Best to add a seat at the back glued to the drill contraption that way u just need to sit in the back and add the torches as it moves which helps free your other hand for drinks or what ever.
Yeah that's another way of doing it. The thing with these contraptions are that they can easily get adapted to suit each players individual needs. For me I never add a seat as I run along harvesting all the other exposed ores anyway. So a quality seat will be wasted on me. 🤣
I love this machine. In about an hour I managed to mine a stack and a half of diamonds. This machine mostly collects cobblestone, but it is amazing for exposing ores and building tunnels. 10/10 machine, would recommend
Noone! Thank you so much for the honest rating! Yeah the cobblestone/Deepslate or even Nether Rack it collects can be a PAIN, but at least the valuable ore it exposes makes up for that! Glad this Contraption has been helpful to you and eager to hear your thought when testing it in other dimensions!
Something I added to mind was funnels, and I just added the deep slate (since that's what I was mining through) to the filter so it would be ejected and I'd have so much more room for the things I actually wanted
Hey datadagelishvili702, its something I did right after the tutorial. So it will be better in the future vids. Thank you for the suggestion. Appreciate it. Also apologies for the late reply, irl got a bit busy and took over.
One thing that doesnt add a lot of complexity to this build is adding deployers to build a tunnel around the tunnel bore and also to place blocks in front of the tunnel bore so it will destroy lava and water as it moves forward. With the caves and cliffs update, underground water pools are much more common and it will destroy the rails if you do not destroy source blocks and build your own tunnel. Building a tunnel also makes it possible to function in the nether for netherite scrap mining
Thank you for the comment. Also as of the caves and cliffs update water and lava does not destroy rails anymore. So thats okay. The big enemy to this machine now is Dripstone and kelp 😂… but I am working on a revised version of this with a few new additions.
@@Veilamia I recently rebuild it in my 1.20 Playthrough and everything still works exactly the same, My only addition was an extra drill at the bottom to ensure it removes Dripstone and other items that might break the machine. I can share some info over on my Discord.
Thank you so much. The OLD Pinned comment got unpinned with newer Videos. So I added your list to the description and left a Special thanks! Happy Mining!
If you add a drill infront of where you are placing the cobble you can mine a line, place redstone blocks, mime them back up so dont use up any redstone and then you can use powered rails instead of a furnace minecart, if you want the tunnel to still have a bridge you can place a deployer behind as well
Hey jamesdugo3048, we discussed the Redstone addition to the drill before, and have to admit this is the best solution out of the bunch. I can see how I have to make a revised Video once the new Create Update comes out, showing a bunch of new ideas and suggestions by the viewers. Thank you for the feedback and suggestion.
Hey, I don't really get where you put the drill. Do you replace the andesite casing Infront of where the deploy is placing cobblestone with a drill? Would it be automatically powered? Edit: deployer behind what?
@@Levi89723 It's been a while since I looked at it but as far as I remember, there are a few different deployers, one in front to put a block down for the track to be placed onto/the contraption to run on, the deployer placing the track, and the suggestion I was making is that you can mine out the block that the track would be placed on, place down a redstone block, put a powered rail onto that block (instead of normal rail) then pick up the redstone block with a drill further back in the contraption. This will however leave a hole if the contraption crosses a ravine so it needs a deployer behind the contraption to replace the block (that had been replaced with redstone). tldr: you can use redstone blocks under powered rails rather than charcoal/coal but it's honestly more effort than just making a tree farm and charcoal cooker
oopsies! i accidentally built this where it will go straight through a village! silly me!😊whatever will those poor villagers do when their precious homes are obliterated?
August 2024 and this mining machine is still used in my world every day. Its only weakness which i found out the hard way was when mining through a mineshaft with rails already placed. The machine will start to follow the pathing of the rails and change its path. Other than that, perfect machine for early and even late game use!
Sleepyaiden! NO! Haha. I have not been in a position where I got stuck on a Mineshaft track, and I am so grateful for that... My new version (One using in my current Create Adventure Series) has one additional drill that removes the Block the rail gest placed on. Thus it will destroy possible tracks and maybe eliminate this problem... Will have to do some Testing thou! Glad this contraption has been a help for you and hope the Mineshafts do not cause too much trouble going forward! Take Care!
Thanks to you, I made a tunnel drill machine, and a tunnel wall machine to cover the inside with bricks put by deployers. Now, thanks to my item filtering factory and my auto smelting and cutting stone, I can empty my digging machine, turn cobblestone into stone and stone into stone bricks, and load it into my tunnel builder machine before using it. In a mater of minutes. Building my tunnels for my train will never be faster and easier than it is now. Yes, I love create.
I am so Happy this could help you. In my First Create world I had with friends mine was also unloading automatically and processing everything for me. I have to admit the New Series I have not gotten round to it yet, nor have I even started fixing my Tunnel walls. So maybe I should take some inspiration from you now. Thank you again for the support. I appreciate it and enjoy Create! Ps. I love this mod too!
