Hi Randy, I JUST got done making these (almost 10pm). Mmmm I wouldn't exactly call it a train wreck. Buuuut, there was DEFINITELY a bus involved 😄🤦🏼♀️ Some people didn't make it on the bus. There were a few casualties. I suspect there will be more. It was kind of like Mallo Cups meet Zero Bar 😂 Thermometer looked like 245° 🤷🏼♀️ Then, after I made the caramel, and waiting on it to set-up, I watched your video again. I realized I didn't use enough butter in it. I used 1/4 stick, not cup. I also ran out of chocolate. Weeeell, I didn't think I munched THAT much 😬 Oh, and I used plastic forks like you, to dip chocolate. But, I didn't think to remove the 2 center tines, until too late. I lost one of the tines, but didn't realize until after I was done. Ugh.... So, I checked the bowl. Don't see it. Checked EVERY piece of candy. Nope! No tine. Was getting ready to just give up, and warn my husband, when I discoved it on the side of the bowl. YAY 😒 I told my husband "I hope you like them, but I hope you don't LOVE them!" (cause probably my first, and last attempt) 😂 Aye yi yi 🤦🏼♀️ Chocolate hardening - microwave again. Bars melting, throw them back in fridge. Chocolate hardening, and running low. Added some Crisco, microwave again. Bars back out, but melting again. Throw them in the freezer, etc...
First off, congratulations on one of the best comments on any of my videos, ever. 😄 Second, please believe me when I say I truly feel your pain. I've experienced every one of those mishaps, although perhaps not all in a single recipe. 😂 Thank you for sharing this, and I hope you'll stay the course and keep making treats for friends and family. 🤗
@@RandyMakesCandy😂 Good news! The survivors are doing great! They looking and tasting, like the true Zero Bars they were meant to be 😁 Lord only knows how 🤷🏼♀️😆 Ps.... I wish I could send you a side-by-side picture of my long time friend, because BOY! If you both don't favor, and look like you could be siblings! Even my husband that agrees with me on very little (😂) agreed.
I’ve only had a zero bar once or twice but both times I have been pleasantly surprised by how much I’d actually enjoyed it! This candy bars look delicious 🤤
I just watched a Payday candy bar copycat yesterday, and mentioned it to my husband. He said he likes the Zero bar. Mom always did too. So, that put me on the search. Here I am, pulling up a chair. So glad I found you. Your voice reminds me of Casey Kasem. I could listen to you all day 😊 Thanks for sharing!
Hi, Randy. I recently discovered your channel and I love it. Your videos are amazing. I let you know here's a new big fan from Colombia. I wish u the best. Raf.
Looks terrific! I always have to grab a Zero or an Uno bar on the rare occasions i see them in the candy aisle. Maybe this is why I sometimes fail those "are you a robot" tests.
Omgggggg you did it!!! My fave childhood candy, thanks so much
My pleasure, compadre. I hope you get a chance to try them. 😊
Happy summer solstice! Haven’t tried it frozen but I will now! Lol
I still haven't tried it, but I'm going to go put one in the freezer right now. 😁
God bless yall on what yall do always
Thank you so much! 😊
Yay! An old school egg white nougat!
Sometimes you just have to go back to the classics. 😁
I LOVE nougat based candies!!!
You might be a fan of this one, then. 😊
Some tasty science went into this, great version they look delicious!
Thanks for the inspiration. 😊

Thanks for the update and the info about my doppelganger. 😆
I haven't had or seen a Zero Bar since I was a kid. Now 70 and would sure like one.
If you make some (or find someone to make them for you), please let me know how they turn out. 😊
I just got one today from Dollar General Store. It tasted good, but it has shrunk!
Well, that's just sad. ☹️

I feel like the almond nougat almost gives it a more grown-up flavor. Is that weird? 😁
@@RandyMakesCandy no I agree lol it’s probably why I didn’t like them as a kid
Entirely possible! 😁

I'm so glad you found your way to the Candy Kitchen! And Casey Kasem? What a huge compliment! Thank you so much, compadre, and welcome. 😊
No wonder I used to love Zero bars as a kid, they had all my favorite ingredients!❤
Tasty treats, no doubt. 😊

Thanks, compadre! I very much appreciate your kind words. And bienvenidos!
Yes Yes YES ! I've done a few of yours . This is on the list. PSA Monkfruit is great sub for sugar cutting as I am a diabetic but love me some RMC.
It's great to hear from you again, compadre! 😊

Yeah. I'm sure that's the reason. 😁
Do you remember the PB Max from the 80's? They were short lived and possibly just a midwest based candy. I'd love to have a recipe. Love your channel.
Here you go. I'd love to hear how they turn out. 😊
