The best thing about her videos is they give quick results. Great job you are doing there and thank you so much, you are simply amazing. PS: Since I followed your tips I had 3 job offers from 3 different countries.
I am getting into the Marketing field, in which I do not have any experience yet but it does pay well. Around the amount I was targeting. I also tend to do the math per hour since thats the number it shows up at the interview. So far I am having so much fun in my job search thanks your channel. I am so happy I found you!
Thanks for giving some insight into what the hiring manager/ H.R. team is looking for! Good to know there's some room to ask when you've done your research and that 50% and up tip is great!
Imagine going to an auto dealer. After you tell him which car you want he asks, "what amount of monthly payments you can afford." If you low ball he tells you he will only show you lower priced models. If he accepts your monthly payment amount, that becomes the only amount he will accept. The only negotiating is length of term and interest rate. OR, you could shop a dealer who shows sticker prices. Why don't companies include the pay range in the job posting?
What if it's for a remote position? For example, I live in SD but am looking at a remote marketing position based out of PA (which has a much higher salary average for this position). How do I calculate my market worth?
Got my offer on Friday and had a week to sign. On Monday the third party recruiter called me and ambushed me. I wasn’t prepared because I felt like a had time to think. Don’t be like me be prepared and negotiate via email.
Madeline, would you recommend doing a negotiation like this on the phone or via email? There seems to be support for both sides and the strength of speaking over the phone, but I also know that email is great because it puts things in writing and you can stick by the "script" of what you want to say. Thoughts?

thanks for this! I always feel so awkward with this question. But also I totally see what you mean about looking at the worth of the job. I tend to go for jobs that will educate me further in the field I'm interested in, but most importantly one that gives me more free time and work that I don't take home so I can work on my own projects!
I lost my job offer due to salary negotiation. This was my first job after graduation and they offered the salary that I asked for. Wish I wasn't negotiating for salary!
@@SelfMadeMillennial They said the offer is non negotiable and if you accept the offer let us know by the end of the day. I let them know I accepted the offer after 20 minutes of their call and they never reply back. When I sent signed contract paper to them, after a day they said the position has been changed and they are retracting the offer. I was very upset after hearing that because after all interviews and reference check, they offered me the position.

Can we talk about companies who offer a salary range, but won't budge from a REALLY low number in the range they provided? They never offered me an opportunity to talk about salary before making me an offer, and honestly, I felt insulted. They offered me SIX HUNDRED DOLLARS above the minimum salary in the range they provided, and wouldn't even offer me anywhere near halfway, even when I tried negotiating. Also, the manager wouldn't let me negotiate with HR myself. She negotiated on my behalf to HR, which made me uncomfortable as well.
Hello, I'm a fresh graduate. I'm applying for a job in a different country and the application online. They're asking about "Expected Salary" and "Previous Salary". Its my first job so I'm not sure what to put in "Previous Salary"?
I have a question. What if the recruiter is giving you a hard time because of your prior experience. I got an offer but my offer is lower than a friends. He was hired a few years ago. Same recruiter about the same experience.
What if the job is within the same company you currently work at? I have a hiring manager asked my per hour number which i gave. But it does not account for my overtime hours or bonus. I am going to email the manager and let her know that i was severely underpaid for my current role. So i do expect them to pay me more for the role i am applying for as it has a lot of responsibility. Thank you let me know your thoughts
Hi Hina, you mention that your per hour number doesn't account for overtime hours or bonus, so when a manager asks for your per hour number, I would suggest giving the higher number which includes overtime etc, and then explain that the number includes those things, so that the hourly rate you give is an accurate reflection of what you want to earn
@@amricelesteinterviewcoach Thank you so much!!! I wish i knew this but oh well. I just got the offer today which is the same per hour rate as my current and i am already under paid. I I don’t even know if the new department will have any overtime opportunities. I was desperate to get out of this position. I still counter offered and waiting to hear back.
Help help anyone!!! I have a 12 week internship experience in recruiting and I have a SHRM-CP and cannot decide what I should ask for for salary. This is so stressful. I feel like I don’t have experience or enough, but also I have a deep understanding of HR and HR practices. I also have a Bachelor’s degree with an HR concentration. I’m looking for an hr coordinator or recruiting coordinator position in Austin and or Chicago. Any advice for Thai particular situation ?
When applying online for a job, what is a good range salary you should put down. they show a display of a salary range on their application. i have no idea what to put
I just got a job offer from the company that I really like and I already accepted it which was lower rate than what I really wanted (well, I kinda give that range number because I was not ready when they called me on the phone) and I really want to renegotiate now because it's lower than the offer rate that they posted on the website where I submitted my application. I know it was my fault but would it be ok if I still do the negotiation? plus they just did my background check, I hope it still not too late. please help. thanks!!
Let's say you were asked this in your phone screen interview, and you had said a nervous lowball estimate like 50K, and the hr coordinator said the position actually starts from 60K-70K, that doesn't mean that at the offer stage they're going to try to offer me 50K right? I assume if they were planning to lowball me, she wouldn't have told me their actual starting range.
Takeaway from this vid: 1) Damn!, You are gorgeous. Are men really paying attention to what you are saying? 2) A job is more than how much they pay you. 3) You can always negotiate a higher salary.

Depends on the company.

Based your answer on salary research and the steps laid out. Choose the range that most closely matches it
So, it went well but what do you do when they don’t like the way you dress because it’s not “girly” enough?
What kind of job is this?
Self Made Millennial county job. I was well dressed. Button up. Tie. Dress shoes. Dress pants. Nothing baggy.
Hmm sounds like it’s about gender norms and not a dress code thing. It’s up to you if that goes against your values
What if they give you exactly what you asked for should you still negotiate for the sake of it?
If you specifically asked for it I would back off. Though if you are getting offers that are higher then you can bring that up and renegotiate