@@Deosil25 well I will be uploading videos on my Minecraft channel called MrBarn - Minecraft TV in some days, it’s in french, but after episodes 10 or some sort, maybe you will see what I was able to build !
😂😂😂 THIS! This had me in STITCHES! This video never fails to deliver some amazing comments. I am glad you like the SAFFA Accent and I do think its improved in some of my newer content. I appreciate the comment and thank you for the Laugh! Hope the Mining Machine helps you out a lot!
i have no words for what ive seen... you can basicly move all of your base chests with items or even your base if you have enough glue and just move it to another place... seems balanced
HAHA! BigBowl, YES! You can just make a complete portable Base. So I have in my one world Built a Storage Room on a Drill Setup that I can Doc with main Base. It has its own Wind Power and more. So its pretty "Balanced" Think it will make it fun for more Nomadic Players thou.
Hey Euromatrixkung, I am glad the tutorial was at least easy to follow and made sense. Looking forward to hearing how it works for you and what you do with this machine. Appreciate the comment.
Created similar, but 3*3 variant. I dont think 5*5 make a huge difference due to the mechanics of ore spawning. Im using the mining corridor the bore machine produces mainly to access new caverns. Also the bore machine doesnt disassemble rails, tunnel feels more natural with rails staying (however, the iron cost increases, but im okay with it).
Hey Resursator. Thank you for the comment. That's what I like about the machine, its the possibility to make it any shape you want to meet your requirements. I was thinking now that it would be possible to make the machine place other blocks as well, that way you can create the tunnels in a lot more detail! To almost match the Original MC Tunnels. The iron use could somewhat get offset by using the cobble to get nuggets again, but that's a whole separate machine in the long run.
@@Deosil25 indeed, I created iron generator to feed the bore machine. And yes, you can decorate tunnels, but this would make the machine a lot more massive and it would increase resource demand even more, so I didn't make it. I would like to add torch placing to it, but I couldn't think of the way to make it place the torch not on every block. You probably need a different approach to the bore machine for this, something like a flying piston machine in vanilla. Self building bridges made by Mumbo are similar to what I think the bore machine with auto decorations could be. But it's too complicated to make, so I'm fine with the way it works right now)
I just built my 3x3 one from scratch today and I also didn't add the plough, rails could be useful if I wanted to e.g. send chest minecarts back home later on
Hey Jonnytb212, I am so happy that this helped you and your friends. We all have our own on the server as well, and its super helpful. You can also run it in the Nether and End, just a bit more Dangerous. Happy Mining!
thank you this worked perfectly! i needed hundreds of cobblestone for a build and it took only a matter of about a minute to get it with this mining machine :D
One huge tip. Instead of a powered minecart, just make powered rails, and make it place down redstone Blocks, and then mine the redstone Blocks. It Powers the whole machine and is infinite. Since you only need about 6 powered rails its also quite cheap.
Hey Imonshrooms! Yeah have a small variant like this in a "chill" world I play on, and it works like a charm. I might be doing a Update Video on this real soon and then I will add that to the Mix for sure! I appreciate the suggestion!
thank you i used this in the nether and it was going smooth. Its 100% better than any other tutorials i watched ur getting a sub for this! im using this in the overworld too !
Hey UnderZeroGaming, so happy you found the tutorial helpful, I am however concerned that you have to mine the Netherite Manually. Mine can mine it without a problem. It does take a bit longer thou.
bruhh i play create mod in android, i use pojav launcher with forge 1.19.2 and create 1.19.2 mod along with it and other mod. works just fine, no need pc 😂
@@juan78268 lowered the render distance to 4, turned off all settings regarding graphics ingame, it lags within just 10 seconds but i get 30 fps i think the maximum?
I think if you're going with the furnace minecart way and not the powered rails' one you can add a deployer (In my contraption I've put it just between the cobble deployer and rail deployer) which feeds coal to the minecart. It appeared to work properly to me as about 10 pieces of coal disappeared from the chest as the contraption started mining Edit: I was wrong, I've put it below the cobble deployer
That is a nice way to automate the coal feeding. Busy working on my rework and might just borrow this idea and add it to my contraption. Thank you so much. Appreciate it.
Pointed dripstone stopped the contraption (because it couldn't lay down a block on it and the drill didn't hit it because it was below it), but I guess that's not something very common :) Thanks for this explanation
Hey AhDeh, So what I did in my Survival world was extend one drill down so I would pick up the lower block as well, and then just replaced it. But like you mentioned it does not happen that often. Still a pain thou!
Permastuned, I agree with you there, and just when you think you figured out a Farm, then you come up with a NEW way of making a farm work! Really some amazing features this mod brings to the table.
this is awesome, thank you, I am new to create, but this has got me thinking - a 3rd deployer pointing sideways with torches in to light them walls up in your tunnels
This is a idea I pondered myself, but the only thing is the fact that you will need A LOT of torches... But that is no to big of a problem once you have a tree farm? Also Welcome to the CreateMod and I am looking forward to seeing some of your Builds. Appreciate the comment.
