Older Koreans knew about this for some reason. I met Koreans who have migrated to the US. When they learned that I was from the Philippines, they reminded me of the Korean War in the ‘50s and how Filipinos defended their freedom. They’re very appreciative of the sacrifice that Filipinos made for their country.
@@The3minutes2010 HamburgerHill..its not a Korean war sir..during the Battle of Hamburger Hill, a May 1969 assault during the Vietnam War by the U.S. Army's 3rd Battalion, 187th Infantry, 101st Airborne Division (Airmobile) "Screaming Eagles" on a ridge of Dong Ap Bia (Ap Bia Mountain) near the Laotian border in central Vietnam. The ridge was a well-fortified position, including trenchworks and bunkers, of the North Vietnamese Army. U.S. military records of the battle refer to the mountain as "Hill 937," its map designation having been derived from the high elevation of the hill at 937 meters (3,074 ft).
Capt. Condrado Yap was the most brave and a true leader of the Philippine Army in history. He decline the orders from the US regiment to leave the bodies of his dead comrades but he insist that it his obligations to bring them back to their family dead or alive and unfornately he was shot and die. This man is a true definition of a true leader salute and respect.
To add to this, a surviving soldier said in an interview that it was so hard for them during that time as it was winter in South Korea and Philippines is a tropical island so winter does not exist in our country. They were so cold at that time even their socks gets stuck on their foot and tears the skin when they remove it. I also only knew about this piece of history just recently. I wish they would've included this in history books so people, especially the younger generation would be educated, appreciative of our own nation and not to just take our freedom for granted. Also fun fact: Most of the soldiers that fought in the Battle of Yultong (if not all) wasn't deployed under order. They *volunteered* to help out not because they were ordered to but because they came on their own free will to help SK. And that alone, I'm super proud of.

I know this history I was a kid 👦 cuz May father and my uncle volunteered to fight for Koreans and with God’s Blessings, the comeback alive and sound…. He told us in our family that when they fight the chinese soldiers, the ration is always 10 to 1… 1 filipino soldiers and 10 Chinese soldiers in the battle front, he even told us that there machine gun are overheating in shootings Chinese soldiers and they pee just to machine gun, just be operational again
Many Koreans does not know this and sadly look down at our race. I am not saying all, but some. Thank you for sharing this. Filipinos even before are welcoming and a supportive race. this is a very good part of history between Philippines and Korea...my grandfather was also sent there in the Korean war and from his stories I could feel the hardships of the Koreans during the war and after...many of them suffered so much just like any war that occurred in the world...he already passed away but he got to see the developments of Korea much faster than how my country progresses all throughout these years...I sometimes feel sad when some young Koreans are being interviewed in some videos about WHAT THEY KNOW ABOUT THE PHILIPPINES... their answers varies a lot...some will say...I DONT KNOW ABOUT PHILIPPINES...A COUNTRY WITH BEAUTIFUL BEACH RESORTS...A GOOD VACATION DESTINATION...A CHEAP WAY TO LEARN ESL BECAUSE THE SALARY OF THE TEACHERS IS VERY CHEAP...A LOT OF WOMEN WANTS TO GO OUT WITH YOU BECAUSE YOU ARE A FOREIGNER...NOT SAFE BECAUSE OF SOME ILLEGAL ACTIVITIES...VERY POOR COUNTRY...VERY HOT AND HUMID TROPICAL COUNTRY...and so on and so forth...there was one video that showed a high school Korean boy who spit and tore the Philippine flag because of an issue that he did not like after watching a video...these were some of the answers that I watched in some interviews about my country... I feel really sad about this...though some Koreans are also well-mannered when they arrived here but some thinks we are inferior to them simply because they are more developed economically...sometimes RESPECT can be determined by the AMOUNT OF MONEY YOU HAVE IN YOUR POCKET...it's very hard to make them realize what my ancestors did to help liberate their country from the communist rule...without those very important events in the KOREAN WAR...there is NO SOUTH KOREA NOW...but for those who acknowledge and appreciate it my deepest gratitude to them for doing so...May GOD bless you all in your endeavors in spreading the most important part of OUR HISTORY...

