This game is amazing, i love it so much this might be my favorite F1 game.
Unlike the PS2 game this was developed by Studio 33 and it is just as good in my opinion as the PS2 version.
However there is a problem called Hakkinen ever race at the end of the race he turns into GOD and does unbelievably good lap times.

Used to spend countless hours racing my dad on this game, never beat him. Wish he was still around so I could have the chance again.
I can't believe I played this wonderful game like an idiot back in my childhood. A very detailed and "professional" looking.

Joguei muito ele. Foi o jogo de Formula 1 que eu mais joguei na minha vida. O foda era essa sensação que o carro estava flutuando sobre a pista
O Fórmula 1 1999 World Grand Prix tem a camera onboard bem melhor
When i played this game i had a hard time braking with the square button on ps1 and so i figured to use the orange button which was reverse and made cornering easier and smoother

I played this game a lot during my childhood.
The game had rookies with drivers' helmets of previous seasons.
Therefore Juan Montoya for example had Jenson's helmet.
Was such a disappointment for me being a massive JPM fan since F3000 days. I was super excited to have him in one of my first f1 games, cause till then I had only f1 1997 for N64 and f1 2000 for PSX, but unfortunately he hadn't his helmet :/
Agree with Hakkinen's performances. I still remember I usually did some 1:25 in Melbourne while opponents had a pace around 1:26-27, then he marked some 1:22. No sense at all.

F1 97 was very successful, okay?
I have had it. Obviously there were some minor graphics issues, but the developers paid more attention to gameplay and handling dynamics, especially with atmospheric conditions.
So, the result was a game, not perfect, but wonderfull. An infinite longevity, I never got tired of playing.
In 1998, f1 98 wasn't the same. F1 98 was utter crap. The developers changed everything: graphics engine, dynamics, etc ... and it was never understood why... and, quite rightly, it was a huge sales flop.
Now, the question is: after f1 98 flop, why, in all subsequent versions (up to this 2001, I don't know about the others), the developers continued with this shitty graphics dynamic, instead of returning back to the f1 97 system?
Cos the shitty newer one was actually easier to look at, and had better damsge modelling capabilities.

Back in the day this game worked only on epsxe emulator don't know what is going on now but i know that pcsxr can't run this game.
So no epsxe doesn't support pgxp so no pgxp in this video

Very bad, so much time spent in menus and not playing the game
Well the menus are nostalgia trip the music the cars the drivers that is amazing, plus if you are interesting i'm uploading the full season two races to go.