I was thinking maybe there’s a way to slow down the torch déployer so it just lights up the area? Also if you ever see this, is it important for the main block to be andesite casing and if so why?
@@MagicXRoads534 I did see this! 😊😊 So I have not found a way to slow down the deployers for torch placing. Think their speed is relative to the speed of the minecart contraption - I sound like a scientist. As for the Casing. NO. There is no need for it to be made out of A. Casing at all. I just used it myself in the Tutorial as it looks neat, but you can use other blocks as well. I recently build one that had Girders incorporated. Hope this helps, happy mining!
This is how the Mega Miner on the Create SMP Started out. So now you can build one on your own CreateMOD World. Also do Like and Subscribe, as it really helps me out a lot.
Hey Migatinhachik, I am so happy you could use this! I also want to welcome you to the Create Community! There are so many awesome Builders out there and if you have time you should watch my Create Lets Play series and come hang out with the community!
Thank you so much Samdemanable, Kind words like these really motivates a person. Have been thinking about re-doing this Video in the latest version of Create, just to make sure I cover changes and such, but will see. Again. I appreciate the comment.
@@Deosil25 Oh yeah, I did end up making a small modification to account for dripstone and other modded blocks that the rails wouldn't cover. I'm playing the 1.20.1 version. Did you ever find a solve for flowing water and lava destroying rails?
As far as I know, using casings for the structure itself isn't really necessary as long as you don't mind using more glue to connect the blocks you use instead as if they were casings. And that way you can customize the way your mining machine looks even more.
Hey Golockout, Yeah you do not have to use the Casing. I did one in my recent survival World that looks like a Steel Lawnmower thing. 😂 So you can really use any block you want. Like you said just make sure its all glued together!
My harvester won't pick up the tracks for some reason, it goes with the contraption but refuses to do the cleanup. Edit: Realized I used a harvester instead of a plow
Hey Tombstone3echo! So happy that this tutorial is still helping people! I do think I need to make an updated one real soon to improve GUI size and answer some more recent questions! Happy Mining (Or Destroying) using this machine!
@@Deosil25 I encountered one big problem, today, for some reason, my contraption breaks out to the left immediately after starting it and i have got no idea why. I tried it with several different positions. It always does it. I can place it and start it but it builds the tunnel with a 2 block forward one block left movement. I have comepletely rebuilt it and it still does it
Strange, you did rememeber to Lock Rotation on the Cart Assembler BEFORE you turned it into a contraption. I know that's the one thing, and also note that the Cart Assembler has a Arrow on the top pointing in the "Forward" direction. Not sure if that could influence it as well.
Hey Jason! The South African viewers have been popping up more and more over the past few months and I enjoy seeing our local community in the comments! Lekker to be part of something like this. Hope you enjoyed the Create Drill Tutorial and should check out the Create Lets Play I am doing. Learning a lot there myself. Appreciate you being here.
LosstAndFound, I am not sure how I made that tutorial, but I only noticed in this year that the Cart Assembler has a Arrow on top of it showing the Direction. HAHA So I get it 100% Glad the tutorial at least helped you out!
Corey I am so glad it helped! I use it for the same purpose as well as mining. Now I just need to make a contraption that can make my tunnels pretty! A friend gave me some basic lessons in World Edit... But I tend to destroy things so I stay away from it! HAHA
You don’t need world edit, just use the /fill command, it’s vanilla, /fill [1st cords] [2nd cords] [minecraft_block], also you can look at a block and press tab three times for it’s cords!
@@BeastyBundy Hey BeastyBundy, Thank you for this, but already use this command. Word Edit just does certain things faster in my opinion. Appreciate the feedback.
@@Deosil25 words edits definitely faster and better but it’s more complicated and less user friendly, plus not vanilla which is why I was trying to help this guy
Once you get this one done it makes everything so much easier in the future, as you never have to do those manual mining missions again! So do share once you got this one built.
Wheat Farms (And Farms in general) are fun and easy little builds. You can use my Nether Wart Tutorial as a base for it, and just replace the crops and growing medium. Goodluck and have fun!
Hey MrNovenkij, So this server and Build is for Minecraft 1.18.2 and this machine has been Lava and Water tested and it works 100% and does not flush away. So no worries in regards to that happening at all.
@@MrNovenkij Rails are save from water and lava I think from version 1.18. SO this machine should be future-proof. Granted it could be improved if Create brings out some new additions in the newer updates.
@@Deosil25 but I have an interesting case. It breaks if it cannot place a rail, for example, on a seaweed. In my (mods) case, the seaweed was in lava and even the lava-proof version broke. To protect against this, need to add a drill to the level below, where the stone and rails will then be placed.
