A crappy one gives the most content, is more educational and is funny to watch the Wizards little brain chips fry a little bit. Because there is no reason on earth to not break these poop boxes for parts and make pretty good money.
      Unless youve a channel...
its a lovely way for even professionals to train at leisure on how rarer more expensive non everyday cars slot together.
Whilst laughing at hoovie being truly bloody clueless as to what he buys, following the formula of learn nothing more than "ooo these are good cars when theybwork, isnt it "odd" "complicated" "pretty" or top end mercedes.
One day i expect to see a flying lemans or DTM c car in that collection too...
Imagine he drives one of those into the wizards . ..

Thanks Tyler for saving another old Porsche, the Turbo deserved another chance. Looking forward to seeing it brought back to its former glory. You have inspired my projects and RUclips channel, saving old cars that nobody else wanted to save (even if some are serious moneypits or even if they had to be rescued from an overgrown jungle). Given how new cars are going, it justifies saving a lot of the older ones particularly from the 1990s and 2000s.

"Looking forward to seeing it brought back to it's former glory"...you came to the wrong channel for that my friend😂😂 I mean sure the Wizard and his boys will get the thing road worthy once again, but Hoovie usually doesnt do ground up restorations for cars like this, he saves that for the much older classics.

I had an S-Line a6 2.7t, years ago. I honestly didn't hate the tiptronic. You learn to time your upshifts a half second early, and once you nail that delay, it becomes fun to use. I remember the downshifts being almost instant, so if you needed to pass, you just tossed the stick over and down and zoom around the slow guy lol

Tiptronic actually suits this 911 Turbo. The engine has so much torque you don't need a fast / manual shift unless you are using it as a track car.

    • @aaryeshg.6526
      @aaryeshg.6526 2 года назад +8

It's actually a good thing these initially came with slushmatics for the automatic version. It would have been worse if it had the sequential automated manual transmissions that most other supercars had at the time. In everyday cruising, stop/start traffic and freeway driving you wouldn't want clunky shifts.

tiptronic became popular when I was learning to drive stick, tried it on a new (at the time) altima which threw me for a loop because it was down to upshift and up to downshift so I'd accidently try to downshift to hit third but that thing didn't accept your prompt to shift half the time anyways lol

    Tyler (Hoovie),
FWIW, the carburetors mentioned appear to be two 3 barrel Weber 40 IDA 3C models.
These Weber carburetors are configured as inline three barrel, using three throttle plates on a common throttle shaft. As such, this carburetor is not progressive as all throttle plates displace equally.
Once understood, Weber carburetor tuning becomes intuitive. Though it is highly recommended to incorporate two wide band O² sensors, one per engine bank, to record or diagnose rich or lean air fuel ratios.
One may expand on tuning by installing individual Exhaust Gas Temperature thermocouples to aide in refining AFR and ignition curves.
    I apologize for being verbose.

I have a 997 turbo manual. I think it is a better car than the 996 and not just because of the lights but both rank among the greatest cars ever made. They have mind bending performance but can easily be used as daily drivers and with the back seats down they will take plenty of luggage. I even got a full set of golf clubs and trolley in the back once. The acceleration is amazing but the best bit is that they take corners at ludicrous speeds. I retired recently so sadly mine is going to be for sale once I sort out an electrical gremlin. I have had it for six years and have loved every second driving it.

Good thing you put your seatbelt on before getting T-boned pulling out in front of someone. That was so close you could smell paint. Speaking of paint, Porsche Basalt Black is metallic but more silver. Jet Black is metallic with more gold. I see John Ross following you in the Targa.

Hoovie had a 996 turbo manual, made it perfect, sold it. He's not saving these for him, he's saving them for us. Fix it up, paint it yellow, manual swap it, and you already have a buyer.

On the orange Porsche - I detail cars, and I think the paint could be brought back with a moderately aggressive polishing compound, followed bu a hand wax. Be careful not to buff through the top coat, Comet WILL work, especially on single stage older paint, but it bleaches and flattens the finish. On the deck lid, the holes are relly ugly. IF you can match the paint, fill and touch them up .If not , consider putting in flush carriage bolts and touching them up. Wouldnt look too badLOL.

@@jacob1423 I'm dead serious. From Merriam Webster: "an opportunist who seeks quick profit usually at the expense of others or from their misfortune." Someone's financial status has absolutely nothing to do with being a bottom feeder. And Bill Gates, Jeff Bezos, the Walton family, etc., etc., etc. are loaded. Hoovie is doing well financially for himself. And more power to him.
