      If you still got the tub, please try filling it up and using Vanish Oxi Action powder.
      Try putting like 3 or 4 packs of it in it and running the tub for an hour and a half or even 2.
      Afterwords when u drain it and refill put some strong coffee machine decal tabs inside. Or 6 bottles of the strongest limestone remover spray you have and repeat.
      After that clean it and run it again with pool chlorine in very high doses, and leave it over nigh filled but without the jets running. Then run them for half an hour the next morning and drain and clean.
      Don’t scrub the mold just do this with the chemicals, I am wondering if that all would remove the mold on its own.
      I scraped my old tub because of that and got one without the jets. But now im wondering about a garden hot tub, but don’t know if it will have the same problems.
      Hope you make another video and show us how its going.

    This is a very good video. Using a vinegar solution was good to help dissolve hard water deposits, but a second step was needed to get the black mold off. Unless the jets have gaskets or O-rings that are damageable, I would thoroughly rinse the jets after soaking in vinegar and then soak them in a separate bucket with water and laundry bleach. The bleach is corrosive and will dissolve or loosen the black mold. Then rinse thoroughly after cleaning. We use bleach with paper towels soaked with bleach on our white grout lines in our shower to get rid of the black mold. It takes a some of application time, but the white grout lines come out looking like new. It should work the same on the jets.

    I'm so glad I found your video. I have an older jetted tub in the house that I rent, I use Oh Yuck which is incredible for cleaning out the pipes but beware, you need extremely good ventilation and you'll probably want to leave the bathroom and close the door for a while while the jets run because even with my exhaust fan on the chemicals are still intense. But the Jets are still gross and I wasn't aware you could take them out. My Jets and drain looks similar to yours so I'm hoping to remove them and clean them like you did. Thank you for such a detailed video! I hope you were able to try oh yuck to clean the pipes. It loosens up so much more old mold than vinegar does. You'll actually see your whole system is clean but it probably took 10 cycles before that happened. It just depends how long the pipes have been sitting with old water in them.

    I notice you used Soft Scrub with bleach but later in cleaning the tub/running jets you say to avoid bleach. Shouldn't you also avoid the bleach in the version of Soft Scrub that you use?

    • @reallifewithali

      You’re right! I didn’t think about that. I guess I meant not to run bleach watcher through the jets. I did rinse all the soft scrub before running the jets.

      Someone else just commented the same thing. I did more research and read Oh Yuk worked well and that you might need to run the jets for a longer time. Even up to an hour. Do it over and over until no more mold comes out. There was another product called Ahh-Some, I think. Here are the links: amzn.to/3whckoR amzn.to/3UJy5qA

    IF there is mildew in your jets, it's all throughout the piping as well....even if you don't see any floating in the water. Seems you are happy enough getting what you can see, but it's still not 'clean'.

    I have done everything in this video and I still get small amounts of black flakes even though it has decreased. It seems like once I turn on these jets, it will always come out. It’s so annoying and I don’t know what else to do. Cleaned the jet covers and took them out twice now and they are spotless and the water filter. So the black flakes have to be coming from somewhere I’m not cleaning. Can anyone help me???

    • @reallifewithali
      @reallifewithali  6 месяцев назад

      Darn! I’m not an expert, but I do have some other ideas. From researching, Oh Yuck cleaner or Ahh!some cleaner both work really well. It sounds like you need to let it run for a long time. Even up to an hour. If you still see flakes, do it again. Do it until you don’t see them anymore. I think I’ll give those cleaners a try next time, too. I hope this helps! I left the links to the products if you want to check them out.

    Your tub and jets look great but that yellow intake cover is a bummer. Google jets or whirlpool replacement parts, find your tub brand and get a white cover. Not expensive and your tub will look new.
