The animosity between Tutsis and Hutus existed long before the French. The French and the Belgium made it easier with their policies of favoring Tutsis over Hutus.

To read her story and know that it happened in a time where things like this could have been stopped by the so called peace keepers (UN) and that they left and never really looked back was disheartening. I read her story and I’m amazed hat how loving her heart is and how strong her mind was and still is. Not to say she didn’t have things to deal with after all this, but that she didn’t let the evil of this world break her is amazing.

Listen man, if that's the way you think Rwanda will never get anywhere because such things will always happen. I was born in Rwanda, grew up there, and I was there throughout the war, what I saw is something I never ever wanna see again and it is time people come together and make our nation better. Please don't try to take revenge because you won't gain from it at all. God bless

Everyone who commented in a hateful way: You watched this video so you saw Immaculee say how important forgiveness is. She let go of her anger and turned to love and forgiveness and she's a better person for it. The whole world would be a better place if we all offered forgiveness.

I agree Ministerh. Both of her books are "Must Reads". They are powerful and inspiring at the same time. This was an horrific thing these people had to endure and it shows what's priority to certain governments and what is not. These people could have been saved if money wasn't on the mind of the governmentS. As you read the books and watch the movies "Hotel Rwanda" and "Sometimes in April" you will constantly ask yourself, "What was I doing in 1994"?

Just because you forgive doesn't mean they care or won't do it again. Jesus saved this woman for sure. The beauty in her heart to forgive is incredible. However, it is up to God to decide if murderers are forgiven, but, it is the duty of a believer to love others and also protect others

We are never free until we forgive. God has forgiven us much. We are we to not forgive? This woman's faith is so much greater than mine. Thank you Lord for your forgiveness through Your Son Jesus.

I have respect for people who respect me. I posted a comment here not referring to anyone or replying to anyone. If this person is going to come here and try to act out, I am not going to take it. To start off, my comment was not offensive and this person who is uneducated comes and says stupid things I cannot just let that go! I am over it now and I do not care any more, but I had to respond. Thanks for your advice for I care a lot about the Unification of Africa as Nkrumah and Lumumba. Peace!

Kagame may be an imperfect instrument but if it wasn't for his leadership many more people would have died in the genocide and he truly has been a positive bridge in starting to heal the country of Rwanda- and he didn't down the plane the Hutu extremists downed it and used it as a cover to start the genocide since their hatred prevented them from ever working with the Tutsi's. Immaculee is truly a heroic person which the foundation of is her Catholic faith. Check it out- in her books.

You must read her book "THE BOY WHO MET JESUS" It is about a boy in her country who had apparitions of Jesus. Jesus told him that this genocide was coming. He also answered many of this boys questions. Questions we all have. Beautiful! I have given many copies away.
