oh Joan, you just SHINE! Judith, this is such an important offering for older women. I see them disappearing too, and it's heartbreaking. I seek out other older women just to compliment them, and their faces just light up!!
OMG this is what I am actually doing as a designer and stylist. I see the fading away women just years before they are 50....when they hide because they hate their figures...love your work, dear colleague :-) Greetings from Sonja.
I love it! I just got a year older and I don't want to fade into the woodwork either. I had a lump removed 10 yrs. ago too. Surgery removed the bad thing and fashion is a fun/good thing that helps me take on the day. Thank you.
Yes, yes ,yes!!More women need to know this.I love the message that we don't need to disappear as we mature.Dressing to uplift every day does work.Go for it , gals everywhere:)))))
Wow that's great! I definitely see the value in making someone rediscover their fashion sense and how it can help you feel better when you like what your wearing
I thought the same thing but this woman is better looking (not that it matters) - I am north of 75 and still wear fashionable clothes and bright colors - A lot depends on how you see yourself and how much you love clothes - I say shine because the clock is ticking
@@tutango16 - RUclips is full of women of all ages and sizes who give fashion and style advice - They think they are fashonestas but sadly few really know what they are talking about - Some of them spend a third of the video hawking products in an attempt to make money - iris is One-of-a-Kind and she not only understands fashion, she helped create it
Thank you so much for this it is a real game changer for me I am now looking into re-finding MY fashion style that got lost after children, weight gain and as a career as a carpenter to name a few💜
What do you mean, "I'm not going to wear it in public"? Of course you are. You look fabulous and expensive! If you survived cancer, you can dress how ever you desire and KNOW that you are beautiful. Just feel it 😌👌 and do it.
Oh this video was wonderfully inspiring!! Love that Judith has followed her own fashion rules of fun and frugal. Wow, Joan is such a beautiful survivor that just radiates and certainly looks like a real model. This segment was life changing-- I have been known to receive a few fashion citations, but, now I feel empowered to continue to rise and shine and continue to wear what is fun (reduced price is a given)... and yes, I am also a cancer survivor.
Wife replying. Bravo. I will be 69 and a a grandmother. But I dressed the way I feel comfortable in I'm like you I like fashionable Styles if it suits me I'll wear it doesn't matter what other people think they don't have to look if they don't like it. I love going into charity shops I have found some marvelous clothes and accessories. Be bold and confident. I've loved fashion since a young child
@@lynnharrell9598 Lynn my husband died last year he had terminal cancer. This was my tablet in the first place but he took it over. I'm not very good at all this technology. It's my age it takes a bit longer to grasp things new
I’m really very sorry for your loss. 😔 Cancer is a terrible way to lose a love one. My brother died in March from cancer. If you would like to edit the name, it is a very simple process. In the upper right hand of your tablet screen you should see the circle with the “J” on it. Tap on the circle. Then tap on the name. Then tap on “edit channel.” Then tap on the name, make the changes to the name and then tap on the check. That should change it. 🙂
Came here from Nanny and the Moose! -Great Grandmother , a force of nature, from a large happy irish family. And a total fashionista, at all times. Check out her and Moosies video on fashionista hats, coming up shortly
YESSSS to not having to resign to the background over 50👏🏽! It amazes😳😱 but sadly I’m not surprised🥺 how some folks can chose to see the minus instead of the plus side of this video with the thumbed down and the “clown” comments. Judith has her one sense of style...no fashion rules and it fit her to a T. In the end, those who she helped will eventually discovered what “ fits them to a T” after trying out different outfits. Some feel the clothes we’re clownish...hey, if going bolder when I’m older (I am) I’ll be a 🤡 if I’m wearing a BIG as smiles & regain confidence as the ladies in the video😄
She's wonderful! Most older women do tend to disappear into frumpy clothes...And need to express who they are NOW. I will be 74 next month and don't want to make a 'Fashion Statement.' My Figure is basically unchanged over the past half-century (aside from a Knee Injury from a Bicycle Accident long ago) - tall and naturally slim. And healthy. I don't fuss about my Body. I live a very active Life. My Wardrobe hasn't changed much over my Adult Life either. When I was young, I sewed all my Dresses by hand...Now I haven't owned a Dress or Skirt in decades. I live mostly in Jeans with 'Dress Slacks' when necessary. My Clothes are well made and simple - soft in Texture and mostly Natural Fabrics. They're not expensive and I don't have a lot of Clothes. My Colors have always been soft muted Earth Tones - and solids, no patterns. I don't wear Jewelry. This all works for ME because I don't need to call Attention to myself...But everyone has a different History and different Hopes and Dreams.
They would be more respected if they labelled themselves over 70. Under this age, women have less feeli gs about 'disappearing. At 50, there aren' t these problems per se. 50 year old women are still very gorgeous. Stop using the age of 50 as some kind of old age landmark.
The lady in this video dresses plain and she would look fantastic if she would get more hip with her outfits. She is an attractive lady. Why not show it off. I met a lady yesterday , late 60’s she was all done up in glittering eyeglasses. High heel shoes. False eyelashes , makeup and young looking clothes. Oh and lots of jewelry on. And to top it off she was walking out off a senior center getting into a very hot little sports car. Just fabulous, this women is living her life to the fullest. She never just sits around either. Let’s all be like this and LIVE LIFE AND FORGET WHAT THE OTHERS SAY! THE OTHERS JUST HAVE PERSONAL HANGUPS
I actually like Joan’s before top… Kind of a minimalist, industrial chic vibe… Un-fancy like her honest personality,… Maybe just add a few simple silver jewelry accents, and matching or dark slacks, instead of those tan ones. I think wardrobe updates start with the wardrobe you already have and like, instead of buying totally different looking things
This message is for Hoda, I notice you are not wearing a mask in Japan. You should you are very close to the others you need the mask it's ok if other people don't care but you should wear the mask
Oh Wow😳 so didn’t get that angle. I’m over 50 and LUv the concept of this video😄 The woman was helping ones come out their comfort zone but in the end they would find their own stand out pieces that suits their personality.

I truly get fed up with folks banging on about 'dressing age appropriately', you dress in what you like. This video was like a breath of fresh air.
I love it! I just got a year older and I don't want to fade into the woodwork either. I had a lump removed 10 yrs. ago too. Surgery removed the bad thing and fashion is a fun/good thing that helps me take on the day. Thank you.
