Oh man, the sheer amount of talent and personality in this room! All about the Bass has become my favourite show in Andertons TV and I don't even play bass.
Me too. I didn't know I wanted to play bass until I started watching. I started getting into jazz last year but many instruction videos on youtube are on piano. Guess what I bought as a result..............
In addition to the guys you covered: Jack Bruce, Geezer Butler, John Entwistle, Geddy Lee, John Deacon, Steve Harris, Tony Levin, Chris Squire, John Wetton, Krist Novoselic, Pete Way, Flea, Phil Lynott. For a start.
I'm *loving* these power trio vids. Tremendous stuff lads. :D Great playing, & totally shows how bass with drums are the guts of most music. If I were rich, I'd totally have that Stingray btw. p.s. give Tayler a mic at the beginning to at least tell folks his name & drop a drummer-esque one-liner "I'm Tayler, & today I will hit stuff" delivered in a deadpan Spinal Tap manner would fit right in with the lightheartedness of these imho ;)
Best bass lines: Badge - Jack Bruce Come Together - Paul McCartney Cliffs of Dover - Kyle Brock Manic Depression - Noel Redding Every Little Thing She Does - Sting Bernadette - James Jameson Signed, Sealed, Delivered - Bob Babbitt I Was Made To Love Her - Carol Kaye All Blues - Ron Carter My Generation - John Entwhistle Green Earrings - Chuck Rainey To name just a few.

Slither is one of the greatest riffs. I was amazed when GN'R played it at the last show I attended. The rest of the audience was like "eh, what's this? Never heard that before"
Great selections, I’d love to hear more. The Police - Walking on the moon The Grayeful Dead - Uncle John’s Band The Clash - Should I stay or should I go? Any Tony Levin, Chris Squire or Geddy Lee. Maybe a reggae or ska version? There are so many great lines there too.
The hysteria sounded fantastic! I was surprised the Ric didn't see use for it, but the Stratus is just as well since he plays one now - GORGEOUS. I was going to nit pick the guitar line but ah who cares, fantastic video!
He only ever used that Ric for two or three songs in his career. When I think of Muse basses, its either pedulla, jazz basses and his status bass collection.
That's true, the Jazz and Pedulla were also classic Muse basses - I just remember seeing a ric a lot as well. The Jazz he played at HAARP was one of my favorites
Geddy Lee has so many great baselines that it's hard to pick one but you might choose YYZ or The Trees or gosh, so m.j any choose from. In addition to his straight bass lines, a lot of his synthesizer work was done on his bass through pedals. He is one of the best players ever in my humble opinion.
JJ Burnel and Lemmy are my two favourite bass players, so it's nice to see them get into this video. Having just bought a fretless bass, personally I'd like to see a best fretless basslines video. Not just Jaco but other great fretless players like Mick Karn, Pino Palladino or Tony Levin.
1- Roundabout- Yes 2. Crossroads- Cream 3. Green Eyed lady- Sugarloaf 4. Hole in the Sky- Black Sabbath 5. Woodchopper's Ball- Ten Years After- Undead Album or cd
These best bass lines sessions are great fun and Tyler does a great job on drums to support the guys. Best bass lines per decade by band by genre etc a nice seam of potential videos 👍
Fun episode guys! Nathan played Hysteria different than anyone I have ever seen before and it looks a bit easier than the covers I have seen previously... may have to give this on another go!
I was 17 when RATM released. I've never experienced anything like the energy or impact of those first few times listening to it since. It literally felt like someone lit a fuse in that room.
Great video! I was hoping to hear "Heart of the Sunrise" or "Roundabout" by YES (Chris Squire)... if this video could go on for hours. Thanks, and Rock On!
My favourite bass player is Pino Palladino and I'm afraid I would like the bass line from Wherever I lay my Hat by Paul Young if you please! Played the bass for 25 years in a semi pro band and I do enjoy these videos. keep up the good work guys.
For the drumer
I feel like I have to give love to your playing
He IS alive
Paul Bodan
Yeah, he held his own
I second that

@@stevepovey2489 Good thing instruments aren't mutually exclusive - the more the merrier!
Bass videos sound WAY more inspiring when heard in a band context. Good job.