Filipinos have this innate bravery, resiliency and hope that I think is very apparent during rough times. We have lots of OFWs who would do anything to provide for their families even if it meant they have to sacrifice their own welfare. We experience natural disasters sometimes even back to back but you will still see smiles on their faces despite wrecked homes and ruined livelihood. Whatever we set our hearts in, we fight for it til the end. We may be the little brown friend, but we are the friend you would want to be at your side in tough times 😊

just to correct Spain, the US, and Japan all colonized the Philippines at one point. Spain first settled in the Philippines in the 16th century. It would go on to colonize the country for more than 330 years, although the BRITISH briefly occupied Manila for 18 months from 1762 to 1764.

this is a very good part of history between Philippines and Korea...my grandfather was also sent there in the Korean war and from his stories I could feel the hardships of the Koreans during the war and after...many of them suffered so much just like any war that occurred in the world...he already passed away but he got to see the developments of Korea much faster than how my country progresses all throughout these years...I sometimes feel sad when some young Koreans are being interviewed in some videos about WHAT THEY KNOW ABOUT THE PHILIPPINES... their answers varies a lot...some will say...I DONT KNOW ABOUT PHILIPPINES...A COUNTRY WITH BEAUTIFUL BEACH RESORTS...A GOOD VACATION DESTINATION...A CHEAP WAY TO LEARN ESL BECAUSE THE SALARY OF THE TEACHERS IS VERY CHEAP...A LOT OF WOMEN WANTS TO GO OUT WITH YOU BECAUSE YOU ARE A FOREIGNER...NOT SAFE BECAUSE OF SOME ILLEGAL ACTIVITIES...VERY POOR COUNTRY...VERY HOT AND HUMID TROPICAL COUNTRY...and so on and so forth...there was one video that showed a high school Korean boy who spit and tore the Philippine flag because of an issue that he did not like after watching a video...these were some of the answers that I watched in some interviews about my country...
Proud to be a Filipino. No wonder Koreans enjoy being an exchange Students to the PHILIPPINES to learn English for at least a year or more.. A lot of Koreans have Business in the PHILIPPINES. Likewise Korean Missionaries 🇵🇭❤️ 🇭🇳..

Thank you for honoring and remembering the heroism and bravery of our great soldier in Korean war.
Filipinos are warm friendly and hospitable people to foreigners, but they are also freedom loving people and they hate tyranny and oppression.
When the situations like this call for them to respond in order to aid their Ally, they are one of the most badass and cold-hearted warriors you will ever see.
And I hope that A LOT OF KOREANS will know about this in order for them to have a change of view for us , Filipinos. They should know the sacrifices that our Filipino ancestors did for SOKOR.

despite those sacrifices of my fellow Filipinos during Korean war for their liberty, some Filipinos in south Korea have been bullied and not treated humanely of some Koreans. hope this reminds to them that they should be grateful to Filipinos.

Thank you for remembering our braved soldiers!because ath that time they are freezing to death because of the cold weather.they want to help and sacrifice their lives so that the Seoul korea has remain and now a progressive country.
My father, PFC. Juanito Estrella was a member of 20th Bct. Expeditionary Forces to Korea. Under the command of then Lt. Fidel V. Ramos.
salamat din south korea sa relasyon natin ngaun bilang isang bansa na my pagmamahal.. love all..
You do what you can ..dont have to be filipino to be like that

Thank you Handa Studio for your contents (🇵🇭). I hope this history will be taken up or just be mentioned briefly in the school.🫰
That's why in Philippines History subjects is a must to learn in the school and some we learned from our ancestors....that made us very aware of our history and I hope the other countries should practice this also to prevent misunderstanding, racist and ignorance. Tho the Philippines is now the most diverse country having many different dialects and tradition cos we've been colonized by Spaniards, Americans, Chinese and others but we're still faithful to our origin. I hope more Koreans will be educated about this matter cos I admire Korea, I'm a big fan of kpop💜. thank u so much for this reaction video❤️
you mean japanese not a chinese?
just to correct Spain, the US, and Japan all colonized the Philippines at one point. Spain first settled in the Philippines in the 16th century. It would go on to colonize the country for more than 330 years, although the BRITISH briefly occupied Manila for 18 months from 1762 to 1764.
Basta isa lang masasabi ko ang ganda nitong koriana nato🥰
Youre always welcome proud Filipino..🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰 peace for all🥰🥰🥰
You guys are good young people, a good role model, keep up the good works and remember that we are brothers. The past is past and we no longer hold on to that ĺcold war mentality" .we don't live in the past, we live today hoping for a beautiful future.. God bless!

Given the weather conditions during the war. They said it was cold during winter. And Filipinos are not used to winter. One of the General who fought in the Korean war became President of the Philippines.
Who?
Former President Fidel V. Ramos. From Wikipedia - "Ramos was a member of the Philippines' 20th Battalion Combat Team of the Philippine Expeditionary Forces to Korea (PEFTOK) that fought in the Korean War. He was an Infantry Reconnaissance Platoon Leader."
