Lego Star Wars AT-AT Attack (Stop Motion)

- In this video a fierce AT-AT walker attacks the rebels hiding on Echo Base.
🎥 PRODUCTION STORY 🎥
I wanted to make an animation with an AT-AT microfighter I got as a gift.
I modified the legs to be taller and have another point of articulation so it could walk easier.
That being said it was pretty difficult to animate a four legged beast because it was tough to make it look like it was walking especially since AT-AT's walk with both their left legs and then both their right legs instead of alternating.
I have so much more respect for Phil Tippet and the other stop motion animators who worked on the real AT-AT's on Empire Strikes back because man this was tough.
It was tough for me to get use to and I am a little underwhelmed with how the walking came out, but my work with blue screens for the snow speeders and lasers turned out great!
I actually used a bright blue shirt for my blue screen and as funny as that is it worked great. I actually had to redo animating against the "blue screen" because at first there were too many shadows that was messeing up the keying.
I animated the walking in one night (at 15 FPS), the snow speeders in an afternoon and edited over 2 days. Overall this took me four days from start to finish but if I was nonstop working I could have it done in maybe a day or two.
Overall I am happy with how this turned out and glad I could upload before the Holidays. Let me know what you thought of this short but cool stop motion.
