It goes without saying, but I am truly grateful to all of you for taking the time to watch this series 🙏 I hope you've enjoyed watching as much as I enjoyed making it! There will be plenty more series like this coming to the channel :) this is the kind of stuff I live for. In the meantime, if you have any questions about this series, please feel free to leave them here in the comments. I may do a Q&A video if I get enough to make it worthwhile. Cheers!
Do or did you have any Problems finding friends in Lombok as someone only speaking english? Are people open to foreigners moving there and Not only travelling there?
I think you could do an entire video just on the logistics of how you got the footage. A lot of these shots are pretty tough to do by yourself, let alone while riding a bicycle. Would be amazing to know how all that went down. Also would be curious to know what were some of the toughest spots (that didn't make it on the camera) where filming, cycling, or other logistics went wrong, and what you did to overcome them, and also things that happened that surprised you (positive or otherwise) that didn't make the final cut of the film. Well done, Josh. This was a great series.
Josh set out on a journey, With his trusty bike by his side, Through the streets of Lombok, He pedaled with pride. The island's beauty was breathtaking, With lush green hills and crystal blue sea, He rode on, feeling free. He passed by villages and rice fields, And met friendly locals along the way, They shared stories and meals, Making his journey more gay. The sun was hot, but the breeze was cool, As he climbed each steep incline, He pushed on, feeling strong, For this was his dream and his design. With each mile, he felt alive, As he explored this land anew, His cycle tour of Lombok, A memory he'll always treasure and pursue.
"I can smell you from here" should probably be the title of the last episode.... You can now burn your cycling clothes. At least your wife still hugged you ..that's seriously deep love after 6 days of cycling! The final video delivered .... You are on the money with your description of Lombok being so diverse.... Last episode it looked like the place would go up in flames if you dropped a match it was so dry. This episode the hills were green again until the desert beach. So random all that is within 100km of each other. And that road was really beautiful....not as dramatic as the great Ocean road or Amalfi coast but the beaches below and the rainforest really make it stand out. Congratulations on over 400km with 30-40kg of weight...it's like you cycled with a child attached. I really hope you do more episodes on Lombok. It's somewhere I had no interest in visiting until your epic video on why you should visit Lombok not Bali. This just added to it. And the irony of choosing a destination where cycling is the only form of transport ....you really love torture hey! Thanks again
Cheers David! Have appreciate you taking the time to watch every episode and leaving such nice feedback throughout 🙏 In hindsight, I absolutely should've burned those cycling clothes haha - they were truly dangerous, I reckon. Hi Josh, great videos. I really admire the amount of kit you hauled around the island for our viewing benefit. I actually popped over to Lombok on a whim from Bali on my bicycle over New Year's. Rode down to Kuta, then up to Senggigi before returning back to Bali via Lembar. I had no plan whatsoever and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of roads and lack of traffic compared to Bali. @@stephenadams1940 very nice! Sounds like you are checking off all the main areas :) yes Senggigi is a little different. If you count the Happy Cafe as the center of the town, you can work it out from there. I would suggest Mangsit just down the coast - there are some really nice, fancy hotels there and it's only a 5 minute drive. For budget-friendly options there are plenty around Senggigi. Hri yg sngt meyenangkn
Nice trip Bro! Keep on pushing :) I'm also bike traveller, but in Europe. Hopefully someday I'll also try doing same route in Lombok. Cheers
Thank you man, I really appreciate it :) you should 100% come and cycle here in Indonesia, there are so many incredible places to cycle and such varied landscapes. It's got everything!
Cant get enough of your videos really. Looking forward for a new series. Sumbawa maybe?? A lot to see over there
Thanks so much! I really appreciate that :) I have PLENTY more ideas about to go next. Sumbawa would be awesome, for sure. Now that I've done this first trip it really feels like the world is my oyster.
In the meantime, I have another series of The Lombok Life in the works, as well as a series from Nepal in the Himalaya. Lots to come!

