, Ishida really knows how to make creepy monsters/ creatures.
Same as you know worried we're going to get the same story, but I have faith.
Looking forward to volume 1, though I think I've read up to volume 3

Yo man! Nice to see you. I think it has the opportunity to improve in Tokyo Ghoul, and another commenter said they preferred it! I’ll probably try and read up to date then maybe make another video if this one does well!

Keep going, trust the schedule of free mangaka without deadlines and no editor, the story will surprise you

I haven't seen or read any of his work before (ofc i have heard alot about Tokyo Ghoul)...but what would you recommend (to read physically)....Chojin X or Tokyo Ghoul?
(Just wanted to know your thoughts)

Reading physically - Tokyo Ghoul. You can get the whole series in a box set, alongside RE (the sequel series!

The redrawn Chapter 2 flows a lot better than the online version. A bit sad we lost a couple of nice double pages, but definitely is more readable.
I think overall I really want more people to get into Choujin X. Not just because it’s Ishida and the story/art is amazing, but also to support this type of loose schedule he has with the manga. A lot of manga authors have to stick with a strict schedule, which can lead to burnout, fatigue, or (worst-case scenario) develop heath problems. Supporting Choujin X means we can support better working conditions for manga authors.
Sorry for getting sappy, but I’m just happy I get to financially support the man XD

Hey Yash! I wasn’t aware it had that sort of schedule, that’s actually really awesome. It’s definitely something the manga industry struggles with, so I’m more than happy to support!

Great video! The one thing I would say is to keep going because the manga is really starting to have its own style and identity now. The build up is a little slow, but absolutely worth it imo

Hey John! That's awesome to hear, I am going to be continuing the series on the Shonen Jump App - but I'm reading something else at the moment!

Hey Lingesten! It's definitely worth giving it a go - but I recommend maybe checking out a few chapters on the Shonen Jump App first before buying the physical manga!

This originally going to be on my pickups list for the month, but honestly, I’m going to have to wait on this one. Trying to cut back on starting to collect new series when I already have so much on my shelves I haven’t read. I definitely plan to get into this at some point though because it looks really dope and to be quite frank, I have higher hopes for this than TG.

I don't think comparing this new work to tokyo ghoul is really a good idea, or really any artist that make different works. By that logic, why not compare this to This Gorilla Will Die? Imo its better to look at these things as individual creations rather than "oh hey this guy made this thing I wonder if it will be similar?"

    • @TheNerdLounge
      @TheNerdLounge  Год назад +2

To be fair that’s a good point! I don’t actually say within this video which is better - just mention their similarities
