FOUR weeks without using my hot tub? And what's this, "Before you start it up in the spring" nonsense? We go out in sub freezing temperatures in the winter to use ours!! I guess if you really don't use the hot tub much anyway, waiting 3-4 weeks for the vinegar to work is a great idea, but we USE ours all of the time.
THIS VIDEO WORKS. I swear by it. Been doing this for going on 2 years! After 4 months of use, stop adding chemicals and stop; using it. 3-4 days later, add your 6 gallons of vinegar and let it sit for 4 weeks. In May, I let it sit for up to 8 weeks. Then I drain and power wash. I live in NC. I never let my tub sit in summer without water. Not a good idea because mold and mildew can still get into lines and pipes even though it is drained. THIS VIDEO IS WAY TO DO IT! It is tough to be without tub while this self cleans especially in colder months, but it is a necessity to ensure a clean tub. You will be surprised what your tub looks like after a vinegar soak.
I use my hot tub for months without adding any chemicals. Somehow the levels stay good and when I use a Oh Yuk Healthy Hot Tub Cleaner for this deep clean process I dont have any gunk....weird I know...
Bought one used , and dirty just a two person so should i fill with two jugs of vingear and let sit for two weeks and stay warm and run jets some time rite ? , glad he helped and explained because the answers were vague
I'm on very hard well water. Ph 10.2!!!... in addition to the vinegar try running a sump into a bucket (withholds drilled on the bottom) full of synthetic pillow fluff. (Just cut open a 2 dollar pillow from wall mart) my water goes from deep rust brown to crystal clear in 14 hours. The minerals and rust just cling to these synthetic fibers (as well as slime) like nothing else!
Do leave your filter in the Strong Spa when doing your vinegar cleanse? I have a used Strong Spa similar to yours. I wanted to know if you leave your filter in the spa durning the cleaning process.
This is great!!!!!. I let mine run for just a week (too many other projects going on) it was clear when I put the 5 gallons in, green a week later and filters were big time slime. I will do it again at the end of the summer for longer. Lot of calcium buildup that is gone. I am sure leaving it in longer will get it cleaner
3-4 weeks? That's to long for me but great idea. I can get 4 purges from a bottle of ohyuk for $17. But I can't wait 4 weeks to use my tub in between cleaning.
@BlueStar What if you purchased a property that has a spa or tub that was not maintained? This video is helpful for cleaning up someone else’s neglect.
Must see? It would be helpful if you went through the steps over time. Clarification would have been nice. I know you meant well, it just wasn't presented in a useful format. I am trying to figure this out from scratch. Thanks for the tip... vinegar. That was pretty nasty. I'd like to see how it cleaned up. Take care and stay safe!, M-
Thanks for video- i really needed to know if you have jets on during cleaning process so thank you for answering that- I thought you answered all questions needed for properly cleaning hot tub- Great video!
How do you know that the acid in the vinegar is not affecting your tubing connections which may eventually cause leaks or other component failures? This makes me a little nervous.
this is excessive - find a way to use the tub during the cold winter months that's the best time for using it just drain fill and use your chemicals to keep water clean
looks to me like u must just put water in it and never maintain the water when using it?ive nver seen water like this and would never get in a tub that had this kind of water in it,lol .my 2 cents complete garbage

i run mine all year, and every three months I empty it and use a spray bottle with diluted muriatic acid easy as hell and takes 15 min after its empty
Very good point about vinegar. On my sage coffee machine the engineer claimed it was to aggressive. Probably damaging seals

Rebecca does the ohyuk give you similar results as the vinegar did in this video? I can’t wait 3-4 weeks to clean the tub.
@@webcrawler3332 4 uses per bottle 290 gallon tub. But recently read its ok to use dishwasher detergent so I may try that next.
How much vinegar per gallon of water? I have a swim spa with calcium deposits. Mine is 1100 gallons of water
U left the vinegar in it for a month?
Love the accent... where are you from?
How aboot not letting your hot tub water get that nasty?????
This video literally makes me feel sick.
Dayyum how do you get rid of the smell 👃??!!! Lol that 😂 killed me
When you have hard water that’s hard to avoid especially since
It’s not hooked to a water softener line. They are probably doing a yearly cleaning.
@@emilymcdonald6899 They can and should change the water several times per year

Thank you for sharing - and be sure to thank her as well. Very useful and something we are going to do right now on ours. Much appreciated!

My thoughts exactly 👍

Great video!
Yeah... I Don't think I'll be taking advice from you. That's nasty af, should never have gotten that bad..
How do you know that the acid in the vinegar is not affecting your tubing connections which may eventually cause leaks or other component failures? This makes me a little nervous.
its not straight vinegar...
Recommend lime cleaner ?
Vinegar yes....Turning on the jets with minimal water, not a good idea.
Do u leave the ozone generator on while the vinegar does it thing
How would you repair the finish on the sears of the jacuzzi it feels like your sitting on sandpaper I think the finish is gone from all the chemicals
That's just calcium build up. The vinegar removes it without scrubbing. Only took 24 hours. It's crazy to see them do it for 4 weeks. Not necessary
pressure washer helps
I use my HT almost everyday ALL YEAR - ummm, yah no
Don’t know how good vinegar is for the motor.
That water was filthy... feels like one of those prank videos, but I don’t think it is :/
Oh thank you so much very informative
I like your video - will vinegar clean salt water stain out too?
Yes
You’re putting your hand in biofilm ... that’s goddamn disgusting woman daaaaayyum
Stupidest thing I’ve ever seen. Can’t use your tub for a month. Dump some vinegar and give it a scrub then drain it, add new water. Done in one day.
did you do anything to maintain the ph of the tub?
She says yes in the video that you still add your regular chemicals
I'm guessing the (car wash ) is a pressure washer lol ....
I was thinking the same! Lol
this is excessive - find a way to use the tub during the cold winter months that's the best time for using it just drain fill and use your chemicals to keep water clean
My Hot Tub has NEVER looked like that... good god ewwww!
Maybe they are swingers, lol

Effective
This looks more like a video about how to fill your tub with slime and mold.
Thank you!
Not a lot of good instruction.🤔