Bahagia adalah kita yg ciptakan tidak bergantung pada orang lain,,,,
Superb. A wonderful adventure, brilliant story telling and a wonderful wrap up. Riding the bicycle gives your mind the space and freedom to think about what's truly important (and understand what's not so important)
Couldn't agree more Alex :) it really taught me a lot and without a doubt is one of my favourite trips to date. I can't wait to do more of it! Thanks for taking the time to watch and all the kinds words, it means a lot mate.
Loved this final one Josh, watching whilst its cold and raining in the UK, the scenery, filming, narrative, the observations i.e. sweaty arse print made me laugh so much, you being you has really made your films and the series brilliant , well done
Cheers mate! I am also currently in the UK visiting friends and family over Christmas...it's bloody miserable 😂 can't wait to get back to Lombok for some sun!
Thank you very much for taking the time to watch the series and all your kind feedback - really appreciate it 🙏🏼 I agree, I think it's nice just to be yourself on camera and way easier than forcing anything. I enjoy being a clown and it talking to the camera keeps me going along the way haha
Keep them coming Josh, only just realized I had not subbed your channel eeek! all done now👍you are a quality filmmaker and cannot wait to see where all this takes you Regards Mark
Well done bro! I love this video. Do it again in Bali and next Java 😁
Thank you very much :) appreciate you taking the time to watch! I have many more plans about cycling in Indonesia, for sure...Bali, Java, Sumatra would be a cool one 😬
Loved the ending episode. Again perfect mood, beautifully composed sceenes... and the end :) Funny ;) I'll go out today and will do some cycling for sure (4 degree outside but sh*t on it)! Thank you for this series, it was a real gem! Waiting future videos and projects! (I'd be happy to see a we live here more than a year now experience one :) hence we will move onto an island near future ourselfes too)
Thank you very much mate, really appreciate your support throughout the whole series! Delighted that you have enjoyed watching 😁🙏 I hope you enjoy your bike ride! There are plenty more projects I'm working on at the moment - lots more stuff from Lombok and other adventures like this one
Hi Josh, just found your video,I’m doing the Same ride ,at the moment stopped off at Rejeng bungalow
Awesome, Peter! Enjoy your trip 😁 I would do it all again in a heartbeat
Great video series Josh - i loved it. I’m a big fan of Lombok and will hopefully get up there with my bike. You have inspired me to make it happen!
Cheers David! I'm delighted to hear that. You won't regret it :) it's a fantastic place to cycle. Thanks for taking the time to watch the whole series, really appreciate it
Butuh tekad yang sangat kuat untuk bersepeda di daerah perbukitan dan sangat jauh seperti anda,, salute
Terima kasih banyak ya 🙏

Thank you!

Very nice! Enjoy the new bike, and thanks for taking the time to watch :)
Sangat Keren 😎💪
Terima kasih ya 😁🙏
Well done Josh. I have lived in Indonesia 21 years, we have yet to go to Lombok. That will change this year, we will go in June… but the only cycling I will do will be on the Gili’s. Do you live in Lombok?
Cheers Stephen, appreciate you taking the time to watch! And I'm very happy to hear that - I'm sure you'll enjoy it 😁 smart move to stick to just cycling on the Gilis haha. It's fantastic over there. And yes, I live here in Lombok. Feel very lucky to do so!
@@JoshEdwardsFilms thanks Josh we will be flying to Kuta, Lombok in June ( after 20 years of Bali) then Senggigi and onto Gilis. Any recommendations on a place to stay in Senggigi it all seems so streched out with no real centre like Kuta….
A bit further south (7 minute drive) is Ibludan just off the main road. They're family friends of ours.
@@JoshEdwardsFilms i am looking for a quiet place ( light sleeper) but close enough to walk to bars and restos…will check out your friends place. Owe you a few beers 🙏
Thanks for beautifull Video Lombok is Small Island very diffrent than bali.Lombok more natural,,not mainstrem. Thanks God..to born me in lombok,,because Every place i go is "healing" 😁
And thank you for watching! I feel very lucky to live in and explore such a wonderful place 😁 glad you enjoyed the video

Josh sat on his burning bike
His buttocks all a-tingle
Nasi bungkus he does like
But his true love is the Pringle(s)
Then he forgot what urab was called
Distracted by his blisters
and his lower limbs so badly mauled
"You want transport, mister(s)?"
Love this 😂
I'm going in again. This time, the poetry is a tad more tenuous, arrhythmic and arguably insulting, but it's all in pursuit of the rhyme. My wife and I sort of adore you..
That self proclaimed cycling wanker
Could take his pushbike a-trekking
If that sounds like hard work, he could just tackle Angkor (what?)
Stop showing off, you fekking.
(Twat) ❤
@@lesrankin1767 are you writing these yourself? Because if so, bravo 😂 got a knack for this
Thanks! I channel my inner idiot. Hope I don't rear-end your pushbike when we visit Lombok this October. Despite our preference for never straying far from the ocean, you've inspired us to do a lap of Lombok's interior (not cycling). Would love to shout you a Bintang or two. 🙂
@@lesrankin1767 that's quite a talent haha, love it. And awesome, glad to hear you'll be visiting 🤙🏼 it doesn't take too long to make it inland from the coast and I can highly recommend it :) that's the beauty of Lombok! Let me know when you're here