@@MrNovenkij Yes that would break it. Even if there is Lichen on the block, but that will majority of the time only happen if you start it out in the ocean. My drill from the SMP has harvested so much ore and the one time it did break was due to me not putting in the right block to build bridges with. I guess there is always the odd chance, makes it fun and might even visit the idea of building a Second version in the New Create Update.
Hey Michaelwawak, I am really glad that the tutorial helped you out. I am hoping to create an updated Video over the next week (If time allows). So if you have any questions, or things not in the Video. Please let me know as I am busy compiling a list of things to improve in the next version.
laurencesoro it runs in the lava, working 100% normal as per the MC Update 1.17 where lava and water does not affect Minecart. SO I have mine and what it does is just run through it as normal. So only the player needs to be careful. Do think I left a note in the Description., but feel free to let me know if you have any specific questions. Appreciate you being here.
I've seen a few designs with redstone blocks but honestly if I want to mine for shorter sessions this technique with the Furnace Minecart might be the move
The Redstone blocks are nice and all, but I tend to run along side the contraption and mine the extra exposed ores. So for me this has been the one that works for my situation - Plus Redstone is better used in other components. I like these contraptions as they are really versatile enough for players to adapt them to their specific needs. Glad this could help you and happy mining!
@@deejudanne460 So as far as I understand, if the Contraption is in "Contraption Mod" by powering the Cart Assembler. Then you cannot open the inventory. you can right click it with the fuel source thou.
Hey I absolutely love the idea and the design! I tried to add a little "safe-room" where someone could sit and afk on a chair but I encountered a problem where lava would go through the entire machine since the machine isnt "solid blocks", rather a moving entity once in action. Do you have any ideas on how to combat this to make it fully AFK-able? Cheers.
Hey MrQuackios, This is true... So it will make it all contraption once you activate it... I am wondering if one can maybe make the machine build a roof over your head? That you can either leave, or remove again? This might be something I look into soon!
mkCool I think its got to do with the Version of Create you are playing on. I started playing in 1.18 (Same as the tutorial version) and its just always been that way... What version are you on? Maybe that is the reason for single Stick.
Icequake I am so glad you could use this machine. The ide of just having it build your rail systems is a interesting one indeed... I am also sure you can change it up so it decorates the tunnel as well... Might look into that myself.
Thank you for the tutorial, I plan to give this a whirl tomorrow. I was just wondering what happens if it encounters water or lava...? Any issues? Also the biggest problem I had in the past was silverfish blocks and the silverfish pushing the contraption off the rails.
Hey Sonjamclellan, I am so happy you like the Tutorial and you should totally send me a picture of your miner over on Twitter or Discord. Would like to see it. As for the Lava and water. I use this one in the nether and it has gone through water caves and it just keeps going. So that's good news, As for the Silver Fish. That's something I would have to look into. Will report back ASAP!
Hey Hex, I just need to do some more testing, but I think the contraption should work in water caves, since the updates that allow for rails to be placed under water, but me running out of air is still the problem. So I am working on a machine that builds a tunnel while I mine, so should keep the water away. I hope.
This thing is op. We wanted more copper, so I made one of these around y=30. Eventually it made it to the ocean. Well, it kept going. I had already put it through literal LAVA and it was okay, so I figured it was fine. Well, it was doing great until it encountered its nemesis: KELP. Apparently, kelp grows fast enough that after the machine drills through it, it will regrow and block it from placing cobblestone underneath itself for the track. So I spent a few hours helping it out of the kelp fields. Eventually, it made it to the forest across the ocean and started mining again. Kelp: Literally the worst.
Hey Paulsampson, The first time I made this I thought I was going to hate Lava and Water, but strange enough it ran perfect in the Nether and Underwater Caves! I can strongly agree that Kelp is a pain, but do not forget dripstone. On the odd occasion you run into a dripstone cave where there is a small piece of dripstone that occupies the space where a block needs to be placed, and in those moments... You want to rage! I am however working on a new Miner for the new update, and if it changes a lot I will post a new Video! Just happy you could still use this to get some resources.
@@Deosil25Would you be able to put another drill to dig a small channel one block below the main drills, and then fill that in? That may fix the problems of blocks that rails can't be placed on.
@@evexec07 Yeah I recommended this to someone els comment. That maybe just doing that to ensure you can always place a block. Might even do two blocks. Also been playing with the idea to build a canopy, that way you can ride it AFK while it mines and you do not get burned or drown while AFK.
😂😂 Did you remember to LOCK rotation on the Cart Assembler before turning it on and making it a contraption. That is the only possible solution to the problem.
Hey Noscopemonkey, so Tango I believe did figure something out in regards to torch placing. So I will see if I can go check it out. Because placing the torches are a downside. Well I do not mind as I mine the ores it misses. But it would be better. Thank you for the comment.