Jaco Pastorius!!!!!
mykeadelic Absolutely, if we’re adding jazz players, but then Marcus Miller, Victor Wooten & Darryl Jones, too, among others.
Roger waters. May not be the best bass player ever but damn he wrote some funky basslines
Cliff Burton
Oliver Harket Absolutely, Roger Waters. Great lines.
I play bass and guitar. I absolutely love watching this kind of segment on Andertons. Please give us more of this! Great work guys!
RATM is the first thing i hear and i am very happy about this

That was pure fun. I can't wait to see more of this series.
So lovely to see how much fun you guys are having! Well done boys!

Give the drummer a mic, yo!
I'd love to own a Stingray as well. The Sterling Sub is a great alternative though if you're willing to modify it.
The best jams I've seen on youtube for months! Awesome 👏
Best bass lines:
Badge - Jack Bruce
Come Together - Paul McCartney
Cliffs of Dover - Kyle Brock
Manic Depression - Noel Redding

I Was Made To Love Her - Carol Kaye
All Blues - Ron Carter
My Generation - John Entwhistle
Green Earrings - Chuck Rainey
To name just a few.
Michael Edelman
For whom the bell tolls-Cliff Burton
These two always look like they're having a blast; always brings a smile to my face.
You guys are having so much fun!! This needs to be a regular series 🔥🔥🔥

Pearl Jam - Rats is great too
Killed that Muse riff, even with that fingering. The Status sounds great
Really enjoying these Group videos, keep them coming!
Great job! Any list that has Muse, RATM, and LED Zeppelin on it is going to be awesome.
I must say, that was a jolly good show chaps. Truly arousing for the ears.
More of this pls. Great job guys. And props to the drummer too \m/
Love the dude sitting on the floor not getting any love for his synth work 🤣 Cheers from the US 🇺🇸 🍻
The power of ROCK. Fabulously entertaining!
Great selections, I’d love to hear more.
The Police - Walking on the moon
The Grayeful Dead - Uncle John’s Band
The Clash - Should I stay or should I go?
Any Tony Levin, Chris Squire or Geddy Lee.
Maybe a reggae or ska version? There are so many great lines there too.
That's a right place for a drummer, no talking at all..
But it would be kind if he at least got a little bit more recognition than the disappearing keyboard player.
Great job and a nice selection of bass lines! Keep up the great work!
Absolutely nailed it guys keep up the good work guys.
Disappointed that Hit Me With Your Rhythm Stick hasn’t been included yet! Greatest bass line of all time imo.
This is by far the best video undertones ever made!!!!
It’s the type of videos that you keep going back all over again and enjoy
Nice to see some love to The Stranglers, JJ Burnel is such a good bassist.
I never thought Chris can disappear like that. He's a true magician.
The hysteria sounded fantastic! I was surprised the Ric didn't see use for it, but the Stratus is just as well since he plays one now - GORGEOUS. I was going to nit pick the guitar line but ah who cares, fantastic video!
Socks - AFAIK Chris recorded the studio version on his Pedulla, his main bass at the time.
Absolute class guys. Shame it wasn't 2 hours longer. More please.
Amazing. I don't even play bass. Who cares. That's brilliant!
Great jams guys! The drummer though is great, tucked away there in the corner. Nice job 😎
best episode on andertons yet
My favorite bass line is ramble on- led zeppelin
Same. Some days I can even play it.
It was the first challenging bassline I decided to learn when I got my first bass.
Could have watched this all night!
the only thing I was thinking about for this whole video was how great the drums sounded
Wot no John Entwistle or Steve Harris?
Yeah, what's a Muse or Stranglers, lol guess I'm old!
@davetbassboss i've heard of muse, but stranglers, nah
i would've put Wrathchild or My Generation as a replacement
Also, no Black Sabbath or Metallica...oh, and a personal complaint of mine, no Tool!
If y"all watched the vid y'all would've known they got more to follow
@@davetbassbos Guess you're old ? The Stranglers started in 1974, mate. :) :)
That Peaches bass line was the first one I ever learned note for note. What an iconic tone Jean-Jacques Burnel had then.
Please do more of this kind of video with a 'full band' situation!
Great bass demo guys.. Fantastic playing 😎😎
Such a good laugh to watch! Brilliant! Thanks boys! :)
Smashing it fellas!!!
Dazed And Confused > Whole Lotta Love
But the bassline from Ramble On beats both Dazed and Confused and Whole Lotte Love.
Geddy Lee. Perhaps you've heard of him?
So good to hear The Stranglers get some love.
Hell yeah for a Stranglers shout out!!!
Most underrated of all their ilk. The Raven is one of the best late 70s new wave albums - proto everything
I am impressed with your skills.
Love it ,and the Status bass...........
The tones are just amazing and very accurate!
Soo much fun! Party! Tell Lee to open Andertons Pub and you should be the house band. Thanks guys!
Guys, this was spectacular!!! (And I do not even like some of those songs, LOL) Great job!!!
Brilliant choice. What about Yes 'Heart of the Sunrise' and that awesome Chris Squire bass line?
What about Mike Durnt's bass line leading into the spoken part of Holiday
Nice! Would love to see one of these on New Wave/Post-Punk bassists like Peter Hook, Jah Wobble, Barry Adamson, Steve Severin, etc.
Perhaps a new series is in order... 😉
That list would not be complete without Nelson from New Model Army.
Plus John Taylor (Duran) and Derek Forbes (Simple Minds). And Mick Karn (Japan). Lot of cool and inventive bass players out there 👍
Brilliant! Obviously missed out Thin Lizzy because you will do a special top 5 on Phil alone!
i love Waiting For An Alibi with it's flanger driven riff
Smoke on the water bassline is one of the best.
1- Roundabout- Yes 2. Crossroads- Cream 3. Green Eyed lady- Sugarloaf 4. Hole in the Sky- Black Sabbath 5. Woodchopper's Ball- Ten Years After- Undead Album or cd
Yass! The stranglers are awesome with some incredible basslines
Nathan and Lee are bass monsters!!!
I can hardly play bass, but that Muse bass line looks really difficult! Awesome job!
i know its about the bass but god damn that guitar sounds amazing.
Fun fact: while Christ plays the Hysteria riff, Matt actually wrote it on the guitar originally.
Outstanding vid
Fleetwood mac - the chain (middle section)
Iron maiden - trooper
Queen - another one bites the dust
This trio should put out an album
311 with P-Nut on bass, "What Was I Thinking". Although an atypical song for 311, the slap bass is unreal!!
Fantastic job guys !!
Holy macaroni boys! Bloody awesome video!
Yes, please do more, that was very enjoyable, and the guys looked like they were having a lot of fun!
Steve Harris, geddy Lee, John deacon, Andy fraser, cliff Burton, geezer butler. Some of my favourite bass players
Glad to see Lee! He is the best anderton
Notice Me - New Model Army (1984) For those who haven't heard it, please do if you love a prominent bass on a record. It is f-ing superb.
These best bass lines sessions are great fun and Tyler does a great job on drums to support the guys. Best bass lines per decade by band by genre etc a nice seam of potential videos 👍

