I've never looked into the meaning behind the music video, but I always saw Siobhan's character as being an angel of death coming to take the man away when he dies. The woman singing to him is his lover and she's begging him to stay- to not give up because she needs him.
I hear about Siobhan drinking so much whilst she was waiting to film her part. Definitely can tell 😂😂

My sisters and I used to act out the performances in the video when the song would come out back when we were kids, this is an easily forgotten classic from the early 90s the vocals were so ethereal thanks for covering this track

This song topped the UK Singles Chart!!! Lyrics are about a dieing man. Her lover is near the death bed pleading with him to hang on. Meanwhile the Angel of Death (probably Satan) comes to claim the body. But she remains attached to the soul of her dieing lover so that he "stays" with her instead of giving up and be taken away. This is a brilliant song.
I was waiting for that high note to hit and your reactions were perfect 😆 I remember being obsessed with this song when it came out back in 1992, I was 7. I still find it incredibly haunting and mesmerizing all these years later, I'm fairly certain that effect will never wear off!

Been waiting for someone to react to this song. An international group, Marcella Detroit, representing Detroit. And Siobhan Fahey, representing Ireland and England. The whole album is effin' awesome. They actually called it "Hormonally Yours", because both of them were pregnant when they recorded it.
I like these videos. I wish I could hear this song for the first time again. It blew me away. It still does, but that first time left me stunned. Absolute masterpiece.

BRILLIANT song. Still have the CD single. They reunited recently. Also, Don't know if you've ever heard of Bananarama, but the 2nd girl in the video was part of Bananarama before joining Shakespeare's Sister.