Hey Unearthly_Child_ They say you need to improve on every Video you make, and that was the one thing I have improved on for this video. Just a pity I did not realise it while recording this Video. Might revisit this tutorial with the next Big Create Update. Thank you for the feedback. Appreciate it.
I did not think of that. This might be something I look into. Thank you. As for how I am currently doing it. So the one on the Create SMP is pretty big. But it still misses ores in the floor and roof. So I mine those manually and while I do that I just place torches. 😂 But agree. Not the best use of my time.
great video it help me create my own contraption just a quick note what's the max distance it travels off one coal/charcoal usage as looking to make a massive underground base using this to mine out the space for it Absolutely loving the create mod
Hey Coffeemiesterable, I am not really sure how far it goes Per Coal, as it depends on the Blocks in its way. Some Blocks take longer to mine than others, also falling gravel can also affect it. Well I am eager to hear how the underground Base turned out!
Hello Im_Violet. So this miner can run through Lava and water without stopping. Thinking it would be easy to fit it to cover lava patches, but that will only work if run the machine one level above Lava lakes. Something interesting to look into.
Can i use this contraption using netherack in the nether without problems or is it even ok with mining trough lava and other stuff in the nether? I need some netherite and a mining drill is perfect for that
Hey Mandam2011, so as of Create 1.18 (when I built this drill) it would just continue to run without the lava damaging it or breaking stuff. I am however not sure if some ModPacks change certain things, but I can confirm that I have used my Drill (1.20) to mine for Netherite. Just be careful, as the lava can still hurt you so AFKing not advised. Let me know how it goes! Happy mining.
I realy like this turorial... just I am using 1.19.2 version of create and if my drill goes it will stop after minit cus it dont have coal anymore, can I automaticly refuel it somehow? Thanks!
I will have to look into this as well. Because mine does the same. A other option could be to use normal carts, with powered rails and just some redstone blocks with it.
Hey bro! I have small problem. I made this machine, and it works PERFECTLY, but I used it in the nether. And some random gravel fall inside my machine and it broke cart with furnance and whole machine flies without it and I cannot interact with it in any way. Is there a way to actually turn this machine into normal state again? Such a weird case...
Morning Harikuu, So if I read this correctly, then the machine is still working, the Minecart just basically lost its texture? On a side note. If you want to stop the contraption and turn it back into its original Block state. Then just put a Cart Assembler on the track in front of the Minecart. Hope this helps.
Hmmm mine runs out of steam, thinking about adding also a extra power rail + a hand that puts down torches and and extra ploug to pick up redstone torches. how do you keep yours going ??
Hey! So if you are looking into this method I would recommend rather doing Redstone Blocks and a drill to mine them. Reason being that if you go through a water cave or lava pit, then the torches will get destroyed, thus leaving your track without power. Mine Keeps going due to Furnace Minecart which I refuel when I see it going slower, as I tend to run along with the machine and light up caves and mine stray ore. Hope this helps!
hey i love this build, Could you please explain to me how the chutes would work? I think you are saying with the chutes you would not have to maually load the chest? and does it keep using the rails over and over again? so no need to add extra rails? Help, I am building now. and yes, gluing is the tricky part thnx
Hey TedKreeger, Sorry for the late reply, but I was away for the weekend. So the Rails will be re-used over and over again as long as they stay in the Contraption Storage. However, if you do choose to create a offloading station with Chutes. Then you will have to look into adding Smart Chutes rather and Blacklisting Rails, or they will also get removed from the contraption. So Basically you will then do a Docking Station at base, where you store the Miner when you are not using it. So when you un-power the assembler and turn it into blocks again, then it will just instantly offload items into your Storage System. I hope that at least help a little bit.
I made this design in 1.18.2 and for some reason it works fine for the first few layers of blocks but then it doesnt mine the blocks, leaves walls that the minecart cant pass and starts skipping every other rail placement. It seems the contraption is almost moving too fast for the deployers to keep up. (edit - I just tried the drill design in a different modpack and it works, it seems that the drill mines too fast in all of fabric 5 does anyone know how to slow them down)
Hey Hypnosisottis, SO you were using the machine in a ATM Modpack. interesting that they made the drills faster. I am not sure if there is a way to slow them down as they might have changed settings in the MOD Config files. What if you extend the back part (The Tail) of the machine. Instead of having the deployer so close to the front maybe push it back a bit (But still in front of the minecart) and maybe add a second deployer to place rails on the skipped blocks? Almost like a backup system? That could work I think Sorry for the late reply. IRL sometimes gets the best of a person. Please let me know if that works.
This has been my issue as well. My design places a wall of deepslate in front that (in theory) is then instantly mined, in order to clear out lava/water. Additionally it places a ceiling to prevent falling liquids, and drills out a 1 block trench on the edges to catch any liquids from the side. However it only gets about 3 blocks into a wall and then "bounces back" almost. I've tried adjusting the drill heads more forward of the minecart and checked it for extra glue, no luck. Really frustrating.
