2015 Audi A1 Airbag & Steering Issues: Diagnosis, Repair, and Coding | EPC Warning Light Fix!
Welcome to our channel! Today, we're diving into a diagnostic and repair journey with a 2015 Audi A1 that came in with multiple issues: an airbag light on, non-functional horn, and steering control problems. Our suspicion? A faulty clock spring. But before we jump to conclusions, we need to conduct a thorough computer diagnostic to pinpoint the exact issues.
After running the diagnostic, we uncovered a faulty code: B10001B, indicating an issue with the front airbag igniter on the driver's side with resistance too high. To tackle this, we'll need to remove the airbag and steering components, replace the clock spring/squib ring, and reinstall everything before resetting the faulty code. Once completed, the airbag light issue is resolved, but a new warning light surfaces: the EPC light.
Upon plugging back in the computer, we discover the code P164700, suggesting a problem with checking coding or versions of control modules in the drivetrain. Unfortunately, my diagnostic tool isn't equipped to handle this level of coding, so I reach out to a friend for assistance. With their help, we navigate through the coding process and successfully clear the warning lights.

Good to know that you need fancy computers for the codes... Swapped my clock spring and was surprised to have a new steering angle code and the air bag code stayed even though the horn and buttons worked again.
