    I have a 2012 V-Wagon very similar to this - Crystal Red Tintcoat, Recaros, sunroof delete (aka 'slictktop'), stock except for an Airaid intake. Best car I've ever owned. A blast to drive and extremely reliable. Thought about selling due to crazy market right now, but I just couldn't part with it. FYI - those paddle shifters are aftermarket, not stock, so can't blame GM on that thing falling off 😉, also that supercharger snout is not stock either. Ventilated seats were only available with Recaros. Not just fast in a straight line, these cars handle curves way better than they should with their weight - mag ride suspension is magic.

    Those paddle shifters are aftermarket. Stock is just a shifter button on the back of the wheel. Looks like the door and fenders are from a 2011 or older as it has the older split fender vent and the GM badge on the door. Something you can change to bring it up to 2012 spec. Love this!

    My father had one in sedan form, easily one of the coolest cars I've ever experienced. I likened it to the Hulk in a tuxedo. You could tell through the exhaust that it had some incredible muscle, but it was so polite and subdued about it. Really, my only two complaints about the car were the Recaro seats being uncomfortable, and the rear seat had horrible headroom. Otherwise, the car really is legendary. I personally love the screen setup. It was functional, but very classy, and very unique. I still remember the test drive: my dad got on it and I said "that's pretty strong, what is that, 90?" "Believe it or not, that's 120." I'd experienced plenty of seriously-fast cars at that point, but none that were designed to hide it. I'll never forget that.
    Anyways, he drove it to around 110k flawless miles before trading it on a Trackhawk, which has been another home run (currently around 80k miles). I think those two cars are ones that you look back on and smile feeling immensely satisfied that you owned them and actually drove them.

    This is my absolute dream car and one that I will own before I die.
    I technically owned one for about 2 hours...I bought it from a dealer in SoCal and started to drive it home to the Bay Area. We hit traffic going through East LA and the car randomly started shifting weirdly, almost like someone learning to drive stick for the first time. Long story short after pulling off in "da hood" and getting a shop with a scanner to check the code, the torque converter had failed and we had to have it flatbed towed back the dealer. It was quite the ordeal ending with the purchase being annulled and the tow truck driver giving me and my friend a ride to LAX so we could fly back home.
    I've never been on such a high and low over the same car in the same day.

      Plus I decided to re-think the whole situation and try to assemble a small fleet of "fast" manual wagons. I currently have an '05 manual Volvo V70R and 2000 V70R which is going to be converted to manual and I'm working on a getting ahold of a '95 T5-R for similar treatment. After a year of searching, I ended up only keeping the car 18 months. That will be my last sports car. Too noisy, too firm, too cramped, too uncomfortable in general. Trying to recapture my youth I guess. I drive an S-Class now and couldn't be happier (except at the pump). I love the air suspension and quiet comfortable ride.

    I have a 2009 CTS-V sedan. My front magnetic shocks started leaking @ 65,000 miles. I think there were only about 600 wagons made in total. The 2 door, sedan and wagon V's all ride on the same chassis only thing different are the body's. If you drive them at the speed limit they will get appx. 17 mpg around town, 22 mpg on the highway, If you hammer them, mpg will drop to 16 mpg. Push the Shock icon on the dash and it will go into Sport mode and the ride will get firmer. Push the traction control button twice and traction control will deactivate. Your car has a smaller pulley on the supercharger. There was a recall on the superchargers due to the shaft connector rattling, the replacement has a solid connector. They replaced the entire supercharger, free. My car has appx. 75,000 miles, only the shocks and the supercharger have been the only issues. You are right, a very good car for every day use, a 4 door Corvette. Requires Premium fuel. 3.9 0-60, the next gen V's are 668 hp, 0-60, 3.8. My car does not have paddles, just small buttons on the back of the steering wheel, you cannot see them while driving, very easy to reach, work great. Top speed: 185 mph.

    I was going to buy a CTS-V2 (non-Wagon, the wagons were impossible to find and double the price if I could), but after driving them I decided that a Chevy SS with an LSA blower was a better choice. The construction quality of the Cadillac was just so mediocre and the Chevy SS feels much, much better.
    It's a shame they never offered a wagon-version of the Holden Commodore in the US
    As far as that car goes, polish and coat that right headlight and it'll be hard to notice it was in an accident

      @Baltzy24 Год назад +4

      As someone that has both, you can't be anymore wrong. I absolutely love the Chevy SS, and I have owned four of them and have detailed about 60 of them. My V wagon is 25k miles, but 2011, and the build quality is night and day compared to the SS sedan. I wish so much that GM produced anything show worthy. The fit and finish of both cars is absolutely trash compared to its European counterparts. However, the interior of the V is soooooo much nicer than the SS, from a quality standpoint. The exterior is the same way, and even removing bumpers and body panels is better and easier on the V. With the SS, the way the clips are on every panel, it tends to warp the panel with the pressure needed to remove the clips.
      I use the SS as a mobile detailing vehicle, and it gets a ton of attention at the occasional car show, because it's jungle green, but in my opinion it's not show worthy

    I also have a 2012 CTS-V Wagon with about 70K miles on it. The only real problem I've had with it is the front suspension and steering, ALL of which, rack included, was replaced at 65K miles. There was also a bearing recall on the supercharger a few years ago. I put Corsa cat-back mufflers on it; expensive but very satisfying sound. I have a manual transmission and wouldn't have anything else. It's my retirement car and I am thoroughly enjoying it (although that Lyriq doesn't look too bad.....)

    Going to correct you there Hoovie. The Catera was a rebadge of the very nice Opel Omega 24v. A solid car.