Xyro, I am so sorry. I should have just said that in the video. I hope the machine made up for that wasted 1hour and that you gained a TON of resources! I appreciate your comment.
Great design! Any idea on how to flip the orientation of the contraption? I made my drill facing East but when I pick up the contraption and try to set it another direction (west), It always gets placed facing East instead.
Hey Tbar, SO this is something that never seemed to be a problem for me, but on my latest Create series I got the same problem going. Have to maybe sit down and read up a bit and get back to you on this one. As it is currently a mystery for me too.
i want to make something like this in a world i have, but a conundrum im having is that i also want the machine to either stop eventually or move backwards once its inventory is full, though im unsure if thats possible
Hey notaclass, So the first thing that will need to happen is the Plough removing the rails would need to be removed, because you would want to send the machine back. That is a easy fix (However going to need a lot more rails because you are not recycling them anymore). As for the "Return" system. Not sure if there is a way to use the Inventory count block to detect when the chest is full and return the cart. Would have to somehow get it to turn 180degrees and head back. I might look into this myself as well. hope my thought here at least sent you somewhat in the right direction.
Hey Polarvortecks, So in my current 1.20 game they seem to still be immune to Lava flowing. I did a test just a week ago while I was gathering Ancient Debris. So I would say you are good to go, unless they patched it out.
Im currently on ATM 9 and all the steps ive done are correct but the final step of putting coal into the furnace in a minecart wont add the coal into it?
Hey Inhumanefool, want to do a ATM9 playthrough myself soon, hope it’s going well! That’s weird. Because Furnace Minecart usually activate on right click. Wonder if ATM9 changes some Furnace Minecart mechanics? Will have to look into it.
Hey Dragonicstarblade! Really glad you like the Video/Build. It works pretty nice, but there are some flaw to the machine. Like the placement of torches and not being able to automate it 100%. I really want to revisit this build in the near future. See if I can figure something out.
if i fill the cart with coal BLOCKS when the cart runs out will it pull the coal it mined or will it stop? I'd like to have something i can build, deploy, and come back to later. Does it work outside of chunk load?
@Unsavouryflint sadly all coal goes into the storage chest and not into the furnace itself. I am not sure if we can rig one of the chest to somehow refuel the Cart, coal blocks however do burn long and it will be able to go for a while. As for working in unloaded chunks, sadly no. You can make it AFK-able, but will have to modify the contraption a bit. You would just have to add a seating area for yourself and a way to keep lava and water out of your face. That way it can at least run while you are AFK. Hope this at least answers some questions.
There is a time and place for Strip mining at the start of a world but do believe a person has to upgrade as soon as you can, and this is the best way. Glad you like it!
2d3dr Thank you so much! So what was the first thing you used it for... Mining ores or destroying a village... I meant End Island! 😂 Just happy the tutorial could be of help!
I got it to work first try, placed it down in my mines and now it doesnt work. The thing powers on, but even with direction lock it goes sideways/diagonal, and the minecart just doesnt move even when powered. Its so extremely frustrating as I just spend the past few hours gathering resources (Andesite was super rare for whatever reason) just for it to not work
Hey wpsp2010, When you place it down in the mine. Maybe try power and unpower it just to see if that works? Just remember to lock rotation again when doing this. The one I have in my survival world did this once to me as well, but think it was because I placed it on a chunk border and that's how I fixed it in the end. Please let me know if it works.
@@Deosil25 I figured it out, my mine starts right at the chunk border, the exact spot I was trying to start it at. I got it to work and was even able to upgrade the drill space with the new materials. Thanks for your help.
I have not tried this method yet. That could be something that works. Cause I still just run around like a mad man placing them manually myself XD I will see if I can look into that, as that should be able to work.
Great tutorial! I was using the design and and ran into the drill making the whole thing turn to the side. Is there a way to get rotate it back without remaking the whole drill??
Hey hopedepaoli, Sometimes if you just pick it up with your Wrench and place it down again, it automatically resets. Alternatively make it go into a Cart Assembler again (Unpowered) and it will return to block state. Make sure you LOCK ROTATION on the New Assembler and the activate it again and it should also be fixed. Hope this helps! Happy Mining!
great tutorial i do have an issue i could use a hand with. my chests on the drill arent picking anything up that is mined. any ideas? i tried chests, barrels, and moved them to different areas.
Hey Celebscolder, just a few questions. 1. Did you build it using Andesite Casing blocks? 2. Are you using Create in a Modpack of some sort (Example Vault Hunters, Skyblock or so) 3. How far away is your Storage from the Drills? Not saying these are the problems, but just trying to understand the conditions more. Hope we can solve the problem.
@@Deosil25you can also make on of these to mine netherite by adding deployers all around it
Instructions unclear, ended up mining my house IRL
XD At least you will have a lot of spare pasts now to rebuild IRL.