Geddy Lee - RUSH - YYZ!
I was 17 when RATM released. I've never experienced anything like the energy or impact of those first few times listening to it since. It literally felt like someone lit a fuse in that room.
Imagine getting to play RATM at work. Nice work, men.
When I think rick bass lines. Money - Pink floyd....
Excellent. Looked a real laugh to do.
We need a part 2.👍😎
That video just made my Christmas!! Excellent!!
Very underrated video.
Rock that building down baby! 🤘🏻
About 3 signal chains, two of them with Russian Big Muff's will get you Chris Wolstenholme's Hysteria sound.
Great video!
I was hoping to hear "Heart of the Sunrise" or "Roundabout" by YES (Chris Squire)... if this video could go on for hours.
Thanks, and Rock On!
Epic, thanks. Especially for the detailed annotations.
Happy New Year folks.
Great video.
The drummer is on point.
confused me for a bit when you changed seats but were still panned to the same side on my headphones. great episode though :)
That ace of spades tone though...
Oh wow the Stranglers, very cool :)
My favourite bass player is Pino Palladino and I'm afraid I would like the bass line from Wherever I lay my Hat by Paul Young if you please! Played the bass for 25 years in a semi pro band and I do enjoy these videos. keep up the good work guys.
Chris is definitely one of the best modern bassists
Well done, Gents...!
Yeah!! RATM in a Stingray 🤘🤘🤘🤘
