His encounter theme is also happier, again showing the change he went through. He just seems happier in this game now that Ghetsis isn’t really controlling him like a puppet on a string. I like that.

This cool sort of pixel-based puppet animation is so dang delightful. I remember being downright shocked when I saw that EVERY SINGLE POKEMON was animated, truly felt like the future. I hope that everybody who worked so hard on Gen 5 finds out that their work has become the fan-favorite cornerstone of the series. Special mentions to the Jugglers and Burgh.

The 5th generation of Pokemon is probably the most ambitious generation in the entire franchise, and I'm so sad that it wasn't admired for that when it was released. I hope the remake, if any, will live up to the ambition of the developers and artists who created the original game.
I hope it doesn't have to be remade, at least considering the outcry towards BDSP removing quality-of-life features introduced within its own generation, not counting post-G4 updates. Even one of the bugged abilities in DP was brought back.

I mean, how often can you travel to this big metropolitan city by walking through a massive bridge or have your character star in movies in a pokemon game? I love the Unova games, they're so detailed, so much lore and backstory, awesome characters and the story is easily the best in the franchise. Edit: Scarlet and Violet may have optimization problems, but i loved the story, i got Violet and made me like Miraidon so much, it is probably the sweetest robotic bike lizard with emotions ever, the story was so good, my second favorite now after Black/White of course.
I actually agree that SV is the first time in many many years I've actually enjoyed a Pokemon game. SwSh was half-baked and XY barely qualified as fun, with no memorable rivals.

I've been noticing for a while now that Pokemon Black and White have been getting some love recently for the past few years now. Not like how they were treated about a decade ago when the first Black and White games came out and people used to talk shit about them all the time, and also because, in gamefreak's case, they sold the least. You know what they say, "It's the small things you gotta appreciate the most." , or, "You won't start appreciating something until it's finally gone."

Those battles were more so pvp battles, since there was a time I was able to battle my friend who had a copy of White 2 with my copy of Black 1(I don't think Nate nor Rosa have any unique sprites from the pov of someone playing the oroginal bw games)
I find it funny how this was the only Pokémon game on the DS that had 3D battle arenas and could make whatever set pieces they wanted to battle on and they exclusively used that ability for pokestar studios
No one really mentioned that those sound effects of poke balls and pressing buttons are exactly accurate. You must have been found a way to erase the normal games's background music and only kept the sound effects. Super appreciate.

the pokestar studios definitely was a unqiue one. most of the irregular trainer sprites and Pokémon sprites felt great and honestly a bit spooky at times. you can also tell how much they push the capabilities of it too. which it was much more bigger because it could've been even more fun. I wish they brought back sprite themed games because having things like this gives it a good charm.
You can tell there was so much love put into these games and that’s what stuck with me since their release; Trainer animations, lots of Pokémon to choose from and raise, and the sheer amount of side content (the Medals, Pokestar Studios, Join Avenue, Musicals, the battle facilities).

I know what you mean, but it's the opposite. The people complaining about recent games most likely played gen 5, and gen 4, and all the gens before that. You have to truly care about the franchise to wish the best for it. Meanwhile, those who only started playing since gen 6+ sadly never got to experience how good gen 5 was, which is why they happily accept the garbage we now get. Their standards are already low.

Same. I had Black (first pokemon game) for my birthday and Black 2 for christmas. Gen 5 will always be very nostalgic for me.
Fun fact: everybody is important trainers because they help you leveling up your pokemon just by battling them and they give you their life savings when you defeated them

I’m almost convinced that half of all people complaining about the current games skipped out on gen 5 because the graphics or the Pokédex or something stupid, never knowing that Pokémon had started moving in such a fantastic direction😂

I know what you mean, but it's the opposite. The people complaining about recent games most likely played gen 5, and gen 4, and all the gens before that. You have to truly care about the franchise to wish the best for it. Meanwhile, those who only started playing since gen 6+ sadly never got to experience how good gen 5 was, which is why they happily accept the garbage we now get. Their standards are already low.
@@catscanhavelittleasalami that is probably a more correct assumption. I was going mostly off of the sales numbers for gen 5 which were abysmal compared to all the games that followed

Black & White 2 is simply the Final Hurrah of Pokemon 2D Era.
I love the detail of the protagonists waiting for you to send out your pokemon, since they or you send them out right after the opponent does.
I like how the gen 1 gym leaders pretty much stayed the same as their hgss counterparts
What I loved about this region were all the different trainers and environments. It perfectly reflected on America