Something I added to mind was funnels, and I just added the deep slate (since that's what I was mining through) to the filter so it would be ejected and I'd have so much more room for the things I actually wanted
great tutorial, one suggestion tho, make HUD bigger for these videos so its easier to see items

Thank you so much. The OLD Pinned comment got unpinned with newer Videos. So I added your list to the description and left a Special thanks! Happy Mining!
I ironically made my own list while watching the video
Powered rails feels slower overall, to me. Also the movement is less smooth. So personally i prefer the charcoal powered cart.

Annasmith you are so welcome! I am just glad that people find the video helpful! Should share some of you miner designs. Would be interesting to see.

Hey Euromatrixkung, I am glad the tutorial was at least easy to follow and made sense. Looking forward to hearing how it works for you and what you do with this machine. Appreciate the comment.
We bout to create the Minecraft industrial age with this one
But it's too complicated to make, so I'm fine with the way it works right now)
Mumbo's self Building bridge video, with the blue ice and lava was such a cool video!
I just built my 3x3 one from scratch today and I also didn't add the plough, rails could be useful if I wanted to e.g. send chest minecarts back home later on

thank you this worked perfectly! i needed hundreds of cobblestone for a build and it took only a matter of about a minute to get it with this mining machine :D
Yeah the Mining machine can be a BEAST at time, but really helps in getting stuff gathered. I use mine so much in my Create Series.

I think if you're going with the furnace minecart way and not the powered rails' one you can add a deployer (In my contraption I've put it just between the cobble deployer and rail deployer) which feeds coal to the minecart. It appeared to work properly to me as about 10 pieces of coal disappeared from the chest as the contraption started mining
Edit: I was wrong, I've put it below the cobble deployer
That is a nice way to automate the coal feeding. Busy working on my rework and might just borrow this idea and add it to my contraption. Thank you so much. Appreciate it.
Pointed dripstone stopped the contraption (because it couldn't lay down a block on it and the drill didn't hit it because it was below it), but I guess that's not something very common :) Thanks for this explanation
Hey AhDeh, So what I did in my Survival world was extend one drill down so I would pick up the lower block as well, and then just replaced it. But like you mentioned it does not happen that often. Still a pain thou!
Good I built my contraption near an ocean then, dripstone caves don't generate anywhere near it 😄

So I have not found a way to slow down the deployers for torch placing.

It will break if a stream of water or lava wash away the rails. There are improved versions of this mechanism, with protection against this

So this server and Build is for Minecraft 1.18.2 and this machine has been Lava and Water tested and it works 100% and does not flush away. So no worries in regards to that happening at all.
@@Deosil25 water can no longer destroy away rails in new versions of minecraft?

I've seen a few designs with redstone blocks but honestly if I want to mine for shorter sessions this technique with the Furnace Minecart might be the move

Will report back ASAP!
If you encounter any water caves immediately pick up the mine-cart contraption
Hey Paulsampson,
The first time I made this I thought I was going to hate Lava and Water, but strange enough it ran perfect in the Nether and Underwater Caves!

😂😂 Did you remember to LOCK rotation on the Cart Assembler before turning it on and making it a contraption. That is the only possible solution to the problem.
@@Deosil25 I already did but it failed
Thank you very much this is so helpful to use it 👍
I am so much this helped Bud!
Maybe there is a way to make it place some lights too .
Hey Noscopemonkey, so Tango I believe did figure something out in regards to torch placing. So I will see if I can go check it out. Because placing the torches are a downside. Well I do not mind as I mine the ores it misses. But it would be better.
Thank you for the comment.
@@Deosil25 thanks! Maybe I will mine the ores that it misses too
Finding away to make it a little bit faster might be a thing I want to look into
this is nuts
Hey Classlessrook, This machine is insane with the amount of resources it can gather. Now if we can only automate it 100%
Sick tutorial but I think your gui scale should be bumped up a notch or two for the video
Hey Unearthly_Child_
They say you need to improve on every Video you make, and that was the one thing I have improved on for this video. Just a pity I did not realise it while recording this Video.
Might revisit this tutorial with the next Big Create Update.
Thank you for the feedback. Appreciate it.
This is too good and simple ❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you so much! While making this I was hoping to get it explained in the simplest way possible. So anyone can get mining!
Quick question? Why not use a little clock and a deployer to place torches?
I did not think of that. This might be something I look into. Thank you.
As for how I am currently doing it. So the one on the Create SMP is pretty big. But it still misses ores in the floor and roof. So I mine those manually and while I do that I just place torches. 😂 But agree. Not the best use of my time.
great video it help me create my own contraption just a quick note what's the max distance it travels off one coal/charcoal usage as looking to make a massive underground base using this to mine out the space for it
Absolutely loving the create mod
Hey Coffeemiesterable, I am not really sure how far it goes Per Coal, as it depends on the Blocks in its way. Some Blocks take longer to mine than others, also falling gravel can also affect it. Well I am eager to hear how the underground Base turned out!
