  • I honestly had SO MUCH fun coming up with this ending for Berserk! Obviously, this is just for fun - but I do truly think some of these theories / story threads will pan out close to how I've envisioned them. Hopefully we will get to see within the next 10 years!

    Sonia betraying Griffith is unlikely, that girl would probably toss herself into a fiery pit if Griffith said so. Zodd is more likely to go his separate way.

    • @Thecoolguy463
      @Thecoolguy463 Месяц назад +3

      It’s more likely than you think. She may see Griffith for what he truly is eventually and all the things he’s done to get where he is. If most knew the real Griffith they wouldn’t have so much trust in him.

    • @TheNerdLounge
      @TheNerdLounge  Месяц назад +7

      Zodd is definitely moving away from Griffiths side - we can see that in the recent chapters. But Sonia’s animosity is also growing, and I think it will be fuelled by her jealousy of Casca more than a betrayal of Griffith. Casca being around is going to cause problems in Falconia

    On one side, Sonya seems like the kind of person that would blindly follow Griffith regardless of his actions. Sonia will def turn on griffith and somewhat redeem herself. There's too much focus on Schierke and Sonia for them not to befriend each other in the end. that whole miniarc in the slave docks where they talk about their struggles gives it away. Most likely outcome is that Sonia gets devastated after seeing griffith's true form and breaks down, that's when schierke comes in with that "owl and the kite" schmeal. Maybe the fantasia state of the world is broken during the whole final battle between guts and griffith, therefore people start going back to living in villages, which leads to schierke going on a journey (like Flora did) of helping those in need after the world has kinda gone back to "normal". That would close up her character (since she's introduced as someone who hates humans) but now has companions (Mule and Sonia) to help her in this humanitarian mission. I can't think of a way that makes all those characters feel more fully developed than that.

So for the ending to not be grim, they'd have to free at least the souls of those marked by the godhand, including guts and caska, otherwise guts' entire journey will never be actually complete, if he dies while still marked he's just going to hell anyway to be tortured for eternity.

    i appreciate you doing this and its not all too bad but if you dont mind i have a few criticisms im just gonna leave here.
    i think sonia betraying griffith is unlikely. even if she saw casca's memories. characters like zodd are foreshadowed to betray griffith but i doubt sonia would, def not that quick anyway. also the beast becoming a physical entity is just dumb and out of nowhere. i dont mind the idea of it being given physical form but the context for it is just not making sense here. we see griffith looking at the beast in . its just a representation of guts' insanity, not an actual demon. and zodd just deciding to let guts through after guts hesistates to kill him???????? fr? zodd will def become atleast vaguely friendly with guts and betray griffith but not with just another simple duel, zodd needs a reason to leave griffith the same way guts left griffith. zodd already looks like hes questioning griffiths actions when griff takes casca to falconia.
    i also think this ending completely ignores the fact that guts is useless currently? he cant aim with his throwing knives, hes nearly fucking blind, brother dropped the dragon slayer while training on elfhelm and the most recent chapter could be implying that hes lost ALL of his eyesight. without the berserker armour he is literally crippled.
    the god slayer thing is dumb and a bit OP. i like the idea of guts shattering causality, but i still think you should at least incorporate Skull knights betchi sword into it, maybe that stuff can be layered on the dragon slayer, good chekovs gun situation since its already established in the story. if it doesnt work on griffith it can at least work on other apostles or god hand members. i think cascas healing is far too rushed, especially in such a traumatic environment with her abuser right there. if casca was right there surrounded by all of that triggering stuff she would have a complete mental breakdown. grifffiths humanity being his downfall is really good tho, since most of the apostles guts defeats (mainly during black swordsman but also lost children) are killed by guts taking advantage of their remaining humanity like the slug counts daughter being held hostage.
    i like the idea of the cycle being that every 5 eclipses they just sacrifice a city / kingdom full of people. its cool and it provides an explanation as to what we saw through the berserker memories, plus i think that was already kinda implied considering the city we saw being cooked by tentacles during gaiserics memories.
    i also think that griffith will betray the godhand rather than the other way around. in the same way griffith made his way out of the den of snakes in midland all trying to kill him, he will manipulate his way through the godhand so that if they do try and betray him and shatter his dream, he will be prepared. its the perfect chekovs gun for this situation. his human impulses being his weakness is a great idea, parallels his torture being a result of his night with the princess. that being said, i think void and SK paralleling griffith and guts is also something to be said. void could have plans within plans, seeing himself in griffith and preparing for any potential betrayel from him, not to mention the fact that the old godhand is gone for some reason, which could have been voids doing.
    speaking of skull knight, hes definetly not done cooking up plans to take down the godhand. the fact that skull knight is at least a thousand years old means that 1. griffiths "distorted space" is something SK isnt familiar with. and 2. that means the betchi sword would most likely work on other godhand members. we also see void deflect SKs sword with a portal rather than it just phasing through, and that wasnt even the sword of acctuation, so i definetly think SK could kill a godhand member with the acctuation-behelit juice.
    the moonlight child wont have such an easy answer. i 100% percent believe guts would sacrifice it to kill griffith but it def wont be as simple as simply splitting them both. best case scenario they work it out like divorced parents, griffith gets his body back on weekends and casca and guts get their kid during the weekdays, but for some reason i doubt itll be that simple. also im sorry but the "idea of good" is corny and doesnt fit berserk at all. there is no paradise for you to escape to. it also ignores the fact that berserks world *is* currently in a stage of hope despite the fantasia apocalypse. people are hopeful for the future, griffith is literally a saviour and that is a result of the people of the world desiring and manifesting an era of hope through the collective consciousness. i dont think guts will die but i dont think hes gonna have a happy ending and change the world for the better either. berserk will always be gray. not happy but not hopeless either.
    this ending also completely ignores the perfect oppertunity to use the "rickert slap" checov gun. rickert is the only character to physically lay a hand on griffith after hes reborn from the conviction arc ceremony. there is at least some plan to physically harm griffith foreshadowed into the story and we know that because of the slap. i think berserks references to spirituality could mean its to do with intention, as in anyone intending harm on griffith is physically unable to, but rickerts slap was more of a shameful disrespectful slap rather than intending to inflict pain. the only other moment anyone even manages to get a hair off griffith is when guts swings his dragon slayer at him in chapter 366, when he LITERALLY only gets a single strand of griffiths hair from him.
    i think the god hand could be trying to manifest the idea of evil into the real world, kinda similar to the mind flayer from stranger things. weve seen slan manifest herself a physical body using troll entrails before, and we saw one of the other godhand members do something similar with rats, so the idea of evil manifesting itself into reality maybe through the world spiral tree with human flesh or maybe even the sacrificed bodies of the previous empire isnt too farfetched, could be something similar enough to gaiserics memories, like theyre feeding the people of falconia / previously gaiserics empire straight to the idea of evil. it would raise the stakes as now there is a giant lovecraftian boss battle they have to deal with, like the AOT ending lol (not that i like the aot ending).
    edit: one more thing. considering guts is going blind, lost his ability to taste, etc. i think his fate is a lot like griffiths vision of being taken care of by casca as a cripple after his torture. guts will never be able to wield a sword again after this war, not unless he gets a fresh body and that is not happening if were being real