Would be nice if covers lava and water in the way, but it's already pretty nice
Hello Im_Violet. So this miner can run through Lava and water without stopping. Thinking it would be easy to fit it to cover lava patches, but that will only work if run the machine one level above Lava lakes. Something interesting to look into.
this mod is amazing
Yeah the CreateMOD is one of my favorite mods so far. Can make so many interesting contraptions.
Thank you for your help
Its a pleasure!
Tysm, i loved your video and its so usefull!
I am happy that the Video was of use to you! Enjoy the abundance of resources!
very VERY good tutorial
Mua!
Really happy it helped you out!
@@Deosil25thanks
Thanks
You are welcome.
@@Deosil25 Thanks, I Will Wait until you puplish somethink else that can help. Btw, Nice videos🙃
@@Skaut---002 Thank you so much.
We recently just started Season 3 on ZetaCraft. So will be about a month or so before we get back into Create.
What if you add a deployer with torches or any other light source blocks so you don't have to run along for light.
I do believe Tango built a machine that could place torches, I will have to go see how he did it, because that is a option as well!
Now I can explain to my friend that I didn’t cheat 64 diamond blocks into my chest
Glad this clears your name! 😂 This machine is ridiculous at gathering.

Never mind, this machines works without textures 💀. Idk how is this possible, bruh
Morning Harikuu,
So if I read this correctly, then the machine is still working, the Minecart just basically lost its texture?
On a side note. If you want to stop the contraption and turn it back into its original Block state. Then just put a Cart Assembler on the track in front of the Minecart. Hope this helps.
Hmmm mine runs out of steam, thinking about adding also a extra power rail + a hand that puts down torches and and extra ploug to pick up redstone torches.
how do you keep yours going ??
is it because of the minecart with furance???
Help, I am building now. and yes, gluing is the tricky part
thnx
Hey TedKreeger,
Sorry for the late reply, but I was away for the weekend.
That could work I think
Sorry for the late reply.
What a lekker oke, exactly what I was looking for
Lekker! Glad you liked the tutorial bud. Hope it makes farming go smooth!
I'm so dumb, I spent over an hour trying to figure out how to power the drills! I didn’t realize they would start digging on their own through motion
@@Deosil25 No worries! I've just been using a mechanical bearing with a hand crank to rotate it for now!
try to flip the cart assembly before powering it
Do you have to use andesite casing as the building block? :)
Not at all... You can use another block as well. Happy Building!
i want to make something like this in a world i have, but a conundrum im having is that i also want the machine to either stop eventually or move backwards once its inventory is full, though im unsure if thats possible
I might look into this myself as well. hope my thought here at least sent you somewhat in the right direction.
do minecart contraptions break in lava now? i know they used to be immune but it seems like they removed that. how would you make one thats immune?
Amazing build, I wish there was a way that it can be done without the ENTIRE RIG moving but that's just me......
That was slick. I hate strip mining.
There is a time and place for Strip mining at the start of a world but do believe a person has to upgrade as soon as you can, and this is the best way. Glad you like it!
amazing tutorial
2d3dr Thank you so much! So what was the first thing you used it for... Mining ores or destroying a village... I meant End Island! 😂
Just happy the tutorial could be of help!
@@Deosil25 I used it both for transportation by glue-ing some seats, mining ores making a highway at the same time lol, thx
how did you glued these "gantry" like glue to the contraption ? is that an early state of the mod ?
The Gantry? This machine uses Contraptions and not Gantries. Also this Video was made in the final release of the 1.18.2 Version of Create.
I got it to work first try, placed it down in my mines and now it doesnt work.
The thing powers on, but even with direction lock it goes sideways/diagonal, and the minecart just doesnt move even when powered. Its so extremely frustrating as I just spend the past few hours gathering resources (Andesite was super rare for whatever reason) just for it to not work
Hey wpsp2010,
When you place it down in the mine.
Thanks for your help.
i'm trying to set it up with a sequence gearshift to delay torch placements at the very back but i can't see to really get it. what do you think?
I have not tried this method yet. That could be something that works. Cause I still just run around like a mad man placing them manually myself XD
I will see if I can look into that, as that should be able to work.
@@Deosil25 I'll come back to you if I find out! Much love brother
@@Deosil25 thank you for the reply! Got it fixed! 👍
best drill.
Hey Colorfulalchemy! Yeah I love this Drill and I use it to this day. Might have some Minor Alterations, but still a BEAST of a machine.
great tutorial i do have an issue i could use a hand with. my chests on the drill arent picking anything up that is mined. any ideas? i tried chests, barrels, and moved them to different areas.
Hey Celebscolder, just a few questions.
1. Did you build it using Andesite Casing blocks?
2. Are you using Create in a Modpack of some sort (Example Vault Hunters, Skyblock or so)
3. How far away is your Storage from the Drills?
Not saying these are the problems, but just trying to understand the conditions more. Hope we can solve the problem.