      Bro said "A Few Criticisms" then wrote an essay :D Thank you for the effort you put into this comment!
      Like I said at the start, this video was just for fun - and if I'd given events a lot more thought they probably would have coincided more fluently. A few of the thing you mentioned were definitely my "means to an end" - such as the Sonia betrayal, the Godslayerand Guts' current state.
      The "Humanity" thing you mentioned is something I NEEDED to include - especially after my reread of Black Swordsman. It's a running theme that the Apostles maintain humanity - and so does Griffith (through his actions towards Guts and Cas). So this being his downfall seemed right.
      Again, thank you for your effort into this comment - it was a really interesting read - especially your own personal theories!

Should all of Guts' perservierence be rewarded with failure just to stick it to everyone?

      @@revengance4149 "there is no paradise for you to escape to". theres a reason 364 was the cannon last chapter to so many fans. berserk will not have a bleak ending but it will not have a 100% optimistic ending. guts perservierence will be rewarded but god, it will not be as easy as "kill le bad guy with enchanted sword". guts is crippled, he is going blind, there is no chance he uses the berserker armour in this war and doesnt become a literal bean LMFAO. there is no chance the moonlight boy and griffith simply just split into 2 different beings. this is not a shonen

      @@phantom2615 no this isn't shounen, this is fanfic, good fanfic imo, but just fanfic. I'd assume it would be more bittersweet as well as you said, most likely some thing that happened here will actually come about this way while other plotpoint won't be solved that easily. That said "Berserk is dark and thus cannot have a happy ending" is still one of the most braindead takes I ever heard. The problem with this ending are that it seems unrealistic and convienient (as to be expected from a fanfic of such a complex and delecate story) but not that it's to happy. Berserk can end with all the characters on a picknick so long as it feels earned. Im exgagerating but you get the point. also something being a shounen does not mean it's written worse than any given dark fantasy

      Exactly. Whilst this video is a 100% optimistic ending - I don't think that's the actual way it will go. BUT there is going to be some happiness in the ending - otherwise the story is literally "Big man swing big sword"....

      I’m not gonna lie, yeah that’s weird. Their relationship has its struggles - but they truly love one another, it’s basically the point of the whole story.
